When creating actual boobytraps using grenades typically you would unscrew the top of the grenade then remove the fuze leaving only the primer and detonator so it explodes instantly.

Iv been doing this for years and yes at first I made those errors but using them as means of protecting yourself like rigging it close by like the entrance to a bunker and the using the bunker as a fire position is effective and similar use indoors you could rig a few rooms ahead of your position so if contacts get to close boom Iv even had it rigged in a corridor and I’m holding the other end of the line waiting for enemy players to come plus using a tin can with the grenade inside it is miles more effective removing pin put grenade in tin which holds the spoon and tie the line to the grenade doesn’t fail

tip for other peeps looking to set traps without accidentally causing airsofters to trip over your traps:
find camping stakes n pegs because you can put those by a wall or larger thing and tie the fishingline or what not onto it OR putting a thunder-B on it to allow the thunderB to blow without potentially damaging anything but the camping peg

    1. pull the pin and put the armed grenade inside a soda cup (like those in mcdonalds) one end of the string to the grenade and the other to the cup

With the advent of pyrotechnic grenades with an active bracket in the CIS countries, milsim games have moved to a new level. They mine quite a lot, stretch marks - grenades, pressure mines, remote control mines. Any pile of garbage can be dangerous. Manufacturers of pyrotechnics act according to requests, make grenades with a small delay, mines for tripwires (instantly work), remote control mines. The blogger Black Winter Airsoft told a lot about the methods of mining in airsoft.

Tip for p90 users, get more training on not covering your muzzle with your hand under stress. @@Tigerprowltactical That's like saying "You should know to eat to stay alive." Muscle memory is instinct. Instant thought and reaction. That's the whole point of "knowing" something and acting on it ASAP without delay.
Just make sure you drill in the correct thought. When muscle memory goes wrong that's when fear and hesitation tends to lead to mistakes. It's not just what people do. It's what people don't do. If you have a habit with A and it's counter productive then train yourself out of it. Reverse logic also applies. If it takes "Muscle power" then it's still a training process. Those that have the instinct and act without or little thought mastered how to adapt in the area. Regardless of what said area is.
Either way I'd still slap a suppressor on a P90. All it takes is one bad day with a foggy mindset to forget for a moment. Besides, there's multiple other beenfits to it as well. The only downside I can think of is the silencer getting caught on something.

For realistic gameplay such type of grenades are great and you can set double grenade traps that surround the enemy with explotions or set a trap that will activate the grenade that will explode in the room in which enemy will try to escape when the wire is activated.
if you need more effectivness there is a type of grenades that are called "booby-trap" grenades - they explode instantly after activating.

The answer to your question is: They are very, very effective if they're properly set and the right tipe of grenade is used.
The way placed them wasn't the best one for the very same reason you noticed: The delay of the explosion. When setting up a booby trap, you have to consider 2 things: Where the target is going to trip and where he/she is going to be when the device will explode. Booby traps are almost always meant to kill by chance, not by targeting specific targets. If you plan to use them in a defensive fashion (e.g. Area denial), you should either change you tactics or set them off manually (Or both). with a 3.5 sec delay fuse, he has up to 2.5 secs to react. A couple interesting fact about delayed booby traps actuatted by trip wires: Most people who hit a trip wire tend to stop retract or withdraw from the area where the trap was actually set - not going towards it.Just like it happened in your video in both cases. In the first the guy slowed down to see what the hell he hit and got blasted, the second guy hit it and withdraw the moment he realised what it was. And you missed it.
Hint: Next time, place the grenade on the spot their supposed to withdraw to (Above their heads, so there are less chances they will notice it while in the rush) and the trip wire in the direction they are supposed to go to attack you. Use a heavy duty trip wire so they can feel it and react (the wrong way). They will end up either tripping on it or stopping just above the the grenade their heads.

To make booby traps effective you have to understand the psychology of how to entice the enemy to hurry in pursuit of you. As this will make them careless and be distracted to any type of booby traps. To be effective with enemy combatants you need to have a distraction of sorts to get the enemy to look in a different direction from your traps. If your using grenades they usually have a delayed fuse of 3 to 5 seconds depending on the manufacture of the grenade. That’s why you test the batch as to determine the actual fuse delay before setting your trap. For grenades with a fuse you want to give the time for the pin pull and the fuse burn. That is why when using grenades a lot of times you want the trap to be above the heads of the combatants. And use the free fall of the height to give the grenade time to pull and the fuse to burn. Have distraction items like a dropped magazine or a battery pack or a dropped can of BBS that will entice the combatants to look at the item as they walk through the kill zone. Make them want to walk through your zone with something that they think they can use against you or that you carelessly dropped and think your at a disadvantage. You don’t hav3 to have a trip wire always sometimes you can be inventive and use a disturbing type of trip like pressure plates or fall devices that actually trip the wire for you. This makes everyday items seem harmless but effective against combatants. Enjoyed your game play. Keep it up and look forward to your next broadcast. Semper Fi, USMC.

While grenades can be very effective the ethical use of a Pyro mine is questionable. For designated fields you can argue that if it fails to go off if another person walks into it they will have eye protection. Even then there are times where you have a “Dead Field” where people don’t wear masks. If you are playing in a part time field or a game in an abandoned place you should not. While they can held and change the game I think they are to only be flash devices at the most and each player needs to track each one and disarm after each round before leaving the field.

U should try grenade traps with a pipe instead of relying on a string to pull the pin. They used to use old bazooka tubes for this. But any pipe that's large enough to hold a grenade and it's spoon closed will do. Carefully pull the pin, then slip it inside the pipe so it stays assembled. Then put the pipe over a doorway or up in a tree out of sight. And rig a trip wire that will make the pipe fall from one end, but have the other end stay held up. This way it dumps one or more grenades down on top of the enemy. It eats up some of the time needed for them to blow also. It usually takes around a second for them to land on the ground, then the enemy has to realize wtf is going on also lol. By then they're blowing up. This method works best because pins are actually harder to pull than many think

I am a simple man, I see RGD-5, i likem. Speaking of then, the trip wire doesn't pull the pin. You cut safety pin and lube it or you pull the pin and out the grenade somewhere what blocks the the lever and the tripwire just drops the grenage and sets the lever free.

I used to make mine out of rat traps and pull-string party poppers (filled with bb's and baby powder). Makes a loud pop, has a smoke/area of effect marking with powder and streamers, and about 100 to 150 bb's gently flung at the enemy lol They worked great and I made them at $3 a piece 😎👍

In the Vietnam war, it was common that grenades usually fit perfectly inside a food can with the spoon inside too, that way you could take the pin out completely and tie the string around the grenade. that way it was a lot less likely to blow up in your face

Lot of fields not allowing trip-wires .. because of bad reputation of "strong wires", where it not pull apart and player fell on the ground because of it, or because trap exploded into face ... sad.. in these days its hard to find place to use hand pyro .. its too dry and organisators are afraid of fire (and it really happens a lot :D )

Empty tin can is most effective removing pin and tie the line to the grenade with it inside the tin holds the spoon so when the line is pulled the grenade is pulled out the tin can releasing the spoon this what the Vietnam-is did to the Americans I have used this method many time can camouflage the tin brown zip ties can be setup quickly as you don’t have to mess about trying to rig the pin just pull pin slot in can tie the other end to what ever twig in the ground branchs door hands whatever opening you want iv used the indoor with a brick to holding the can and couple of spins around a door handle works a treat won’t take much to pull the grenade out

Not really related to airsoft but I was in a match of paint ball for the first time and it was the third and final round and I was shaking with fear and felt like PTSD (probs not) but seeing novirtsch heavily breathing reminds me of that day and panic is probably going through his head too, but it may just be me.

The spoon is a big factor on throwing. But a trip wire is a good idea if you make your timing right

    • @martyguy8185
      @martyguy8185 2 роки тому

If you pull the pun while holding the spoon.....it will make the path sketchy. If you release the spoon. And then throw it
..much better aim. ( I use these products at walk on games for reffrence)

You should retry this but instead of tying the line to the pin, tie it around the head of it without the pin but have it inside a can with the pin removed, it’ll yank the grenade out and release the spoon when tripped

@@DH-xw6jp This. Stating you can't make a mistake only makes it more likely to make it. Not less. Besides that it's a matter of honesty. With yourself before others.
You CAN make a mistake. Knowing you can means you know the danger. This is how you prepare.
