Yes, this is one of the end goals for the Civic blockchain. It's going to take time to build the infrastructure and have a government utilize the bloackchain for personal identity so they could verify each person but it would be similar to putting your SSN on the blockchain and allowing one vote per SSN. But I think this is the way to go to remove errors. It would also allow citizens to vote anywhere in the world and remove the need for absentee ballots.

there's a lot of opinions presented as fact. At 49 seconds the gentleman says "blockchain manages transactions very well". That factually false and is only accurate if you define "manage" very narrowly. In simple terms, a blockchain is a temporal database that keeps the history of the transactions in a secure way. Sadly the current implementations of blockchain do not scale and are far too energy intensive. By design, all blockchain implementations pre-2020 do not scale to millions of transactions per hour, let alone tens of millions of transaction per day like existing banking systems. The only revolution in blockchain is "new way to scam people out of money." In theory blockchain could be used to verify some piece of data is valid and secure, but to make that scale and work reliably means you need an open free exchange that is secure. Look at how many blockchain exchanges have been hacked, it is far from secure the way it has been deployed to date.

What about network viruses? Could someone make a 'blockchain virus' whose task is to track all ledger copies and change them all at one moment? One hacker does not trash one million computers, they write a virus which self-distributes and trashes each computer it finds. Hmmm ...
No, the chain would take the Apple to the store it was sold. That would be the end of the rode for the apples. Any issues from the consumer could be traced backwards, no reason or need to track the Apple down someone’s stomach and through the sewer system.

What if there’s no electricity and you need to buy some food or pay your doctor for example. It is an option but I don’t think and hope it is the only one way to pay in the future.

Yes, this is one of the end goals for the Civic blockchain. It's going to take time to build the infrastructure and have a government utilize the bloackchain for personal identity so they could verify each person but it would be similar to putting your SSN on the blockchain and allowing one vote per SSN. But I think this is the way to go to remove errors. It would also allow citizens to vote anywhere in the world and remove the need for absentee ballots.

there's a lot of opinions presented as fact. At 49 seconds the gentleman says "blockchain manages transactions very well". That factually false and is only accurate if you define "manage" very narrowly. In simple terms, a blockchain is a temporal database that keeps the history of the transactions in a secure way. Sadly the current implementations of blockchain do not scale and are far too energy intensive. By design, all blockchain implementations pre-2020 do not scale to millions of transactions per hour, let alone tens of millions of transaction per day like existing banking systems.
The only revolution in blockchain is "new way to scam people out of money." In theory blockchain could be used to verify some piece of data is valid and secure, but to make that scale and work reliably means you need an open free exchange that is secure. Look at how many blockchain exchanges have been hacked, it is far from secure the way it has been deployed to date.
This would be a big benefit for a guy like me who thinks that stuffs has to be owned by the one who created it good and bad..
