I'm using 4th gen for 7 months now and it's nothing compared to a laptop. You don't just play mobile games and video editing on a laptop. There are some basic functions like office works, document editing and online dataforms etc. Which are your day to day things and you can't do it effectively on iPad. I bought it as a substitute for laptop. Very happy as a tab but not as good as laptop.

The only thing limiting the iPad lineup from destroying the laptop market is the handicap due to iPadOS which should have a Samsung DeX type mode.

iPadOS is actually good, I own a iPad and have a experience.
Ipad os is the limiting factor here. You need a much more versatile software like macos or windows to take full advantage of this m1 chip. Performance wise its a value for money device especially the base model.

Of course for students and people who use computers ‘Normally’ (people who browse the internet, watch content, respond to emails and use Microsoft excel) are ok
Luma Fusion may be good but I’m not sure how much it would compare to apps like davinci resolve known for its Color grading, or premiere pro, and when it’s comes to final cut iMovie doesn’t compare to it, not even close.
People with editing needs will look into better computers, people in music industry will probably too, this is best for artists but even then iPad Pro is better for 120hz.

Watching the review on my iPad Pro 11” M1 attached to an external display and using an apple keyboard and trackpad setup. Have been working like this for 6 months or so… have no issues at all for my work setup as I am connected to the cloud based Remote windows server where my work is through jump desktop (feels like a dream as it uses the full display without the black bars). Once work is done, media consumption ke liye toh bhai it is the best in class. Battery backup is the add on advantage as I charge it only after almost 1 and half days of usage. It has replaced my laptop in true terms. May be I need a bit of multitasking versatility as I have to open the same app in more than 1 windows for work purpose and right now working like that is a bit of a pain and better connectivity to the external display (just eliminating the black bars on both sides) would make my work experience even better. Nothing a software update cannot fix.
@Aman Goyal Depends what u are buying it for… if you get the pro 11’’ and u are going to connect it to an external monitor (which even the air would do) and u need 120hz which is a must for iPad (which the air doesn’t have) plus u need the off the mark value of min 128 gb, then iPad Pro 11’’ M1 is a better deal

@@monurajput5608 opening 4 same apps at a time like for example working on 4 jump desktop sessions at a time or running 4 excel sheets at a time plus 4 in Microsoft office app… works like a breeze. No issues whatsoever till now…

But I'm very OCD because of people online saying iPad can't be a laptop or u can use it as a laptop with the Bluetooth keyboard but still it's not as seamless as a laptop and most software's are available in windows . .but some ppl say it's good. I need a iPad air or a i5 windows laptop got work (data entry in companies portal ) and excel . I like iPad Airs display and how light it is compared to a midrange laptop (which looks old school )
@@monurajput5608 u wud be connecting windows Remote Desktop to do data entry? If yes, RDP and jump desktop are useful. And u would definitely need an external monitor and Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for running things.

I think one of the reasons why even after all the cons windows still have an edge( got the joke?) over iPad because if you are fully moving into iPad there are still some day to day apps and softwares and other stuff which still is available on windows or is handled well on windows. Also iPad os still needs some work on its software for file management and downloads,etc.

For eg,, S21 ultra make take objectively slightly better photos than 13 Pro.. but video on 13 pro is better.. iOS is more refined and fluid.. android is fast but janky,, sometimes drops refresh rates.. iOS has improved battery Over last two years.. gaming is better on iOS.. apps are optimised better for iOS..

The iPad Air’s processor might be same as an M1 macbook but the processor on the iPad is limited for certain tasks. Like for example there’s a lot of things that the MacBook can do with ezzz but ipad cant. Its definitely not a mac replacement
@FR4NKL1N Yeah sure, but it’s not always all about processor power. You can’t use the full potential of the M1 chip on an ipad like the macs The thunderbolt port on the ipad doesn’t even support most of the external SSD’s

While I agree that M1 chipset is a powerful and capable SOC but it is quite disingenuous to show that it is running a PS5 game on its own processor. As the responsible creator that you are, you should have clarified that the actual processing and rendering of the game is happening on the PS5 and it is just being displayed on the iPad along with touch control options being given. This is a feature that Sony gives any play station owner. I think it is called remote play.
TL;DR: The M1 chipset may be capable of running some PS5 games but that’s not what is happening in the video.

Being iPad user what I have felt is that the performance is the best for first 1-1.5 year and then you see a sudden dip and saw frame drops while multi tasking but still a great product. To sum up everything I would say if you need versatility go for a windows laptop and if you need flexibility and that apple wala feel go for ipad cause both of them will cost you the same including peripherals.

@@ishaankhandelwal7798 I had 2018 version and I have used my friend's 2020 version for 6 months and also forgot to mention if going for iPad then go for max storage available cause I have even seen that difference in storage on same devices cause significant difference in performance in longer run.
