I always click on your videos the moment I see them, I don't drink coffee, I don't play fighting games, I don't have a switch but I still love everything you post lol
Me, I play fighting games sometimes (less and less due to work) late at night, can drink a coffee in the middle of the night, and still fall asleep the moment I touch the bed. is like an automatic switch, lol. But these aren't good things to do... Actually, none of them.
You are actually one of the most interesting people I know. You seem to be so happy and have your life together. I love your videos so much, keep up the good work! :)
It's an aqcuired taste. Meaning you have to have it several times before you start liking it. It also helps to use fresh beans and water that isn't too hot, as if these things aren't present, it can make it taste stale and bitter.
@@banishedair4518 Actually, it's all about how it's made. If you don't like common coffee, consider white coffee (more easily found as blonde roast from Starbucks, though Starbucks still burns it a bit). It's not nearly as bitter nor strong, and even I can tolerate a few sips without flavored creamer. If you go to an espresso stand, I recommend ordering a double shot white coffee mocha with extra chocolate. It's what my mom ordered when I was little, and it's what I drink now. I've introduced it to a few people, both fans and haters of coffee, and everyone I've had try it really enjoys it.
I can agree with you nihongo. Spend so much time collecting steam games or dreaming of playing, then when I get around to trying I might not be in the mood and just say "that would be cool to play but the motivation just isn't there", so instead I do something passive like watch tv or listen to music and feel awkward for wanting to play but not go through with it. Also the night owl routine you described is similar
Man this is life changing stuff.. I've been working on this this too. I set an alarm at 9pm called "Healthy sleep". Time sharpening your axe is time well spent.
I don't drink coffee at all, but what prevents me from being early is those headaches and back pain. If that get better, I can do better at university. Another great video to watch.
I don't know exactly why, but I just love watching your videos. Its just so relaxing to me, and the topics you talk about just make you seem like an intellectual and interesting person. Keep doing what you're doing man!
You're one of my favorite youtubers. Your format breaks the typical mould and your videos always seem fresh. Other channels tend to put too many videos out like on a daily basis and content becomes stale, but as you said in another video I know you only create videos when you really feel like you have something to say. Thank you and please keep up the charming work!
Meeee xD I am very used to sleep on the ground too because of a time in my teenage i did this, and like, if i get lazy or sleepy, i can fall sleeping on the kitchen whitout problem lol xD
I used to sub for ps vita videos but now I’m always looking forward to coffee videos and just listening to topics like these. Keep doing it man this series is awesome
Jason Tyler think it's cause watching UA-cam in excess just makes your really passive and the internet is making our attention spans shorter. Gaming would take effort
I do it sometimes too. I think it's because sometimes I don't want to dedicate my time and energy into it myself since I might have other things I need to do in a bit, and with videos they're organized into parts so you know how much time it takes.
Used to work at a coffee shop (bit too long if you ask me). Too fine grind does change the taste because the water is then spending more time in contact with the coffee because it's going through slower resulting in a stronger taste. This isn't necessarily bad, so long as you're making the adjustments consciously.
I connect very well with you on this nihongo, its nice seeing you figure out and change your habits in order to make life generally easier for you, and how its a very positive effect. Thank you for your advice and generally how you feel! Keep up the great work!
So much important information and Revelations in this video. The importance of being "bored" increasing creativity and inspiration. There are recent studies and articles that talk about this ! Think there are some ted talks too. Love these videos for this topic. Makes me happy I'm not the only one interested in this.
I completely agree with the "staring at the wall" idea. Unfortunately I share a room with my two siblings and live in two bedroom place with our parents. So instead I find other times to think (DO NOT DO IT WHILE DRIVING).
Same things used to happen to me. I'd get into bed and it'll be a good two hours before I even go to sleep. Recently I started playing either podcasts or a audio book on sleep timer, and it has helped so much. Ten minutes in and I'm a sleep.
This video actually motivated me to attempt to change myself; I always find myself chastised for waking up later and I'm never actually able to do much with my free time haha. Let's see if this works :) great video
Well I did try it and now I woke up totally refreshed! I still have phone in my room but I didn't play it much at all. What I do is try to do all that "you stuff" in the living room. Then when I'm back to my room I will just set up my (phone) alarm if necessary then sleep. Also airplane mode on the phone too. So the goal here is to do nothing in your sleeping room but do everything else in other room.
About to start college courses again and a shit ton of class because I slept in. Thanks for the vid, just bought a sunrise alarm clock instead of relying on my phone because of this video.
Rustyhound That used to be me lol, man how I wish I can return to that kind of sleep, I'd trade trouble falling asleep for constant interrupted sleep any day
For most of my devices I use a blue light filter app. I also bought a pair of Orange goggles for my devices that don't have that filter if I want to play/use those at night.
Yes, I put my phone away from my bed. When the alarms sounds off in the morning, it forces me to get up to turn it off. For coffee, I use to drink it every morning but got off of it because it made me feel sluggish evening. So now I drink it on the weekends. Cheers
I can relate with the staring at the screen thing. When my girlfriend goes to bed I always think I’m gonna stay up a bit and play some video games that I’ve been longing to play. But when I sit there I’m just, meeeh! And watch something on Netflix or go on the ps store/neshop and browse and buy more games. But for some reason I don’t feel like playing them. Maybe because I’m too tired and just want to relax. And I know playing video games isn’t exactly working out but you do have to put in a bit more effort than to just sit and watch something.
I do spend a lot of time staring at the screen deciding what I feel like playing... I started sorting by what games are installed so there are less and install just a few games so I can focus on like one or two at a time until I complete them. Also, I've uninstalled most of the games/apps from my phone so that when I'm idle and pull out my phone I'm more inclined to jump into memrise or another app where I can practice japanese instead. Also, I've rediscovered my kindle as well and I'm trying to get back into that rather than gaming or using my phone instead. Kindle paperwhite is nice because you don't get that blue back-light that is apparently bad for you before bed.
This video was the thing that will help me Thanks for the lesson, also your not the only one that stares at the steam library doing nothing i personally thats a commonthing to players.
You know when you said about looking at the wall blankly , And i do the samething and its just peacful its also how i get ideas for drawing.✌👌❤ peace and love and respect for you nihongogamer✌
I remember that karate teacher told me to put my alarm (phone as well) across the room so that it forces me to both get sleep and get me out of bed in the morning. It was pretty effective in regards to both those things. The point is I didn't think anybody else actually used this method too lol. P.s. I love your mug. I wonder where I can find a little witch academia mug too...
Ha, I don't have a problem to sleep, but to keep sleeping! I usually find a 4-6h sleep and wake up in the middle of the night. Then drink coffee in the morning to survive the day at work. My solution when I can: physical tiredness. I played a lot of sport when I was at school and I think this routine keep me awake in the night when I transitioned to a salary man w/o time for sports.
Also, I try not to drink coffee later in the day. I'll make myself a bowl of matcha or cup of green tea if I feel like I need a little boost since the caffeine buzz really isn't the same from them and won't actually keep me up late.
Hi. Is manually pouring, manual drip better that a coffee maker? We just bought a coffee maker- the usual generic bran called American Home. God bless, Proverbs 31
It's funny, a while back I had the same experience with my phone and sleep. I ended up putting my phone on the other side of the room and using a real alarm clock. That helped for a while... until I started reading things on my laptop in bed -_- I'm hopeless haha. BUT, I did recently pick up a Kobo ereader and have been loving it. I've been reading more at night, falling asleep easier, getting up more refreshed... I think there really is something to this. Now I just need to put the laptop over with the phone, and I'll be a master of mornings... I hope.
i have the same thing late sleeping... from 2-4-5am,,, staring at the steam library for hours choosing the games you want to play it... becoming indecisive and just do something else..
Im just gonna take a guess at one good solution: When you open tabs and take up time doing so, just sync them in your phone browser to an account on your computer, whether it's Apple Safari or Google Chrome should be helpful to then focus your reading time while sitting at the desk instead of browsing on the bed.
I always click on your videos the moment I see them, I don't drink coffee, I don't play fighting games, I don't have a switch but I still love everything you post lol
I drink coffee occasionally & play fighting games :)
Same here
Then you're here for him, he's a pretty cool guy.
Me, I play fighting games sometimes (less and less due to work) late at night, can drink a coffee in the middle of the night, and still fall asleep the moment I touch the bed. is like an automatic switch, lol. But these aren't good things to do... Actually, none of them.
SAME BUT I DRINK COFFEE! HES ACTUALLY ENTERTAINING TO WATCH AND YOU LEARN A LOT FROM HIM.
You are actually one of the most interesting people I know. You seem to be so happy and have your life together. I love your videos so much, keep up the good work! :)
Shut up yin yang
He makes me wish I liked coffee!
sunsbookishgamesx too true... Too true... 😂
I didn't like coffee until Persona 5. Since then I enjoy my freshly grinded Guatemala shb French press coffee! ^^
im a tea person

Me too
The irony is no lost on me, as I am doing the same haha
I'm loving these 'discussion over coffee' videos! You offer some really interesting insight in them and I always look forward to the next one.
You made me change I the way I look at life
Man this is life changing stuff.. I've been working on this this too. I set an alarm at 9pm called "Healthy sleep".
Time sharpening your axe is time well spent.
Love the coffee making vids. Not sure why, but its the perfect setting for a discussion.
I love that there's so many coffee videos lately. It's probably my favorite series on this channel.
You're one of my favorite youtubers. Your format breaks the typical mould and your videos always seem fresh. This is my second time watching this vid, and I don't normally do that. Your stuff is so chill man. You helped my lunch break time.
we'll your right. Same to me. Lots of thinking. Haha more coffee
I don't have trouble going to sleep,
I have trouble staying awake.
Meeee xD
I am very used to sleep on the ground too because of a time in my teenage i did this, and like, if i get lazy or sleepy, i can fall sleeping on the kitchen whitout problem lol xD
I have the opposite problem
Wanna trade?
Why don't you wet the filter first to get rid of the filter taste?
I used to sub for ps vita videos but now I’m always looking forward to coffee videos and just listening to topics like these. Keep doing it man this series is awesome
I stare at my library all the time. I would even watch the game on UA-cam instead of playing it myself which is weird.
Jason Tyler think it's cause watching UA-cam in excess just makes your really passive and the internet is making our attention spans shorter. Gaming would take effort
I have such a large backlog that I don't even try. :P
hahaha I caught myself in that! Just like you, I would watch the game on UA-cam instead of playing it myself! How stupid is that?! x)
WeGood how come? I mean yeah at somepoint it does but how on this topic?
I do it sometimes too. I think it's because sometimes I don't want to dedicate my time and energy into it myself since I might have other things I need to do in a bit, and with videos they're organized into parts so you know how much time it takes.
Wow perfect I literally couldn’t fall asleep last night I was watching your videos to try and help
Absolutely loving all your videos man. 1 or 2 days of the week when you do upload, I make always sure to make space for your videos in my "me time".
Man, why did you have to post this in the middle of the night?
You got me.
I appreciate your effort in content creation. I hope you get your sense of smell back.
This I can actually really relate to. As much as I hate people telling me phones are bad, I do have to agree with it on this certain aspect
Used to work at a coffee shop (bit too long if you ask me). Too fine grind does change the taste because the water is then spending more time in contact with the coffee because it's going through slower resulting in a stronger taste. I can relate to this problem so much. I might just give it a go, at leaving my phone in another room.
Thanks for the insight!

that coffee mug with little witch academia is cool
I'm here to see japan through his camera lens.
I completely agree with the "staring at the wall" idea. Unfortunately I share a room with my two siblings and live in two bedroom place with our parents. So instead I find other times to think (DO NOT DO IT WHILE DRIVING).

Hmm... this is interesting, definitely going to give this a go I think!
I really love this series, coffee, and your channel.😊
Kind of unrelated but I’m glad I have the notif bell on. This didn’t show up on my subscription box.
Relaxing video
This video actually motivated me to attempt to change myself; I always find myself chastised for waking up later and I'm never actually able to do much with my free time haha. Let's see if this works :) great video
i love the amount of videos and topics you’re putting out now
Black coffee is actually good for you and the a nutritionist here in the US said it’s healthy to have a cup of black coffee a day.
Wow, your videos make me feel relaxed.
Well I did try it and now I woke up totally refreshed!
I still have phone in my room but I didn't play it much at all.

Nihongo, another great video! Your videos inspire me to improve my life every single day. I hope all your followers agree!

Also I love your coffe vids, please dont stop making them
About to start college courses again and a shit ton of class because I slept in. Thanks for the vid, just bought a sunrise alarm clock instead of relying on my phone because of this video.
I have no trouble sleeping, I could sleep 18 hours a day if left alone lol
Lucky you, I wake up every damn hour lol
ascullydotcom Once I finally fall sleep, I can sleep for 12h+ but the problem ia getting to the point where I can sleep
Rustyhound That used to be me lol, man how I wish I can return to that kind of sleep, I'd trade trouble falling asleep for constant interrupted sleep any day
Inspirational, thank you.
For most of my devices I use a blue light filter app. I also bought a pair of Orange goggles for my devices that don't have that filter if I want to play/use those at night.
Love your videos @NihongoGamer keep up the good work!
I thought I was the only one who would just stare at my games library for what seems like hours
great insight man, keep it up!
holy crap this is SO relatable on so many levels, specially the part in which you stare at your Steam library
Great vid!
I always click on your videos when I see them. I drink coffee. I enjoy street fighter. And I have a switch.
As soon as i wake up i exercise with water, have "breakfast" around 8-9am, then have coffee at 12am or 1pm.
*Starts explaining things while pouring coffee.
Me- I can't understand what you're saying but that coffee looks nice.
same here. when I see that nice looking grind, I hear but I don't process
I love your Little Witch Academia mug
Your cup its awesome ! I love it! Plus ur video is quite good, new sub here
Yes, I put my phone away from my bed. When the alarms sounds off in the morning, it forces me to get up to turn it off.
For coffee, I use to drink it every morning but got off of it because it made me feel sluggish evening. So now I drink it on the weekends.

Thank you for this video.
Irony it's watching this at 2am. Good video!
thanks man! excellent video!
I like Coffe. I like Games. I like Japan. Thumbs up !
That Coffee looks like a chocolate muffin
I know right!!! ;-)

Tell more about your high school dance please:')

I go through the same thing myself but I found decaffeinated coffee works wonders in the evening.
This video was the thing that will help me Thanks for the lesson, also your not the only one that stares at the steam library doing nothing i personally thats a commonthing to players.
friend got rid of the television because he thought that he wasted to much time watching it, yet now waste as much time checking his phone
Great video, I should do this myself.
Thanks for this! I have the same issue. Now all my screens are very far from my bed xD
You know when you said about looking at the wall blankly , And i do the samething and its just peacful its also how i get ideas for drawing.✌👌❤
peace and love and respect for you nihongogamer✌
Lol. I do the same. Stare at the library.
I usually put on some nice music or listen to an audio book...... works fo me
I remember that karate teacher told me to put my alarm (phone as well) across the room so that it forces me to both get sleep and get me out of bed in the morning. It was pretty effective in regards to both those things. The point is I didn't think anybody else actually used this method too lol.

Some other good "me time" activities: do some drawing, or take a bath. Much preferable to staring at the wall (to me!)
This is so true, this is probably why I can sleep for 10 hours and still feel like shit. I will try this now :)
It's funny, a while back I had the same experience with my phone and sleep. I ended up putting my phone on the other side of the room and using a real alarm clock. Nice, a Little Witch Academy mug!
I don’t drink coffee but I drink alot of soda. Could that work too since its cutting out caffeine after 4pm?
Why do I find this satisfying
helpful video nice
Love the videos!
You sound just like me. brought the Kindle Oasis just so I can get back into reading time.
i have the same thing late sleeping... from 2-4-5am,,, staring at the steam library for hours choosing the games you want to play it... becoming indecisive and just do something else..
