I just keep finding myself coming back to listen to this over and over. And if I watch Glee and skip to Kurt songs and watch UA-cam videos of Kurt songs no one needs to be the wiser. I love his voice so much. I have his books on audible and was thrilled that he narrates them. We need more singing Chris.
in comment lots say his voice changed or rotton, so I was kinda worried...but! his voice is just as clear and bright as him in glee. like season 5~6's kurt. I like he singing being alive!
He still sounds amazing. His voice has changed and deepened slightly. You can hear it when he speaks. But his singing voice is still as gorgeous as ever.
Idk why but his singing voice matured as in changed but his talking voice sounds pretty much the same no this isn’t hate towards Chris it’s just i didn’t recognize it at first
When the clip of him singing let it go came out, I was excited, but also sad, because it seemed like his talent was pretty rusty. This video shows otherwise. Truly beautiful!
He’s using a mix register here, back in glee days he sang everything in his high “falsetto” register (I strongly believe that was pushed by the production) he has an incredible wide tessitura. He can go back and sing like Kurt, but when you have such a variate of vocal resources you can use that to transmit different emotions, right here he sounds warm and happy. If he had go higher will maybe make it sound “sweet” and fragile. At the end is his decision on what he wants to do. And with such a voice he has a LOT of options
He did sing in his lower register on Glee, especially later episodes. He's fortunate to have such a wide range - it also helps when he's singing and harmonizing with someone. I'm only now (2023) watching Glee for the first time. Such a contrast to see him then at age 19, and now 12 or 13 years later. The younger Chris really endeared himself to me. But, we all grow up. And I'm still watching Glee, so I'm basically familiar with him as a teenager, not a mature, confident young man. (I love the young Chris!)
He sings Just the same... He has said that producers wanted him to sing high All the time, And he after a while stop enjoying that as before when he started, he wanted to show more of his voice, that is why after time, Kurt kinda explored a little more of his voice... One of the first examples was Rose's Turn or Little Pink Houses. So, Right in this performance, he wanted to show a little stronger Part Of his voice, And i think he sounds great.
So good to be hearing Chris sing again! He sounds amazing here.

That’s because your speaking voice usually finished changing at 18, but your singing voice continues to change until your 30’s.
