I’ve owned my 77 280Z since high school. Love it and always will.

I used to have that same 280Z back in 86. It was a rocket ship! I was in the 10th grade! lol 😂

It was my first car.....throwing it into second gear ate a groove of rubber out of my tires every time

Great video with one exception…stop calling it a ZX please. I have had my ‘75 for 38 years and it’s still my favorite

I'm looking everywhere for a RHD 280z. This is my first classic car, and I'm so excited. At this point I'm even willing to import one from the USA and see how to convert it to RHD if that's even an option

But I always thought the grandmother (given the car's "FairladyZ" name in the home market) was the 60's Datsun Sports 1600/2000. Great video nonetheless 👍

They have the same awesome rouded thick aluminum louvers that I have on my 78 280Z! very cool, they seem pretty rare because you usually see the squared sharp louvers instead

Half of what you talk about is about the ZX, which you kept referring to this car as. Most of what is said you can just look at the car you had and see that it's just.. Wrong.

Those cars were racy and definitely contenders! Had a 300Z myself both the 1986 and 1990 (not twin turbo)! Video edits = 👌👌

Poor guy never understood the designers of the Z. He should have removed those heavy weights hanging off the wheel base. Those heavy bumpers, and lowered the car.
Two things the Designers were forced to do, under safety USA requirements.
Which were secret deals made by USA Auto Manufacturers that hated the Imports winning the Auto market share.
So they made rules that would help kill the imports added heavy weight ( to small engine powered cars)
Jacking them up to meet American Auto Bumper heights. Made great handling cars ,close to poor handling American Cars. European cars were low and light weight for small engine performance and excellent handling.
USA Auto Manufacturers knew this. They had the big V8 power .It was never about SAFTY.

Is that true? The 280 shell is longer than the original? I think it’s just the bumpers that make it longer?

Got mine for about $3500 in 2018, needed a lot of love but for the condition I got mine in back then are now going easily double or more! If I sold mine today I would want 30k+ also haha.

@@AnthonyCessor ya but you put some TLC into yours, iv seen cars that are ready to fall apart from how much rust is in them for sell at 30K
Im talking about Z's that need new floors, the quarter panels are rusted out above the tires missing most of the trim the sets look like you took a blender to them ext.
thats not a car worth 30K or more thats a car worth about 5K at best.

Mine was in perfect condition with no body rust and it ran and I got it for 2 grand. All it needed was stock rims (bought it with aftermarket rims) and new turn signals on the rear
