in 2nd mechanism why did you assumed the hinge at L/2? is it because the value of Mp changes from L/2 distance or because it is a kind of rule to take at L/2?

Because at L/2 there is a change in the section of the beam (i.e. change in value of Mp)

Hinges form at locations where different members meet and where different members of Mp exist (i.e. different sections )
