He didn't just coach St. John's, he was ST. JOHN'S! He didn't just coach in the Big East, he was the BIG EAST! A national treasure. RIP Coach Lou. St. John's alum C/O 2023.

Met him when I attended St. John’s about 20 years ago back when they renamed the arena in his name…. one of the nicest people I’ve ever met at St. John’s

Rest in peace to a great man who lived a very long life. I just passed by St. John’s University last Friday, not even knowing that he would pass away the next day. So sad to hear.

Like the Manhattan Jaspers, and the Beavers of CCNY , the Redmen of St. John's of N.Y. were the epicentre of college basketball. The "old school".Goodbye Lou.

He had a very similar lifespan to Betty White (January 17, 1922 - December 31, 2021) and Charlie Munger (January 1, 1924 - November 28, 2023). I will not be surprised if W. Michael Blumenthal (born January 3, 1926) and Yury Grigorovich (born January 2, 1927) pass away at the age of 99 in November-December 2025 and November-December 2026 respectively shortly before turning 100 as well.
