This was my best friend's favorite song when we were 5. Listened to it on a 45. For some reason this song popped into my mind last week but I couldn't remember the words. Life was a lot more innocent back then..or so it seemed.
Just found my 45 from when I was about 5 also, 55 now. It was heavily scratched from child handling. Just curious to hear it again after 50 years and I just did here, lol. Used to play it constantly, I just couldn’t remember what it sounded like. That was fun 😎👍
Ahhhhhh back to the good ol’ days when I used to listen on the record at my grandparents old house and we put thimbles and smiley faces on our thumbs and our thumbs danced to this. Those were the good days for sure.
My mum used to sing this to me because I've always been small and used to hate it with a passion! I'd forgotten about it until today (I'm 34!) when I just started singing it. So many memories :-)
We have a very small kitten that we just rescued and we named her Thumbelina because she's very very small but I do love this version of the song because it brings back memories of when my mama and I would watch Danny Kaye in Hans Christian Andersen
One of the problems this movie has is it makes Hans Christian Andersen into an innocent naif.Beyond his fairy tales he was a prolific sharp observer of human nature in real life and this movie does not portray that at all.
