Great video! Tubeless with sealant would have helped tremendously with those goathead thorns.
Great video guys.
Shwalbe tires with slime tubes.. that's all I got :)
I enjoyed your video Flats... go tubeless. I think you will find that the sand burrs won't bother you anymore. Still, bring those spare tubes just in case.
Have fun!
I have been enjoying your videos! We plan to do BRAN 2024 you should come too!!
It would seem that everyone rides west to east to ride with the winds. But it would seem that direction also has more that it’s share of headwinds. Same for the Erie Canal trail. Go figure. This does loo like a beautiful fun ride though.
From what research I could do it seemed like the best option with a light downhill the whole way. Locals said the wind changed direction often, but the downhill turned out to be not noticeable at all so perhaps west to east is the smarter choice. By the end of it we were craving any kind of elevation change. Thanks for watching
Enjoyed your video..ty for sharing
Been there , did that. A great trail and a good time. No flats , I used Gatorskins.
Nice video you got there. I'd say this is prolly your best one yet. Keep it up.
how much was the uhaul? very nice vid thanks for sharing
Gotta say, you guys made the best Cowboy Trail vid. My wife and I are planning and got more out your video than the others. Great job.
Always great to hit the trail with you, Charles! Great work with the video!
We have to do something about our flat tire curse. Between Arkansas and Nebraska we got like a dozen tires in under 200 miles!
[13:10] we changed that tube 3 times, couldn't find whatever was puncturing the tubes. If it wasn't for that run to the tire shot to get sealant, we might have never left! On day 2 we spent almost as much time changing tires as cycling. Day 3 no flats, was great!
You have to run tubeless out here in Nebraska. Those thorns are all over the state and tubes even packed with tons of green slime never last more than 50 miles before you have to pull them and start patching holes.
Bravo! Not sure it would help, but anti-puncture tape or liners made a difference for me. Perhaps going tubeless is also an option ;)
Next year we are definitely going to get the 5x thickness tubes and some more serious tires. I like the idea of liners too, I'll look into that!
@@digdugdiggy I've been using www.amazon.com/dp/B07PCT2CSH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_FWKD4BX0VFYA5TJNB4A0
I will ride titanium tires next time :-p
will definitely look into tubeless, my rims and tires are ready for it, and it makes it harder to use them with tubes, often have trouble making the tire fit the bead properly.
Very cool video; ya'll are filmakers, directors and participants/movie stars, way to go, I loved this video!
Sweet editing! Your Naaayyy is on point.
Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires with Green Guard, and thorn resistant inner tubes. I use them on my recumbent in Cheyenne. Great combo. Or get some Mister Tuffy tire liners.
What were the dates of the ride?
May 19-22 in 2021 (I put this info in the description).
Thanks for watching!
Cool, looks like a nice trail, an all-new environment after Florida. I need to head north bikepacking too, it's too hot here in Florida. :)
I need more of these! Awesome way to start the day. Bro you guys need some stronger tires bro.
Nice ride, guys, I wouldn't expect so many flat tires. For the head winds, I'd recommend an electrical bike, so much more fun, haha! 😁
where is that whats that place called 0:15 - 0:23? in the beginning
Sorry I'm not sure, it was somewhere in Nebraska along the Google maps route from fort Collins Colorado to valentine Nebraska.
LOOKS LIKE YOU MADE IT CHARLES! ALL OF THAT TRAINING PAID OFF! YOU WERE WAY UP IN NIOBRARA/ PONCA COUNTRY. (P.S.......STOP RUNNING OUT OF WATER....)
Nicely edited!
I HAVE A PRIVATE UA-cam VIDEO I CAN SEND YOUR WAY IF YOUR SUBSCRIBERS WANT TO SEE THE REAL RANGER FRED.
Great video! I'd probably use a hardtail mtn bike with 2.25" Maxxis Crossmark tires set up tubeless with 3oz of Orange Seal in each tire. I recognize the Tarptent Protrail Dyeema tent. Excellent tents, I have over 3,000 miles on my Tarptent Contrail model. Happy trails.
