I LOVE THIS KNIFE!!! I use a simple glow in the dark rubberband and keep it in my pocket and not once have I had an issue! Been waiting to hear what you have to say about it for some time!
I also bought a sheath, but from Delta for like $40 I was able to customize the stitching in blue since I have the artic ice version from smkw. Usually carry back pocket.
Thanks for the disassembly video. I over lubed the knife, making it hard to open. The exo is definitely my favorite knife I own. Rivals the BM 87 in my opinion. However mine didn’t come with a sheath for some reason (talked to the retailer I bought it from and they are sending me one) so I’ve had to use a rubber band to keep it closed. I like how there’s no springs… which can be a point of failure… however using the rubber band… has some advantages. I wish there was a way to lock it closed… but that would change how the knife is used.
Grease cups in them bushings, they hold grease..it's a great design.i gotta see if smkw knows if parts can be obtained, screws,n bushings.very minimal parts which is awsome...take on old luftwaffte knife from wwf 2 w chinese twitst...
I just got a few and I sprayed a little bit of rem oil in the tracks after a few days of playing with them, just to lube them a bit. Was that a bad idea is rem oil okay to use?
I think I would have lubricated it all with a pencil or graphite dry lubricant instead of any wet lubricant because I think you’re going to run into issues attracting debris and having it build up
My initial reaction is this thing seems incredibly non pocket friendly. But maybe I just don't understand it yet. Regardless comment for the algorithm 👍 thanks Nick!
The only type of knife I don’t have in my collection is a gravity knife and this is the one on my list if u ever want to trade it I’m in 100%. I can give u a list of knives for trade and I would also send my side of the trade 1st for your piece of mind. I know this gravity knife is around $300 and the trade will be fair at the very least if interested please reply and let me know how u would like to get it done.
Are the plugs/ inserts in the phospor-bronze bushing magnets? It's sad you can't say the "g" word without getting demonitized or have the algorithm used against you.
@@garfreld he was talking about the patches being used to clean other things "guns" but UA-cam doesn't like that and I've heard people being demonitized for mentioning guns in their videos. He didn't say the word "gun" in the video because it would hurt his UA-cam algorithm.
Keep this knife DRY. Any lubrication collects crap, crap ruins any action. Maybe a little oil on the pivot once or twice a year, but otherwise let it run and blow it out with compressed air.
That is a graphite plugged bronze bushing. Those little black dots are dry graphite. They are self lubricating and don’t need any - never mind.
Those plugs on pb bushing could potentially be grapphite pieces used for lubrication, but I am just guessing (grapphite is a great lubricant)
That's my guess as well.
Edit: If that's the case, It will need to run dry then.

Why? Tuya makes an amazing clip slip that fits this perfectly. That's the best way to carry it.
@@regan.8077 I never even looked for a pocket slip for this I found an easy solution in seconds I'll check em out thanks for the heads up!!
@@josuetorres4483 yep. The brand is tuya and you'll need the large size.

This knife didn't really appeal to me at first, but man, is it growing on me. I might have to get one. Awsome video as always!

Great disassembly and maintenance vid.
Nicely done. Love the knife, great breakdown from the master.
Super easy to maintain! Probably going to be my next EDC. I wouldn't lube it that much, if any though.
Finally. The anti Nick Shabazz knife.
You ain't wrong.
Would definitely want a comb version additional blade parts.
yesss
I didn't know that Gilbert Gottried started doing knife videos. This is really cool! I expect me Reate EXO OG to be delivered on Wednesday!.
i also love this knife. I carry mine in a balisong pocket slip. it is pure joy.
Is it possible the black circles on the bronze bushing are graphite rods pressed it for dry lubrication?
I pre-ordered one from JD Cutlery. I can't wait.
Well?
É um conceito interessante. O modelo Exo-M, que tem trava e clip de bolso, soa como algo que faria sentido pro dia-a-dia mesmo.
What makes the grip to stop at a certain angle???
The plugs might be some kind of slow release lubricant?
If they added a button lock of some sort and a pocket clip I would definitely buy this thing.
You definitely got your wish
They got a button lock one now lol😂
The Nick's inner Roxette fan make an appearance at 0:46
That’s why I held on tight.
Also, you should not lubricate the track. It's better to run it dry just for future reference.
I'm curious as to what torx driver you use in your videos. If anyone know what kind it is please let me know tia...

Where can I buy it? Help with internatcional Link
Its amazing to me how simple it is
Those plugs are graphite. They provide the lubrication.
Not a big lover of gravity knives, but still a nice looking piece of kit.
Well you should be....

Thats a good oil to use in general but completely unnecessary in this case
where and how can i get a OG Reate EXO?
A little late to the party, so you may have already found one... But they're available on Blade HQ
@@Buzz-Killjoy unfortunatle they dont have a drop point blade. all they have in stock is that ugly square blade thing
Nice. Thank you
Good luck finding one, they're sold out constantly.

Just use any kind of slip, sheath, etc. problem solved. Like, you wouldn’t just throw a bare fixed blade in your pocket would you?

Oiling this knife is stupid! One of the benefits of this construction is no need in oiling.
When do you need oil?
Well worth thirty or forty bucks
