As Russia's war in Ukraine rages, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is rallying support for an upcoming peace summit which will be hosted by Switzerland next month. Zelensky has appealed to US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the peace summit. More than 80 countries will be attending the summit, however, this does not include Russia. Amid growing reports of a purge within the Russian Defence Ministry, Russian President Valdimir Putin has spoken out about the prospect of a peace deal. Putin says - Zelensky won't have legitimacy after his five-year term as president of Ukraine expires. Palki Sharma tells you more.

His tenure as the Ukrainian President has expired a few months ago. Ukraine was supposed to have general elections about 2 to 3 months ago but he cancelled it as he claims there cannot be an election while the war is ongoing.

Ukraine has consistently removed ranking members that have been involved in any sort of corruption throughout these past 2 years. Zelensky just became president in 2019 where he was just a comedian before.
