I knew at #13 "gold foil font" that Needful Things is also going to make the list but wouldn't have guessed #1. For some weird reason this is also my favorite, the book's spine has always hit my eye in a pleasing way in my bookshelf. Seems there is some unexplainable beauty in it, the red and gold in combination maybe...
Great picks. Shout outs for the paperback versions of The Shining with the silver foil and the dark silhouette of Danny's hair and for The Stand - the raven eye overlaid over The Walking Dude's eyes. Duma Key hardcover is excellent too.
I actually agree with Needful Things being one of the top covers. And people should also check out the great atmosphere-building illustrations _inside_ of Needful Things
The Dark Half is by Don Brautigam (who did quite a few King covers back in the day, mostly paperbacks). Pet Sematary by Linda Fennimore. Suntup Press has/had prints of these covers for sale, with the artist credited.
Top-15 (all hardcovers): 1) Different Seasons 2) The Drawing of the Three 3) Needful Things 4) Duma Key 5) The Regulators/Desperation 6) The Wind Through the Keyhole (Grant version, not that lame Scribner version) 7) The Dark Tower VII (special edition with the black Stephen King font) 8) Fairy Tale 9) The Stand Uncut 10) Misery 11) Pet Sematary (UK version is arguably even better) 12) The Shining (UK version) 13) Under the Dome 14) 11/22/63 15) Christine HM: Eyes of the Dragon, Mr. Mercedes, Bazaar of Bad Dreams
Artwork for books used to be a lot more "inkier" and artistic. Most books these days look like they were printed with a digital technique. I don't care for it. I never knew that would happen. I should have hung on to more of my books from yesteryear. Good list!
Thank you for affirming my little obsession with book covers, i'm currently collecting his new covers just out, very beautiful designs on the most part and a wonderful departure from kings 2000s covers,, very bland and not grabbing your attention at all. subbed
You mean you're not ranking every Stephen King book cover? I kind of like the old cheesy ones for The Stand and Running Man. If I link anything, youtube will delete it.
I love Brian’s videos. Nothing but heart. Dreamcatcher and Under The Dome are some of my faves.

i always love the old cover arts with the big shiney writing. i agree with all your choices
My favorite Michael Whelan is the cover he did for the Suntup Press version of Fahrenheit 451.
Great picks. Shout outs for the paperback versions of The Shining with the silver foil and the dark silhouette of Danny's hair and for The Stand - the raven eye overlaid over The Walking Dude's eyes.
Duma Key hardcover is excellent too.
You and Mike are a daily watch for me - love everything you do!
I love those videos, keep them up...nothing better than a ranking of SKs

I'm glad that you, like me, think that Needful Things is one of Kings best works.
Have you seen the UK hardcover for The Dark Half ? Its absolutely stunning.
The Dark Half paperback cover is by Don Brautigam. And I actually own the original painting.
I really enjoy the covers of the dark tower series 😊
I love the sleeping beauties cover ❤
You should make top 10 covers of all your books

Which should I read first between Desperation and Regulators?
