Can you help me understand what the sleeving line is? What brand, type of line, weight? I can’t for the love of anything find bulk “sleeving” line. Thank you.

      Hi there!
Some quick information on sleeving lines.
Sleeving is like a tube sock that we put on the ends of spectra kite lines or any place where we tie a knot. Sleeving is made of hollow braided Dacron and is usually positioned at either end of each line where the line connects via a Larkshead Knot to the flying straps or to the kite tow point. (Google search)
Here's another link that might be helpful: www.metropolis-drachen.de/en/Accessories/Kite-lines/Sleeving-line/
      Hope that helps! :-)

@@aerialiskites Thank you for your responses.
I have used Shanti line and own and have used the same stuff you linked. As a mater of fact the stuff I have was ordered from that exact site.
I am very familiar with the process of sleeving, splicing and most things line/rope related (this isn't my main concern).
I've have been trying my hardest to find an actual source for bulk "Sleeving" line. Like the manufacture or exactly what the line it is called (if what we call "sleeving line" is really called something else from the manufacturer and just works a treat for our uses). I can tell from the Shanti Black and white that I have it isn't just run of the mill Dacron. It's a much loser braid with a very hollow center.
I've ordered and tried all different sizes of Dacron form many manufactures and cant seem to find anything like what all these "sleeving kits" are using or what the Shanti line is made from. I can tell you from the box full of various "Braided Dacron" spools, it isn't just run of the mill Dacron. It really has to be a certain type or braid that I just cant seem to find.
I've read so many different forum posts and google searches and I know there is a source out there and it isn't "de-core some bridle line" (which also seems impossible to find in bulk and if you can it wouldn't be very cost effective). I am also in the US for reference sake.
I just don't get how no one seems to know what the line actual is. Like oh yeah I've got a spool, well what does it say on the label? No website says what it is, like its a mystery line or something. There is a factory making this stuff and someone knows what its actually called and where to buy it, I am really determined to find that info out. something tells me though since they get to sell 35 cents worth of "sleeving kit" for $15 they like keeping us in the dark of what the source is.
I Apologize if I've unloaded a bit too much info but I've started to notice when it comes to this topic most people assume I'm just asking "how to Sleeve" not "What exactly is Sleeving material and where can I buy it in bulk, or what is it actually called?"
Thank you again and if you have any additional info to add that would be great too.

Any tips on where to buy the climax lines in more than 100m spools? I assume the large spool is much longer?

I used to buy spools of 1000m from Level One Kites when I was running my online kite shop some years ago. Bilboquet (France) also used to carry flying lines on spools, 1000m. I'm not sure if you can get hold of the spools from these suppliers anymore.
However, I did a quick goodle search and found this:
      * www.devliegerwinkel.nl/gb/kite-lines/1321-916-dyneema-1000m-50kg-wit-pre-stretched.html
I haven't purchased from them, but I presume they deliver! Why not contact them?!👍
...and please let me know it if works out!

@@aerialiskites Page down for maintenance , will check it out later. thanks for the tip. I contactd you previously regarding building supplies for å DIY kite. Ended up ordering a cheap (albatross) quad. Probably both heavy and crude but very fun to fly (with enough wind and proper lines) compared to the two line HQ Symphonies. Anyhow, Freilen windrider 3 (vented)on it's way with clomplete rods for a secon build, and already drooling over your lighter(wind) kites;) I may try to build a full sail with T2 crystal rods out of ripstop from a wrecked traction kite.

Gave up sourcing large spools of proper kite line. Ready made sets are almost as cheap after shipping.. But, I found that the newest fireline fishing line in 0,39mm is 8strand braided dyneema, and I have made a 10 m lineset from that. Cleaned some of the wax with degreaser on a cloth. 30kg breaking force and available all over the place.
