I believe God chooses our spouse, just like Sarah was the chosen one for Abraham, because He has a purpose and a plan for that marriage. However, I also believe He allows us to choose on our own even if it is against His will, like Abraham and Hagai.
God absolutely chooses your spouse, if you are called according to His purpose. So if you accepted the invitation to follow God, He has someone ordained for you. This is to advance God’s kingdom. This is for His Kingdom agenda.
I gave up on men cuz when I was in my flesh I was a serial dater. I realized I put men before God. I then later became saved. And I put God above all. Then he tested me and I was in wilderness for over a year. He then blessed me when I was faithful holding on to Him. He then gave me a dream about an old classmate, then the Lord said He was going to be my husband. We are now engaged
@MS LRJ God gave me a dream to send him my testimony. And it actually confirmed his ministry after he prayed himself and seconds later after he was done my testimony came to him (which he was asking for...testimonies) then the Lord told him I was going to be his wife. I myself did not confirmation but I tested this man with the Word of God. Is he going to lead me closer to Christ. Does he have the fruit of the Spirit, etc..
I gave up on someone I have loved for decades. I don’t think he wants to marry anyone ever. I thought he was the one for me. I am leaning on God’s grace to help me
He is so right and wise on this. I waited 2 years for a man that God told me was my husband, met him, courted but that same man didn’t choose me later on. God gives us the spiritual maturity as He presents someone to see the biblical ground for a marriage. He does present good men and women but we also have to be ready to see God bless it and each other. 🙏🏽
I just trust the holy spirit to bring the man God wants for me he he will bring him into my life it's God's perfect timing not mine Yes I trust my heavenly father t y God bless
If only I had seen this earlier, i was misguided in this by my spiritual leader who kept controlling the narrative between me and my fiance and ultimately my wedding was called off from the other side due to this constant intimidating that it was not God's will after knowing each other for 4years.
I’m so sorry this happened to you 😢 That was not a spiritual leader, but a spiritual abuser preying on you. Shawn gives a healthy perspective on making godly choices. Hope this helps you navigate your current relationships 🙏🏻
I do not believe there is "the one" as it is not stated in the Bible. I agree with the statement that was made where it was stated that there should be spiritual compatibility. When we get saved, a lot of us keep the ways of the world and don't have a transformation of our minds as we are instructed to in Romans 12. Hence, we think like the world in that there is a "soulmate". If this were true, then no one would re-marry after the death of a spouse. I know a lady who said there were three men who wanted to marry her and she asked God which one she should marry. She said God told her it was up to her to choose. Whenever we are courting someone, we should first and foremost make sure they are born again and then we look at other things like their vision, goals, likes, and dislikes. And of course, we should pray. We need the guidance of the Holy Spirit every day and in every way... at least that is my prayer and desire.
An ungodly man predated me, only in hindsight knowing fully. Rejected him. Church people encouraged it even though they knew he was not a Christian. He had never talked of faith but was pushed “to pray him into the kingdom. Unknown things, he had previously sexually assaulted a married woman in a tour group he was guide because he reckoned he deserved it because she was drunk. Told a year after married. When he also said never loved. Saw the demons driving him, church people said to pray for him. Rape, mental torture constantly. Church and world said marriage counselling which he would not do. Threatened with he will decide when he thought I had left. Was terribly I’ll and he just watched the sepsis and convulsions wrack the body. Hissed threats. Things he did before and after engagement and dreams of what he was brushed off. Spoke to him briefly at a wedding. He was a couple hundred kms away but knew where worked. Did not contact me until he heard was engaged to another man. He faked conversion and infilling to blind church. I still told them. Forced himself on me. Told he would undo my faith…they would not listen. After wedding was unhappily taken half way across continent where he knew didn’t like…pastors wife saw through him, not a Christian. Twice. Demonic attacks. Non Christian parents determined that it was for life. Watched him do wrong. When he raped was the first time he showed how dark and evil his face. Think he white anted before going to see doctor to doctor…had been on good terms but could not get far before consult ended. Waited for parents to die when response was your an orphan now..rip open my grief. He said owed him inheritance. He actually manifested as Satan in an act of pure hate and ripped out the last of my soul. Physically attacked by them. Daughter’s trauma from him had her hate him with dark depth but he has got her with finance. Turned them against the person that lived. Financially stripped. Parents had seen him misuse but did not take back. When forsaken he sqashed her complaints by telling doctors illness not real, even the spinal cord damage that was being treated crippled, sent to a private clinic, victim thinking a place to rest and recover with chaplains could talk to. God was banned but mystic meditation allowed. He had given hem an agenda. Given a tablet for the depression but it gave an exploding storm in my head that felt the blood vessel burst and immobilised and fell to the ground. Not treated or documented. Rejected. Physically abused. Brain fried for saying demonic. Home church leadership changed to someone bad when he was ‘dating’. He should have been dragged before elders when he said never loved. Beginning thought him odd and guesses of his personality pointed to the Asperger’s and narcissistic. Society watched the Big Bang show as comedy. True life but no laughter….nasty and dehumanising. Heartless.
Scripture shows there is only one. Look at Abraham and Sarah. God told him your heir is not with Hagar. The one is Sarah. Again. Isaac and Rebekah. The angel went before the servant and asked who’s the one? It was Rebekah. It wasn’t a wonder in fact no dating. Very cool but scripture is clear.
People do marry in the flesh and birth Ishmaels thats the fact especially if they have kingdom assignment the enemny can derail one....so seek God and don't listen to the naysayers...
You are so right. Saw that numerous times in my surrounding and callings crash at the shore of an ungodly marriage people didn't pray through for breakthrough (yet).
The Gospel: Plain and Simple “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” - 2 Corithians 11:3 Ask someone today if they are saved and you will most likely hear responses like these: “I have accepted Jesus into my heart.” Or “I have made him Lord of my life.” “I’ve been baptized.” “I said a prayer.” Sounds all good and churchy don’t it; but it is difficult to de-termine whether or not a person actually knows the gospel that saves them. These useless phrases don’t describe a thing about what the gospel is and has left a devastating effect of people not knowing what it is that they are saved from nor how they are saved; which leaves a more serious effect of people questioning their salvation. Let’s not muddy the simplicity of salvation that is in Christ with vague church sounding phrases that do not communicate anything. But rather present God’s word with clarity and assuredness. So here is the gospel: plain and simple. Sin was passed upon all men by one man Adam, and death is a consequence of this sin (Rom 5:12). Mankind has an eternal destiny of condemnation and wrath - Hell - because of this sin (Rom 6:23). No matter what good works one might do we are still found sinners in the sight of our Creator God. And all unrighteousness and those who follow get indignation and wrath. We cannot be found righteous for by God’s law we are found sinners (Rom 3:19-20). If we have broken even one law we are found guilty. It is for this reason of not being able to create our own righteousness and being born in a sinful flesh that we need a savior (Titus 3:5). Christ is that Savior, God manifested in the flesh, sinless, died in our place on a cross 2000 years ago. Taking upon him the wrath and judgement that was intended for us sinners. And it is through his bloodshed, burial, and resurrection on our behalf that we are able to have peace with God and forgiveness of our sins (1 Cor 15:1-4, Col 3:14). This good news is unto all but only those that believe in it are made righteous in Christ (Romans 3:22). It is then after we have heard this good news of Christ’s righteousness available to us freely, that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and we are now part of Christ’s body the church (Eph 1:13) There is nothing that we need to do, no good works that are required, and no bad works that can separate us from our new position in Christ (Romans 8:35-39). Faith and belief in this information from God’s word is the gospel. The gospel is not accepting Jesus into your heart. The gospel is not making him lord of your life, it is not saying a prayer and it is not being baptized with water. So next time someone asks you if you are saved. A very wise perspective on marriage/dating. Thank you!
Is there still hope for someone in their 60s?
@Di with God we have an endless hope, and with God all things are possible. If you have the desire then wait on God to bring it to pass.
Of course! Did you see Shawn Boltz word for marriages in 2023? Should look up that video :)
This is so good- I needed this. Perfect timing 👆🏻😅♥️

God doesn't tell you to trust your humanity without seeing His guidance this is very erroneous. He is WAY off base.
"empowered choices"? This conversation is mostly nonsense. God does and God doesn't , brilliant prophetic utterance. And you think you're a prophet...
The Gospel:
Plain and
Simple
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent
beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your
minds should be corrupted from the simplicity
that is in Christ.” - 2 Corithians 11:3
Ask someone today if they are saved and
you will most likely hear responses like these:
“I have accepted Jesus into my heart.” Or “I
have made him Lord of my life.” “I’ve been
baptized.” “I said a prayer.” Sounds all good
and churchy don’t it; but it is difficult to de-termine whether or not a person actually
knows the gospel that saves them. These useless phrases don’t describe a thing about what
the gospel is and has left a devastating effect
of people not knowing what it is that they are
saved from nor how they are saved; which
leaves a more serious effect of people questioning their salvation.
Let’s not muddy the simplicity of salvation that is in Christ with vague church
sounding phrases that do not communicate
anything. But rather present God’s word with
clarity and assuredness. So here is the gospel:
plain and simple.
Sin was passed upon all men by one man
Adam, and death is a consequence of this sin
(Rom 5:12). Mankind has an eternal destiny of
condemnation and wrath - Hell - because of
this sin (Rom 6:23). No matter what good
works one might do we are still found sinners
in the sight of our Creator God. And all unrighteousness and those who follow get indignation and wrath. We cannot be found
righteous for by God’s law we are found sinners (Rom 3:19-20). If we have broken even
one law we are found guilty.
It is for this reason of not being able to
create our own righteousness and being born
in a sinful flesh that we need a savior (Titus
3:5). Christ is that Savior, God manifested in
the flesh, sinless, died in our place on a cross
2000 years ago. Taking upon him the wrath
and judgement that was intended for us sinners. And it is through his bloodshed, burial,
and resurrection on our behalf that we are
able to have peace with God and forgiveness
of our sins (1 Cor 15:1-4, Col 3:14). This good
news is unto all but only those that believe in
it are made righteous in Christ (Romans
3:22).
It is then after we have heard this good
news of Christ’s righteousness available to us freely, that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit
and we are now part of Christ’s body the
church (Eph 1:13)
There is nothing that we need to do, no
good works that are required, and no bad
works that can separate us from our new position in Christ (Romans 8:35-39).
Faith and belief in this information from
God’s word is the gospel.
The gospel is not accepting Jesus into your
heart. The gospel is not making him lord of
your life, it is not saying a prayer and it is not
being baptized with water.
So next time someone asks you if you are
