We opened a restaurant in a small town in the middle of Ireland way back in 97... We played all the Cafe del Mar stuff, hotel costas, All back to mines... But I loved this album, always played for Sunday lunch.. Most of the staff, me included, only coming into work from all night house parties... How we got through service I'll never know😂😂😂 Haven't heard this in a long time and it takes me right back... Thank you!
@@warricoco4650 No! We closed up in 2018, 21 great years.. It was our family's restaurant... Music was a big part from the start..We were always crazy busy and won loads of awards but things change I suppose and we closed up. They were great days though.. Hard work but really enjoyable, great buzz flying through service with tunes on. Brings back lots of memories listening to these albums👍
All the Cafe Del Mar albums from the early to mid 90's bring back so many memories for me. My parents always had them playing on the weekends or whenever they had guests over. I still listen to them in 2023 and the songs still sound great!
I first heard "A Man Called Adam" on a business flight. At that moment I didn't know what Chill Out was. After that I got to know the productions of "Café Del Mar". So I became a music producer of this style. Tks "Café Del Mar" and all the producers and musicians that turned my life better!
Listen to this..close your eyes and feel the ocean, the summer and everything..cafe del mar took me always to a holiday..especially now thtat corona made the distance..love this music❤️❤️
I spent two weeks in India's Goa in 1997. There was a small reed bar on the beach whose music perfectly suited the atmosphere. The waves of the Arabian Sea play on the shore. At sunset, the animals also gathered there. It was amazing. Before I left, I asked what music I had heard. Since that day, the first volumes of Cafe del Mar have always returned to my mind and I have listened to them. Thanks Jose Padilla.🌴🙏
Picture a perfect Queensland sunset on Sandy Straight next to Fraser Island. TWO houseboats filled with good close friends partying and relaxing for TWO whole glorious weeks. Mooring in the most spectacular locations, crystal clear waters and golden sandy beaches, it was January 1996 and this compilation was our anthem, unbelievably precious and amazing times. Still weep about that one.
beautiful times man.I remember, I had just moved to Sydney and this was the soundtrack to crazy parties in Darlinghurst, everyone was playing this CD and life was good. we were young and uninhibited. no iPhones just music and laughing and partying.
25+ years gone, pffft. Just like that. It is then. I am there. Who knew back in the mid 90s that I was hammering in one of the audio lynchpins of my life into my mind, just soaking up this comp every chance I could get? Not I, not until tonight.
Café de mar soy adicta a esta música me inspira. Me relaja. Me hace sentir tantas lindas emociones. Mil felicitaciones a sus productores y solistas. Ich liebe so sehr diese Musik. Dankeschön.
Brings back so much memories , feels like I’m in my old house that’s not mine anymore, and still going to the places that’s not near me anymore. Magic!

Brilliant. I went to the Greek Islands by myself and went to the new Cafe Del Mar cafe on Paros. Located on the ocean with the water lapping the edge. Highlight of my life.
Collection from 1995... Wow, they don't produce such music anymore.. Great compilation 👍 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍 🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵 45:55 Sargosso Sea! 😄 I didn't know, that this is so old!

Keeping my head bobbing since 1995 till today. Want to chill by the pool? Vol 2. Want to enjoy dinner with mates? Vol 2. Want to tan in the summer sun? Vol 2. Want music to sleep to? Vol. 2!!!❤️
Every day a little closer to that one album of yours that I bought all those years ago. I can't figure out which in your discography it was but these historical re-releases are a treat!
Talk about memories!!!! 🤔😊😁😜🤪😋😛😎 I had a collection of cassettes recorded from shows on University radio, in Toronto Canada. Uof T or Ryerson, of parts of the Cafe Del Mar series back then!! Hell, it's a main part of how I evolved my Rhythmic and Musical Chops, and incorporated world influenced modern music from the world. Which I first discovered in, Algeria, Morocco, Spain, Italy, and Portugal in its earlier original forms of the Ethno-folk , and Ethno-pop etc. during my 4 months in The Med., March to June 1980. I wonder, where can I get lists of the artists for each volume I want to revive/incorporate this era fully into my music! Since it is my roots and all the artists I listen to have surely trained in Ibiza, and/or were influenced by the era, and Ibiza. during the middle period of the techno masters like Deep Forest to Jean Michel Jarre. I had hand written partial.artist lists/credits, university DJ's didn't always remember to give those out either they talked too fast SNORT< SNORT, or just blanked (PUFF, PUFF, PASS, PASS).... into another dimension.....) AHHH but so did I headphones and ganja....😝 A 50 year traditional ride !!! And then my collection left me one day, when my whole cassette collection was stolen in 2012. And yes I tried to find the series on C. Disc at the end of the Millennium. Sadly. I was not able to find where I was situated during that period, That being West Coast Canada and the interior wine country of BC. But I was fortunate find a truckload of second hand Putamayo C. Disks and a boatload of world music from international musicians of the 90's. That genre of music was, and still is, like the western US, "BIG in BC" !! Universities and hippies :)))) (I was one and I have proof), generations of !!!! I can't thank the curator(s) of this project enough!!! 🤩🤩🤩🥰😍🤗 So I will start by trying to buy the series again. I'm fully digitally evolved. Please..... Check out my free UA-cam (video only) evolution demo's..channel, of cover/improvs of music by the 20th masters and the 21st century progeny of that ERA... And which can take you to my originals, and cover/improvs -(audio and videos), free Reverbnation channel. A "Gift" not given is a gift wasted. Ciao
My intro to the Cafe del Mar music was from collection No. 4 (1998). I was blown away and I needed nothing to enhance mood, just eyes shut and chilling through spaces.
Wasn't Jose Padilla the compiler of the early series? Very nice. I have the first twelve or thirteen on CD then Cafe del Mar got stupid and stopped releasing via this method. I value dynamic fidelity.
