They are From Japan. The Bass player is Juna Serita. They've been playing for approximately 4 years. Great Band
thank you for this info
They call Juna "The Princess of Funk"
Absolutely awesome, not often that music gives chills, but damn. They all blended their instruments well, and together. My wish would be to find a CD of their music, particularly this song and others similar. Amazing job ladies of Tokyo Groove Jyoshi.
indeed
The electric keyboard can imitate any instrument. I’m a guitarist and a keyboard player. As for the group TGJ, those musicians are the best females I have heard in a while. I love their style and feel for the music. Excellent musicians. 🙏
i definitely know that the keyboard can imitate all other instrument , but I been a guitar player for over 30yrs. , no keyboard can trick me , i know the authentic sound of a guitar , but otherwise i agree with you , these ladies are amazing
Yes, Juna (on bass) has said that there are tracks for guitar, more keys and another horn. Everything else is live. Also, they are a band based in Japan. If you like this, watch the entire video. It's about half an hour long and it's called Yippee Kitty Music Festival. It is well worth watching.
oh thank you ... i will certainly check it out ... full vid
@@GlassesKingdom Hope you saw some of Juna's bass solos. She's pretty restrained here, content to fit in the pocket playing fingerstyle, but she's up there in the elite class of slap bassists in the world right now.
These girls on fire 🔥 🔥🔥
I've been grooving to Tokyo Groove Jyoshi for the last couple of years
They play straight up Jazz, Jazz Fusion & even Funk
They are consummate musicians! 🔥
The bassist here Juna Serita is called 'The Bassist Of Funk" also plays keyboards, drums & has even started Saxophone &Violin lessons..she even produces, posts & edits her own videos on UA-cam..she was playing gigs in The States for awhile with different bands but I think she has since returned to Japan
This is pure Jazz Funk man...can hear the Crusaders all over it. Love it.
Actually, Juna is known as The Princess of Funk. 😉
That sax player is outstanding. 😎
They are on their way. Absolutely marvelous.
Amazing! Very talented young ladies and assertive comments.
We agree!
@@GlassesKingdom ❤
That bassist Juna Serita...I don't know what they're putting in the milk in Japan but, mmm....that or her Hello Me genetic test is gonna comeback with some surprise melanin levels. You should see some videos where she solos. That girl can thump!!
The guitar player isn't there but he's sort of a permanent guest since he's in a good many of their videos. Check out one of their latest videos called Waaaa and you'll see him. That's him, I believe, also in the video 'Spark' with Juna Serita and MiMi.
If I recall correctly, this is a Juna original.
no Juna didn't write this Shoji Takamatsu did
I believe the bass player Juna wrote most of the music for the band. Check out What is hip cover.
they are Outstanding❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh yea it’s Funky 🤜🏾🤜🏾🤜🏾🤜🏾
Y'all need to watch Juna and the keyboard player in this UA-cam video >>>
What’s Going on&Mercy Mercy Me Medley(Cover)-TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI with Sarah Maeda(Sax)
or Juna and her buddies in this UA-cam video - if you really wanna see some bass mastery >>>
Spark - Juna Serita
neither were pre- recorded like this video, .....Y'all can thank me later 👍🏽👍🏽
I’ll thank you right now!
Coool musicians! Badasss beatuties,too!
yup
Plenty O' Stank fo' everybody. Dang. Great vid. Great vibe.
Juna doesn't really get cut loose in this song. She's a monster on bass!
According to bass player comment they add guitar and other hone as backing track. I love this song, cool!
I play this song bass n uploaded my channel that is only in the world. I’m
proud about that. Hehe. Thanks great vid!
Thanks for the info!
I thought that's what they did. I have seen so much "edited" music videos that I'm never sure that what I am seeing is the real thing. These gals certainly appear to be very talented. They are..... IN THE GROOVE.......
@@raycewilliams3300
Yup. I definitely agree. They’re real talented girls. So cool
@@GlassesKingdom
I am grad to you
Go to Juna's channel and look for her album!
There are quite a few added tracks that they are playing along with. Trumpet an octave up from the tenor sax. And I'm hearing a flute in there somewhere.. Still, these ladies are funking out and grooving hard!
you are definitely right about the trumpet , i also know there were some keyboard parts too , I'm not so sure i can say there's much flute , but its possible , thanks for your input , means a lot
They are fro Japan
I believe they are from Japan but now live in the US. The bass player Juno Serita definitely does.
no she doesn't, she just went over for a short while to work. She's now with the Jazz Avengers in Japan
❤️❤️❤️❤️👌👍💕😍
Someone on another channel mentioned that there is a track they are playing with their live performance.
Right
In addition to the guitar there is also another horn in there playing along with the sax.
@@Nooziterp1 yes that’s right
nice

I crashed into this one 😂😂😂😂
lol
Guitar have been recorded before. TGJ explain it in comments.
oh thank you
I know these ladies are legit, not questioning that. But I heard the guitar at the beginning, too and I don't see the guitarist. I also hear a trumpet playing along with the sax. Not sure about this.
you are correct , its in the overdubs or on a track playing along
I came across these ladies about two years ago and fell in love with their music. I like the drummer but their previous drummer, Yuriko Seki, has more soul in her playing. The bassist is Juna who was replaced by Rina. A couple of their numbers Juna also wrote. You can also find Juna, Harumo(sax) on tour. One of the first videos I saw of Juna Serita was her original Princess of Funk with MiMi on drums and Harumo Imai in the brass section. I also like Spark by Juna.
There wasn't a backing track. Blame the camera operator(s) for not showing more of Juna and Emi.
True Talent , omg the bass player
Juna Serita!
Please react to DEA Matrona a band of three Irish girls basking in the street of Belfast!!
Unbelievable talents!
Please check out their You Tube Channel!!!
done
the saxoplayer play in a jazz style! Great band!
Awesome piece of music - just sublime.
They're brilliant 🤯
they have a vibe
Sorcery sure describes it... but where is the rhythm guitar? I hear it but can't see it.
Did I hear a flute?
quite possibly you did @@ricardoedmondson5099
Some Herbie sound here...!
Blog your own..make some effort
this was all you had to add ?, well sorry there's no value to it since i have so much of my own music on line
