    Laci, you didn't lose a lot of friends, just learned who your friends actually are. If that turns out to be only 1 person, so be it. Better off for it.

      I'd suggest you keep a healthy amount of skepticism in regards to Laci. You should generally question the motives of any public figure who suddenly flips on a topic, especially if the timing seems convenient. In this case, mainstream culture has been pulling away from third-wave inter-sectional feminism, so this could just as easily be a strategic move. One that seems to be working, and gaining her some new right-wing fans, just because every group likes their pet defectors.
      That may just be me, though. I too much of a cynic for my own good sometimes.

    On the religious aspect of it, I've been thinking on it more and more lately, humans have had some sort of religious belief for thousands of years, why did people assume that humans wouldn't find something to replace it?

      @revolverDOOMGUY 7 років тому +5

      The sad thing about is that we could have substitute it with good things, like the desier of self improvement, a human coalition for our betterment and technological advancement, a form of spirituality ecc. Instead we litterally took the wors parts: tough cencoring, violence and conquest; and applie it to and ideology where diverse people are the gods and saints. For a while i tought that religion having less importance was going to be good for humanity but now i see there is a reason it exists, it has a function.

So because I disagreed with them on something like that, they ditched me after 10 years.

    Laci Green In my opinion represents a sex positive type of feminism that is morally sound, balanced, and communicative. Where she has problems is where she runs into people seeking personal authoritarian power from within a movement rather than the self empowerment for all defined and limited by equality or the equitable utility in a power structured relationship where talents shared serve one another and mutual wellbeing.

      Abdul Alhaz to me see she looks like a very immature person, like a child. She doesn't come across to me as a very smart person who thinks things out or even begins to understand what makes a balanced person emotionally, spiritually, or physically. She looks like she won't give up the victim complex either constantly looking like she is going to cry and the whole thing about being scared to say tranny was rediculous and made it seem like she is really afraid that someone was gonna burst through into the studio and beat her up for saying it. That kind of drama she made up just made me cringe. She just came across as fake. But maybe that's just to me and I. Totally wrong about her.

  • @ChrisBarkerFlotsam
    @ChrisBarkerFlotsam 7 років тому

    The question Laci asks at the end is very pertinent, and also difficult. It was: "How do we create moral systems for humans without devolving into this trash ?" The "trash" she speaks about refers to the anxiety of saying something wrong, the sniping and suspicion, the endless judgement about whether you are a "good" or "bad" person, that she reports on in her community.
    The issue is always "judgement". Who holds the sword? We should ask "who is the final judge of good and bad?" If you say that is another ("but the rules say..."), then you will always be led around like a bull with a ring through it's nose. If you say the final judge is you, then you must steel yourself to take on the moral yoke. It is no easy move. Nietzsche said that yes, we had killed God (the one law whom we are all judged by (the father, the book)), incapable of replacing him.
    All the dressed up sycophants who circle the mere administration of the law should go and re-read the Crucible, look at the House Unamerican Activities committee, look at the pogroms, look at the Mill gram experiment, Salem witch Trails, and any other number of "in group" and "out group" types of activities that history provides for us. The point is that we are PRIMED to want to be "in" and not "out" but we can't even begin to question morality without first getting to the bottom of that urge. Right to the bottom of it.
    And, unfortunately, that takes experience, wisdom, not knowing so much, and all that is the antithesis of the "quick fix, don't even have to get off the couch" quality of ideology, where being a good or a bad person is just a matter of thinking the right or wrong way. No actual effort required.

    "If this is what gets you thrown out, then fuck you, throw me out." YES. This applies to being unfairly ejected from any in-crowd ever. There's something sublimely liberating about a) being unfairly bullied/verbally abused and b) being shunned, as long as you are 100% positive that such treatment is the result of you standing up for your convictions. It's at that point when you sit by and observe the other person/group foaming at the mouth and think to yourself, "Thank god you're behaving in such an obviously crazy way, otherwise I might worry that I could be the problem." The lunacy of the other side (in any such conflict) frees you from any self doubt.

    I've noticed something about that word "bigot" the last few years, in that the people who are the first to use it as an accusation are very often the biggest bigots themselves, and not surprisingly, it's usually a Feminist SJW who slings that word around.
    I guess my problem is, "bigot" and "bigotry" are words with very specific meanings and very specific applications, not words meant to be used to shut down the argument of someone you just don't agree with or put them on the defensive. Like most things SJWs touch, it's lost all meaning at this point.

    I learned long ago through hard life experience that life is too difficult as it is to get sucked into this kind of drama. I applaud her standing up for common sense and what she thinks is right but if her "friends" and allies are going to turn against her on a dime then you just have to turn them loose. Personally, I don't have enough time for the people who really truly care about me to waste time on people who don't. Wish I had learned that lesson when I was her age. Would have saved a lot of drama and angst.

  • @The_Real_Frisbee

    I never understood the thing about losing friends over different viewpoints. I have different viewpoints with a lot of my friends, but we're still friends. We're adult enough to know that despite what our political views are, we get along together and we still enjoy each others company. If anything, having friends with opposing viewpoints is more beneficial than having friends who share viewpoints. You get to see things in a different light. You teach them and they teach you.
    I guess what I'm getting at is why are we basing our friendships on political leaning? It shouldn't matter if they have a different opinion.

      Yes, she does, because she *holds on to it*. My point is if I wanted to I could forever recount the numerous times in my life I've had my life threatened if I want to take every threat as a genuine one. It's taking what people say in a moment of passing frustration as something literal and then building upon it a narrative that really doesn't exist to nearly the extent that some would like us to believe. It's divisive and it makes monsters out of regular human beings who are just being idiotic for a moment- something we are all guilty of.

    • @rasdasa
      @rasdasa 7 років тому +5

      My point is that on the internet it might very well be an 11 year old trolling you(and most of the time it is), so stop acting like when they threaten your life it's something to call yourself a victim over, which is exactly what she's parroting. Just look at the comments section, I'm not the only one picking up on this. How many times have you had people scream at you and threaten your life online, especially while gaming, to me personally it's on a weekly bases. If I were to internalize all of that and make it into something I would think that all of society was rampant with violent sociopaths. And that's poisonous for me and for everyone else.

    What is wrong with cooking, cleaning the house and looking after your offspring?
    What is wrong with a little bit of sacrifice for the greater good?
    I know my dad is where he is today partly because of the support and loyalty my mom has given him.

    A moral system without the crazy persecution complex? The problem with moral systems is that they are founded on moral judgments, not qualitative judgments.

    It's a very common thing that has happened to this lady, she has grown up. This condition affects a lot of people, when we are young it's normal to be rebellious against the establishment and that is what attracts s people to the far left, don't get me wrong that can be a good thing ,if it's channeled constructively it can help to shape society. The trouble is today it's to hysterical and screechy and done with far to much heightened emotion. As we grow up and our values and thinking become more reasoned most of us become more ( small c ) conservative in our thinking, so even if you remain on the left you graduate towards the centre.

    So many people are just so triggered. I love that she has taken a step back and is skeptical of everyone. That makes a well rounded intellectual. It's incredibly brave to be a moderate in this day and age. She has liberals, conservatives, Christians, and Mormons hounding her because she doesn't see their point of views' completely.

    It is not such a mystery why so-called moral movements end up hypocritical and self-righteous. The ideology was corrupt from the start in assuming that certain categories of people, eg. women over men, were morally superior from Day One.

    Respect to Laci Green for finding her way.
    The difference between us and feminists/SJW's is that we forgive and forget.
    Where feminism and SJW's never will.
    Welcome Laci Green I'm both happy for you and sad for you.
    But mostly happy that you're finally free and sad because you had to go through being exposed to feminism before finding your way to the true nature of individuality where you could finally find true trust in people.

    We need objectionalism. That means that we listen and hear contrary views that may differ from ours. We use facts even though many reject what the 'facts' are nowadays. But when we suppress and oppress speech through government legislation we can be sure we are dealing with tyrants. Now which party wants to legislate your speech and behaviors today? It is not the same as back in 1960.
