Fun fact: The sturmtigger does not fire "regular" shells, it fires rockets. It is an overgrown rocket lancher on tracks. Also almost every models recovered after the war is slightly differance from the other, which seems to be a theme in ww2 german armor.
Also wasn't it super impractical, like it was a resource drainer and it was really only good for taking care of bunkers which the Germans rarely encountered?
It’s also a bit of a recyclement project, the rocket it uses is modified from the 15ch shell used by Bismarck class battleship that were both sunk by that point, so the shells just sat there doing nothing. I suspect it’s also a “might as well” project.

"What was that" That was the local dictator showing off his welding skills by attaching metal to anything that could hold it. BTW said marchers had to march two miles with essentially 120 pounds of metal attached to them. Completely non-functional metal. Also using a mining transport as a 40K mega tank by covering it in metal also, and sticking a bunch of lenovo laptops in it as "master supreme force control center". Good times. and yes the AI is cheap as fuck.
The thing with getting codes is that Polish people might be sometimes insufferable to argue with, but they have solidarity. That would mean the mentality of "If I enjoy something and you want to enjoy what I enjoy I will definetely help the way I can so you can do what I do".
Life has taught me that there are two types of Polish people on Earth, and I have had both as family: those who love you to death, and those who would love for you to die.
18:55 I remember years ago when I bought a copy of Medieval 2 Total War form a store and the key was missing and the shop was closed over the weekend. I tried some random numbers and letter for a few hours and at some point it actually worked. This is a core memory and I will cherish it until the day I die.
A big part of the issue on the eastern front with guys not having rifles is the same as today: They have TERRIBLE logistics. A lot of the troops were decently trained, and the soviets had plenty of guns and bullets and vehicles... But like their military didn't value support units or logistics companies very much so resupply was a MESS.
The rifle part was actually false. Even ammo situation was not as terrible as people say. The problem was that training was non-existent, the base material for soldier were dumb peasants, communication sucked because of critical shortage of radios, and there was critical shortage of machine guns. What does not really helped the situation is very bad scouting exarcebated by massive loss of planes in first days of war, forces being spread thin because of how long absolutely undefendable border was. As cherry on top, recent high rank sweep (It was necessary, but timing couldn't be any worse) left general shortage, drastic reduction of quality and fear of making any decisions, especially the tough ones. As a result, breakthroughs happened constantly and supply line cut always followed. It's not that red army had no ammo or weapons, it was them running out without resupply.
Maybe it might’ve been true for the first few days of Stalingrad, but after that it wasn’t all “Enemy at the Gates 24/7” like the game’s campaign tries to portray it as.
For what I heard, this critical situation with weapon happened to militia (home guard) units, which were create from scratch and given weapon from old surplus, like hodgepodge of foreign rifles from the times of Russian civil war or WW1 weaponry. Also there were instances of German breaching the front and capturing said militia units who were traveling to frontline unarmed (they were supposed to get weapons after arrival). Probably this created the stereotype of 1 rifles between 3 men. While the regular army had enough Mosin rifles to arm every soldier.
So, about that Russian controversy... Its less about the gameplay and more about the campaign. It contains some retarded bullshit as soviets burning their own houses with civilians inside and soldiers being punished for saving their commander. There is a good video by BadComedian titled "Why Russians hate Company of Heroes 2" You should watch it if you want to know just why the game created so much controversy in Russian community.
Why would russians be angry? It is about the soviet union, which does not exist anymore. The leadership of the soviet union was fcking dogshit and every russian should be happy that it does not exist anymore. Stalinism was bs and good ol' Joseph was a massive asshole, I would go as far as to say that he was evil. Russians today are not soviets, and every criticism towarsd the soviet union is towarsds the leadership not the average russian people.
Unfortunately a lot of that is true. Peasants in villages or territories captured by the Germans were regarded with suspicion for the simple fact of being alive. Stalin had the military officers that warned him about the incoming German attack court martialed and executed. And commissars did shoot soldiers who did their job, if against orders. It's kinda like how China doesn't like you talking about certain things...or a certain country off their coast.
I am surprised that our friend watched t-34. As a Russian I personally dislike the movie due to it being portrayed like I quote "Historically accurate documentary of man who escaped German camps several times" because while it's good action film... I don't think befriending local SS officer and giving a tank to prisoners isa historically accurate representation. The same can be applied to COH2 but overall it's a good strategy game in my opinion. Love the gameplay, interesting US campaign mechanic. Interesting original campaign if you turn off your volume and skip cut scenes. 7/10 would skip again.
Soviet's Voice lines: "Comrades, we had installed a field hospital, but only for those who's seriously wounded" "Fresh Conscript at our disposal" "Get this peice of shit (T-34) moving" "They are not real soldiers"(Penal Battalion" That sum up everything for Soviet's army
You can wait for a massive discount. Had an anniversary just recently so I bought the whole deal for a massive discount. Totally worth it if you have pals to play with.
I remember one time I played Soviets and we had a resource mod, so the german player kept spamming tanks and I spammed partisan anti tanks and Eventually won due to the fact any tank that drove across the chokepoint was instantly turned to swiss cheese
19:13 If you have a physical copy with key of a game where it should work on steam but doesn't, I highly recommend contacting steam support over it. I had this situation with a game about a decade ago, I don't remember what it was, but they made me send a picture of the box and key from which they then agreed to just add the game to my account :)
Also bear in mind the fact that base game only came with Soviets and Germans made sense because the base game was about the eastern front and the other factions came later, just putting it out there
Actually when u buy it during sales you could get as cheap as 6-8 USD for the master collection, which pretty much i did. I got the base game for free (and some dlc free too) and bought master collection afterwards (doesn't include the contents i already have). Yoink
