Shaka Smart just got outcoached by Izzo today. Tyson Walker was clutch, and Sissoko was a beast around the rim with his offensive rebounding and shot blocking

Marquette had one of the most impressive resumes this season
going into the tournament let alone the 10 straight wins.
It wasn’t an easy win for Sparty, after being up 12 they lost the lead but Marquette just clearly ran out of gas. That outcoached comment is thrown around too much, it’s a team sport.

Mr. March has his team back to Sweet 16 and in Walker's home state of NY. I think we're going to see him carry this team on his back.
Tyson Walker and AJ Hoggard are so good man. They have a lot of potential to shake things up. Also give it up to big men Sissoko and Hauser for dominating the glass, they need to keep getting those 10+ board games

Izzo needs to have this team shooting their 3's immediately off of ball screens. Both USC and Marquette smothered us on the perimeter to where we had no room to get a 3 off when they were 1 on 1 with us in our face. If we can get our 3 point game going again this team is absolutely headed to the final 4.
MSU wins this game by 20 if they shoot threes like normally do. Marquette did do a good job of not leaving shooters to help.
Facts, if they shot even their average from beyond the arc, Marquette would've walked home

I picked Marquette because I thought State would still be reeling from the tragedy, as per that late-game meltdown against Iowa a few weeks back. But I should have remembered no matter what, Izzo is Mr. March no matter the lack of obvious talent he's got on the floor...with him, it's always about suffocating Big 10 defense and rebounds. That's it...that's what wins in March. With this win, look for them to play Tennessee in the Elite 8...and maybe an upset because the Vols like to play State's kind of physical game. Hauser and Sissoko are going to have to play above their heads inside to beat them.
One National Title in 28 years. The most overrated coach of all time next to Jim Boeheim.

Unlucky draw for Marquette....MSU underachieved all year and now are peaking at the right time...More than anything they could not match up with the spartans depth and size in the paint....

MSU fan what a weird game, MSU goes 2-16 from the 3 but still wins by 9 points. MSU is usually the #3-point shooting team in the nation. A win is a win, at least MSU forced turnovers and were shooting above 60% from the two. Go Green.

That win was an classic MSU win - won by rebounding and defense. Teams have bad days, but it takes defense to take a team that averages 80 points a game and hold them to 60
Akins has the potential to be one of the best Spartans to ever do it if he sticks around for a few more years

Izzo out coached his opponent and there league can deal with the physical big east play but Spartans impose there will early in the game and maintain it. for the win.
Only Big Ten team to make the Sweet-16. Yet again, this "rating the Power-Six conferences" turns out to be nonsense in March.
Big Ten matched the number of Ivy League teams to reach this stage. SEC and Big East each managed 3 teams in.
Do I think the Power-Six are better than the mid-majors? Absolutely.
Do I think the Big-12 is the best conference in the universe ever, and the Big Ten is a close 2nd? Nope. Not on the November-December sample size we get every year. Would be better to treat the Power-Six equally.

Every Year the BIG puts 10 teams in the tourney and hardly any team makes it past the first weekend! LOL I like Izzo and MSU but don't think they will make past the 2nd weekend.

Well MSU was like 2 for 15 from 3, and was a lot lower seed - so there’s that ……
We beat a 2 seed by 9… and we were off on shooting. We play like that every game with our normal shooting, we could make a deep run
