I know many ppl have said this, but you really should be acting or writing! The ease with which you improvise with such wit and depth is really amazing - so interesting, convincing, & natural. From the start, you're so captivating that we have to listen to the end. Well done.🌷
When I was a teenager in the 90s, I was obsessed with the 70s. In 2024, someone is still obsessed with the 70s. I think every generation will always have a subset of people who are fascinated by the 60s/70s, even 100 years from now.
@@timelordvictorious Its all of what you like, I personally hated the '80's .. at least the latter half, but it had some great music, but I'm certainly not obsessed with it, & actually the better stuff was the more obscure music that didn't hit the top 10. Call it what you want, I personally liked the Disco era myself.
This made me realize how great the following year, 1979 was for music. Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures The Clash - London Calling Gang of Four - Entertainment! Public Image Limited - Metal Box Pink Floyd - The Wall Michael Jackson - Off The Wall XTC - Drums and Wires The Specials - The Specials Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle AC/DC - Highway to Hell The Cure - Three Imaginary Boys
i debated making the year ‘79 so i could include a few other records, it really was a great year for music! but i decided to stop at ‘78 bc i felt the outfit was more for that period lol
Nailed it. A very period authentic performance. It's like character who stepped out of one of those late 70s youth movies, like 'Foxes' w/ Jodie Foster, et cetera.
The Association are NOT lame, Cherish is one of the best silly 60s pop songs!! also I Threw It All Away is so underrated, my fav Bob song, the Scott Walker version is insanely good too. hate to comment on every record but Ram goes hard, Tapestry is the greatest album of the 1970s, and anachronism aside I too have the first Panic album on vinyl!
literally u get it!! also elvis costello has a great cover of “i threw it all away” too (but i love almost all of his stuff). also OMG i can’t believe u saw that oops 😭 but literally such a good album. like i was listening to it and i forgot how good they were.
The Association and The Lovin' Spoonful were two of the only American bands I feel gave the mid-60s British pop groups a run for their money, albeit less consistently than The Beatles, et al. Never My Love is a beautiful song that seems nearly forgotten.
The UA-cam Algorithm led me here & I liked & subscribed. My two favorite records you showed were The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barret with Golden Hair being my favorite track ( Slowdive do a wonderful cover ) & Elvis Costello with My Aim Is True. Less Than Zero my favorite track & the song he famously stopped playing on Saturday Night Live & switched to Radio Radio. I used to live in Traverse City .. Beautiful falls & Spring but winter is too cold ! Thanks.
that snl performance is legendary !! and then got him banned lmao 😭 i moved from michigan, it’s objectively one of the most beautiful states but i agree i can’t do those winters !! glad you enjoyed :))
Wow this is such a cool video !. First time seeing yr channel and i've subscribed. As a record collector this is so awesome. I'd recommend some Big Star for the collection if you don't have any already. Their music is peerless in my opinion.
also, where ya funk at mama? i don't c no parliament, no Funkadelic, no chaka khan, no prince. i mean, what's goin on? 😂 but ur just about the coolest asmrist 4 this 70s stuff
you’re very right 😭 i stopped collecting records a few years ago bc i can’t fit them in my apartment (this is my parents house lol) but when i get my own place funkadelic and prince are must haves 🙏🙏
I was in middle school 1972-1976, and Chaka was my first soul sister crush! The funk and RnB back then was GOAT, -can’t forget Sly and the Family Stone, Mandrill, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
@yonitznkc the truth!! my introduction to funk & soul was actually midnight star. bumpin the tapes real heavy back in high-school. thanks for sharin ur story man.

Well said… I agree.
I think Lizzy might fare well auditioning for @SNL. 👍🏻
I have been binging your content and it’s all SO good !! So relaxing and your investment in the details of the eras is awesome

my mom said the same thing, in the 80s they were all told the 60s was better. there does seem to be something magical abt the era
I had the 50's shoved down our throats when I was a teen, now I am interested in many of the B films of that era.
Yea I can’t wait till we stop this obsession with the 80s.the 70 and 60’s was a better decade for music

i’m so glad !! the 70s girls stay together ✌️✌️
The first album I bought in a Record shop was Jail break - Thin Lizzy, 1976. Nothing beats vinyl. Cheers!
i’m glad vinyl is still alive!!
Jailbreak is such a great album, the guitar work is phenomenal.

Starting your record collection "from scratch". And you didn't say no pun intended so that pun better have been intended.

Of course, if it were really 1978 your "Some Girls" would have had all the faces on the cover.
the original cover with all the faces was quickly discontinued and there are copies of the censored version from as early as 1978 ;)

I liked this video but maybe try to talk and whisper more quietly in the future, I still thought your voice was kinda loud for an asmr video
Maybe try something logical and intelligent like turning the volume down!!!
Some people really like asmr like this more- personally I like a more realistic or soft spoken asmr over a whisper asmr
