Hi Ricky, thanks for the informative video and music. I too had a problem installing an emulator on the Casio CTK 811 whereby it did not recognise it. I assumed it was an incompatible floppy emulator. Which type did you use? Source? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there and thanks for your comment! I used a plain floppy emulator off of ebay I believe it is called. I found a link to a generic one that I got: www.ebay.com/itm/3-5-1000-Floppy-Disk-Drive-to-USB-Emulator-Simulation-For-Musical-Keyboad/362945878378?hash=item548142996a:g:7QcAAOSw13hebxdk Hope this helps you out, let me know how it turns out in the end!
@@rstorebo Thanks Ricky, I did find the and install the correct emulator and set the jumpers correctly for a successful installation. The emulator number is SFR1M44-U100K and the jumpers need to be set for S1 and J5. J5 is the tricky one because it is not mentioned in the user manual but apparently selects for 1.44MB capacity disk. Cheers, Greg
@@dorioedsonpandolfi9060 All you can do is check that you have the SFR1M44-U100K ribbon cable, power connector and jumpers installed correctly and that you have the ribbon cable in the correct orientation. The RED stripe should be at PIN 1 of the USB emulator. If all that is correct and you have a USB stick plugged into it, the emulator may be faulty. Plug your original floppy drive back in to make sure all is good with the CASIO as a last check before returning the emulator.
You know to be honest I can't tell you for sure if it is. These midi files are from an old collection and I no longer have the list of info for each song sadly.
Olá ,sou do Brasil ! Amigo você poderia me informar para que serve o disquete normal que vem no teclado?! Pois o meu é igual o ctk 811ex mas não tem o disquete
That is a very good question indeed. I did a search on ebay for it but could not find the keyboard itself just dust covers and power supply replacements, your best bet if you are interested in buying one would probably be to check local second hand shops or possibly local used markets in your community, such as Facebook marketplace or the equivalent in your area. I remember buying mine for about 650 dollars but that is many years ago, probably around 15 years. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but good luck! :) Have a great day and thanks for your comment!
Yeah the USB stick has to be partitioned with a special program in order for it to work properly with the floppy emulator and keyboard. Did the floppy emulator come with some kind of software to partition the USB stick?
Merhaba. Bende gotek floppy var. Ancak error uyarısı yapıyor. Kırmızı lamba yanıyor. İpcas ile disk oluşturuyorum. Ancak err hatası alıyorum. Jumper nasıl yapılacak daha açıklayıcı bilgi alabilir miyim? Teşekkürler..

hello good afternoon, sorry that it bothers you, but I'm looking for it, buy a usb emulator for my casio ctk-811ex piano, with its configuration cd, but it does not have the instructions to configure it in casio, only in yamaha, and look at your tutorial where you show that if it works in a casio, could you enlighten me how to configure it in a casio ctk-811ex, and finally there is some rhythm commander for the casio format (smf) I thank you for your attention and thank you.

Here is the emulator I used: www.ebay.com/itm/3-5-Black-Floppy-Disk-Drive-MFM-To-USB-Emulator-Simulation-For-Musical-Keyboad/392325065813?epid=3003437161&hash=item5b58656c55:g:TNoAAOSwEf5b3XRu
It requires you taking the keyboard apart, be very careful since a lot of cables are soldered without any sockets. Good luck and thanks for watching my video! :)
nice video :D glad to see you getting into youtube :D
