Great advice but a few things to add: The faction crypt for your chosen starter champion will stay open every day for the first week, make use of this time as after the first week is over they go into a normal rotation. There is an advanced daily quest for "clear 2 stages of cursed city" nothing in the game tells you this but you can just clear already cleared stages to complete this so if you're stuck progressing cursed city you can still finish your dailies by just going back to an already cleared stage.
Been playing for a year. Used to skip this clear 2 stages of cursed city mission all the time back then. Great tips man ! Somehow still helping someone who played quite some time like me
holy hell I had NO idea that you could just replay already cleared stages for Cursed City, I've been missing out on the advanced quest completion for the last 3 weeks because of this
I couldn't believe anyone didn't immediately know cleared stages of Cursed City could be replayed for the daily advanced quest! Something new players overlook are weekly clan quests. Also, arena battles don't have to be won to complete the daily quests. The daily quests that require fighting in 5 arena battles may as well say, "Win or lose in 5 arena battles."
Just came back to raid a few days ago, dropped some money and picked up a few legendaries and got instantly hooked again. I was in a good place a few years ago in raid but now with all the new stuff like chimera and cursed city I'm feeling woefully weak and like my account is hot garbage. But I'm remembering just how much I love this game, Relearning the game has been fun and actually struggling through content is a breath of fresh air. Im currently working getting some teams set up like UN clan boss and doom tower solos so i can reap the monthly rewards. anyway I'm back to raid.
If you were in a good place with it a few years ago you shouldn't feel weak on Chimera, because it's highly accessible - I started in 2022 but my account is just past 7 months, and I'm doing way better on Chimera than I am on Hydra; over 20m on Normal Chimera, consistently, whereas my best on Normal Hydra is 13m and isn't consistent. Cursed City however is another thing entirely, so many bosses I can get past normally but the champs I used for them are locked out in Cursed City, such as Burangiri soloing Bommal or Drexthar and Geomancer for the Frost Spider - in order to get past a Frost Spider on Normal CC I had to use Goulish Ranger to get a Burn on it, lol
Thank you so much for this video - and your others as well. I am only 3 months in and still learning so this beginner level video helped me answer questions and validate + reevaluate some (spend or not spend) game questions.
Rector drath is one of the best starters, from the creator codes availible. I'm mid game and getting lots of legendaries and she is still heavily used.
Ash, a lot of good info in here, but you should really bring on a newer CC or a F2P CC or at least someone who runs new alts once and a while to collaborate on vids like this. You can tell it's been a long while since you had the beginner experience, and it shows. Unrelated but you made a video yesterday complaining about silver, then in this video you can see you are maxed out on forging materials, sitting on 100's of Mil of silver while wasting any additonal materials you are getting.... Anyways dude, keep on doing what your doing, appreciate you helping the new players and keeping the community vibrant. Merry christmas to you and the little guy!
Great content! All games need these kinds of videos from time to time to encourage and help new players out. They´re essential for the longevity of the game.
Raid is the best in everything. Whether its graphics, gameplay, community or its gambling, bait, scam. You will literally get the best of both worlds here.
I started Raid when Wukong was 7 day login in late 2023. Wow already over 1yrs passed. I have about 5 accts now and will not extend anymore acct even with a whole bunch of good stuff to get start. Anyone never play before it will be fun to start in 2025🤟
Minor option, chicken monkey king to 50, keep kael at 40 and then throw your feast at him. Only viable if there is a feast to be had obviously, currently a thing off the he-man pass but that is fleeting.
The memes and mockery towards Raid are certainly justified, but underneath the predatory nature of it is in my opinion a genuinely good turn based RPG - it takes soooooo fucking long though, like just getting dailes done can take a fair few hours, and there's often Forge on top of that even if playing entirely free, constant tourneys or events to dabble in. I know many say speed is king but I'd like to highlight how important it is - it's not just about going first, which is of course important but if you have enough speed, (double or enough turn meter fill, ideally both), you can consistently lap a boss and get 2 or more turns for each of theirs; this is most impactful on Chimera where the boss is limited in turns, and assuming I've done my maths correctly strong Decreased Speed brings Easy down to 101.5 from 145, my Elva is at 231 speed, she's lead so 19% speed aura plus her speed buff brings her up to 357ish, and she's in Relentless so while she's not there to do damage she's getting A LOT of hits in so many Warmaster procs, many CH's applied, AND getting back to her A2 a lot and her revive if needed; from Chimera's perspective it's not a 3 turn cooldown, it's more like 1. I've bought masteries on a few champs, Elva is one of them because I just wanted her maxed out as soon as I got her from the Revival Path - she has since more than paid off the cost of that from how much she's carried me through, and I think that's a good way of thinking about it; how much value is there in this specific champ, and how impactful are the masteries to it? I've farmed masteries on most I use regularly, also leveling most of them in the process to maximise the efficiency of that energy use, but as much as I use Fayne and Jareg for example, who are in my main Demon Lord team, neither are carrying me through anything to the extent Elva is so aren't going to pay for themselves as quickly. You can get masteries on one champ in less gems than the 800 it costs to directly buy them, and that energy could of course also go to leveling food so echoing something MTG said in a recent colab you done about the sparring pit, you need to weight up how much other stuff you could get done with those gems and is it worthwhile. This is not a noob trap as such, but is certainly a mistake I made - poisons are very strongly advised for Demon Lord, but don't level too many of them; I did, ended up with Kael, Urogrim, Orn and Brawler on the same team so Tayrel's debuffs weren't applying. I have since rectified this error where Fayne in now my only poisoner for Demon Lord occasionally replaced by Kael if I have a daily to use a rare, and I have a low priority intent to get Frozen Banshee leveled to replace Kael for this, because she doesn't apply any weak poisons and can boost turn meter. I can't remember which difficulties these best apply to but Weaken becomes better than poisons and sensitivity debuff, and Decreased Defence becomes better than Weaken, but Weaken retains value as the only way of increasing the damage of Warmaster/Giant Slayer procs
I Like raid ,never spend $, do not know how FTP players get gear and progress in the Great Hall or finish faction wars, Im 5 yrs in , CAN NOT GET GEAR, HAVE NOT FINISHED FACTION WARS or GREAT HALL,,,,I STILL FEEL LIKE A BGNR SO WLL WATCH THIS VID CAUSE MY ACCOUNT STILL SUCKS AFTER 5 YEARS !!!
Raid can be harsh to some f2p acct that no spender. For example I farm most dungeons at lev20 but the drop rate for 6 * lego gear were no where to be found, all i got was bunch of 5* rare most and my energy deplete faster. Raid want me to spend, not going to happen. My point is as long you not spend the progression could never reach higher in game. Raid admin will control your gameplay😁
I understand from your whale point of view spending your gems on masteries. For the vast majority of the player base, you should have recommended they only use gems for energy once past the pit and mine.
From an efficiency point of view Ash is correct, even F2P players should be spending their first 800 gems on masteries for their starter champion. The mine would be the second priority as it takes 100 days for it to break even, delaying this by a day or two to get masteries for Kael is absolutely worth it and will give you the best progression for your account. You could even make an argument for getting the first TWO champions masteries with gems before the gem mine investment. The sparring pit is more debatable, some people swear by it, some people never use it.
There's thousands of people who have never spent a single penny in this game still playing after 5 years, there's some "traps" amongst the free champions but also a lot of great ones. Within a year from starting today you can easily get Arbiter within 6 months and Mithrala and the new mythical from Chimera in well under a year.

Not new but VERY MUCH NEEDED
Merry Christmas Ash!!
Thank you so much for this video - and your others as well. I am only 3 months in and still learning so this beginner level video helped me answer questions and validate + reevaluate some (spend or not spend) game questions.
Merry Christmas to you, Ash, my best to you and the kiddo.

“There’s no seven star thank god”
Plarium: 🤑
Very helpful. Watched a lot of your vids the last 2 months

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for you Ash and your family.
Merry Christmas Ash, thanks for giving me a video to link to anyone who's thinking about trying Raid
How are poisoners hard to find early game with two uncommon poisoners?

These are always great... How I originally found Ash.
Raid is the best in everything. Whether its graphics, gameplay, community or its gambling, bait, scam. You will literally get the best of both worlds here.
been playing 2 years and still haven' gotten arbiter. took me forever to get through the arena missions and now hit a wall vs clan boss

Ash please extend my gratitude to the plarium. bc I got Sun Wukong from the shard they gave us😄
Currently working on my referral accts and you reminded me of the monkeyking code. Thanks Ash!
I’m two months in and this video had me thinking to make a new account for the fun of it
Great video as always, Thank you! Ash

Planning to start this game. Is this game friendly for FREE TO PLAY players?
I have played the worst way possible probably It took me forever to learn how to play
As with others, not new but good content as always for everyone.

136% crit rate?! Come on man! 🙂 Merry Christmas - 3 years playing and still watching your beginners guide 😀
Only started playing for He-Man and Skeletor, 80’s baby myself lol. Hoping they add a couple of the Thundercats to the skinwalkers😂👀.
was waiting for new 2025 guide and kael build, cuz I knew u would do it😅😂
It's best not to start playing raid at all in 2025😂
code not working for me
The developer is not great at taking feedback at time I've never seen when they have
Ultimate Beginner's Guide | RAID Shadow Legends
Step 1 uninstall RSL
Step 2 install King Aurthur
Masteries are a constant grind. Feels like a waste of time.

ITS DEFO NOT the best BUT IT IS A good game for sure
what is the best?
Any game that you can actually beat that has no micro transactions.
Please don't lie to the new players, pvp is suckk. Arena is never fun 😂😂😂
I’m ready to prey on watchers with my referral link
WTF, free legendary first thing. I never had that. I want to Peter Dinklage that shit and make all other dwarves disappear
This wasn’t good strats this was giving noobs legendaries from nowhere?
Why are there any traps!

@@Lones555 If you are long term F2P and don't max the pit, SMH!
lol old you look young to me
I’m sorry but raid is nothing close to free to play….it would take probably a year to get 100 rare monsters which probably suck
There's thousands of people who have never spent a single penny in this game still playing after 5 years, there's some "traps" amongst the free champions but also a lot of great ones. Within a year from starting today you can easily get Arbiter within 6 months and Mithrala and the new mythical from Chimera in well under a year.
No
i should check you guys before i get into this game, i don't even know there are promote codes after i hits lev 50, since than i lose my change to get all those free logo and epic. THIS NO DAMN FAIR
