It makes me so sad that we are losing so many educators to MLMs. We need teachers, not MLMs.
Sadly, the average teacher isnt paid a living wage and their supplies dont cover their needs.

@@moustik31 they are paid MUCH more than an MLM along with health insurance, PTO, and vested retirement (I’m a teacher and my insurance policy alone would be something like $2500/month if I had to pay out of pocket)
Yes, they are paid much more than an MLM. But they are still paid low enough to make them vulnerable to an MLM pitch promising to take off the financial pressure.

To be fair if they are dumb enough to fall for it then i dont want them teaching my kid 100%

To loose 30% of your down line in a short amount of time is big.The one Hun who misses the old days is probably because of the growing Anti-MLM movement that is shedding light on their fraudulent ways, which, just a few years ago wasn't a thing. You and other content creators are definitely having an impact. Also, I think it's funny that they have a product line called THIEVES- so appropriate. Keep the videos coming.
I got the impression this whole meeting that they were just trying to convince themselves that everything was okay and knew deep down that they were in the wrong.

A girl I went to high school with is “thriving” in Arbonne (and recruited here mom who she’s doing business with..) recently went on a trip to bring a bunch of people the HQ for a retreat. Trying to reenergize the MLM girlies is in full swing across the industry.

adding onto all the disturbing cult behaviour... lady was talking about how isolating it was to not know anyone near her who did young living. like girl, it's your job, not your identity... that's like saying it's isolating to not know any other verizon customer service phone people lmfao. actually this entire thing is bizarre. they are like personally traumatised that their workplace has bad intentions. i'd just go find another job.
But how can they be their own GiRL BoSs if they get a "regular job" like the rest of us in the unwashed, un-oiled masses? (Sarcasm, of course)

I’m only up to the 12min mark…but make a valid point about the conventions. No way would a normal workplace make their employees pay money to go and do a course that upskills them to ultimately benefit the company.
Omg, I was in this mlm for like 4 yrs and I got into so much debt. I was in their downline and they are so disgusting. So much damage control so much shaming so much bullshit. It was horrible.

I was in Scentsy for over a year. I only joined to be able to get a discount on their waxes and warmers, which I do genuinely enjoy. When my upline started pressuring me to build the downline, I was like "Yeah take my name off the list, I have no interest" - I can't stand this crap. It was full of lies and propaganda. I'm so glad I'm out now. I was able to meet my "sales" goal every month due to buying my own product, but again, that was always my intention, and this was merely an underhanded way for me to get a discount on a product I would have bought anyway. I would NEVER recommend joining an MLM as a genuine means of income, helllllll no.

@@laurennoel5176f I'm not mistaken, the BEST way would to be to add 1 "boosts" through mobile apps that will give you cash back on your purchases (even though your bank might not have cash back. Mine doesn't. I have to use apps that connects to my card. And 2. websites alwaysssss have discount codes for scentsy, and THEN 3. even though it's an email receipt , there's apps that will provide cashback on email receipts. You just connect the email address you use. So all three of those you come out way cheaper than being signed up on their program
I think the "budget for it now" is their way of saying that "I can't afford it" won't be accepted as a reason not to go.
Why did the other teachers not want to hang out with her after she left teaching? Probably because Young Living was all she talked about. It’s hard to hang out with someone with a one track mind.
And who wants to hang out with someone they no longer work with anyway 😂

Besides the economic recession and these MLMs becoming less popular/slowing down/plateauing, I worry about how a lot of women in failed MLMs are ripe recruits for extreme political movements like fascist ideologies, needing someone to blame for the economic precarity and business failings.
Did I start watching this while taking a nice relaxing bath… self care and anti MLM go hand in hand for me

I wish something that was talked about more is how mind boggingly unsafe it is to EAT essential oils.
I have a theory that they were paid to stay. So they went to a retreat paid by young living, were offered a contract to stay for a year and paid cash. If companies are cross recruiting why not pay the top so they don't hop with 5k of downliners.
Just a theory and all in my opinion.
Around 13:58 Danielle speaks of wanting to open her doors again and get back into doing community events. I don’t believe that for one second. These women were making money hand over fist by the work their down lines were doing. No one and I mean no one wants to set up shop at a community event on a Saturday afternoon and sell oils. No one wants to host classes in their homes, clean, set everything up, push oils, and hope that one person signs up to purchase. I just don’t believe that she truly wants to do that type of work again. Not after moving away from that type of activity and making more money when focusing on other areas of their “business.”

A company wanting to do something is not the same as them actually doing anything. Why not share to the downline what was actually said to give her the confidence in the company? Imagine if you broke your arm and the doctor walk in an said "I see that your arm is broke" and then left. No cast, no medicine just acknowledgement. That is exactly what Young Living is doing to these reps.

It's sad. But essential oils can be found online for way more affordable prices without all the MLM craziness.
Isabella, I really love how you read between the lines with how the one talked about the corporate visit. Great perspective that I’m sure went over most-if not all-of her downline.
I love the enneagram and it irritates me to see MLMs use it and push it so hard. They make it seem icky and it’s really not
They actually did virtual conventions and the price at least in 2020 was $70 if I'm remembering correctly. The budgeting back then at least was for the new products released at convention which can cost in the thousands if you buy all of it. Which is of course highly encouraged

The longer I watch this I keep commenting because it's making me so mad. I dealt with this bs for so long. These people are not making any money anymore so now they actually have to do the work to get people. They got big because of all of us doing the hard work but we all left so now they have to actually work. Ughhh

My fiancé has fibromyalgia and he’s been trying different things to try and relieve his symptoms, my ex friend legit found a group of people swearing by Ningxia products helping cure their fibro…they were just so desperate to sell their products that they were saying it cured diseases and ailments. Not only does Ningxia taste like crap, it doesn’t do anything so I’m thankful my fiancé decided not to spend his money on it. They’ve had to walk back on so many statements claiming that their products cure things when they don’t. It’s disgusting
These commercial cult leaders will promise the world to potential recruits: they’ll link arms together, pour into them, be their family, be there 110% of the way for them. But when the recruit can’t get/keep their business growing, the same commercial cult leader is all, well, you didn’t want it enough to show up for your business consistently.

i didn’t know Young Living was a MLM. grew up using them and we don’t have pyramid schemes in Young Living Singapore or maybe i think so as my mom just purchased them individually from the headquarters whenever we run out 😅
don’t get me wrong though. i love their products. and i’m anti-MLM too. wonder if there’s anyway to buy their products without supporting an MLM…
