You're amazed? Really? The 70s R&B and Soul music featured some of the best musicians and creators! Music and art should have never been removed from school curriculums and offerings. Outstanding arrangement!
The Horn Arrangement is so wonderful. It's almost beyond comprehension. It's certainly a dream come true if you're in the horn section to get some shine at a concert.
Kool and The Gang are Funk/Rnb/Disco legends . I grew up listening to these cat's and Earth Wind and Fire , Shalamar , Rick James , Ray Parker Jnr with Raydio , Gap Band , Sister Sledge , Geraldine Hunt etc
Yeh I was born in '73 but grew up listening to all those bands and being amazed how funky the brass was. I still love all the old tunes like this. Compared to now these are solid gold
Just watched SNF on chnl 5. Still as good as the first time I watched it all those years ago. I'm 48 on aug 12th and 1977 only seems like 5 years ago to me🥲🕺
They were dressed so cool. That was definitely the style back then. I'm 59 and I remember this well. The song is tight. It's really the fire. Love you Kool and the Gang. God bless you always.
Robert Kool &his Gang takes us all on that magic carpet ride, feeling the spirit of the boogie, with this brassy led funky haven of a track, released at the time Kool was cool, constantly throwin down some phat phat beefy joints on a regular basis before commercialism took over
I will never forgive Will Smith for not sampling this and making a song for the end credits of the "Aladdin" remake. He would have made an awesome song with this.
got hooked with this song back in 1977, when I got in 1st grade and did not know a word in english but could not forget the name of the band like many others. In time I learned english thanks to the name of the bands I memorized. Thxs Kool &,The Gang.
SouffBeac There is an old saying. "what goes around comes around" Check on UA-cam for Ronald Bell's Kool Baby Brotha Band and check out "My Soul in the Breeze" , Poinciana. Or even check out Kool & the gang's newest single (May 8th 2017) "So High"
nathan900130 Listen to the song "Wild and Peaceful " from the group's 1973 album titled "Wild and Peaceful or the 1974 studio version of "Summer Madness " on the "Light of Worlds" album. Or the 1977 live version of "Summer Madness" from the " Love and Understanding " album.
More like (Funk that Disco enjoyed!). Kool & The Gang were primarily a "Funk" band who did danceable music because they like othe Funk bands had a lot of infectious "rhythm", therefore, the Disco lovers enjoyed borrowing some of the more (upbeat, danceable "Funk"). Then many years later, some of the younger generation starts erroneously calling (upbeat/danceable Funk, "Disco". HOWEVER, it "is" true that when Disco became super popular, many Funk groups certainly tried to "cash in" by attempting to make records that would do TWO things: (1. cross-over to capture Disco fans.........2. while maintaining enough R&B/Funk to KEEP their Funk fans). The one that probably had the most success doing that was probably (Earth Wind & Fire with "Boogie Wonderland"). Kool & The Gang changed from Funk to cross-over (R&B/POP) and made a ton of money with songs like "Celebration" - good for their bank accounts, but I enjoy their earlier R&B/Funk such as: (Open Sesame...Jungle Boogie....Hollywood Swinging....and certainly last but not least, "Funky Stuff").🤘
This track is so clever by kool and his gang i would have loved to see and hear them live never had that funky pleasure i ive missed out.luv their groove.
After catching an interview on SiriusXM Real Jazz with Mr Bell, I was reminded of how much I needed This Wonderful Band in”The Soundtrack of my Life”!Thank you!!!!!❤️🎶💯
that Genie was one cool dude! One of the defiining groups of the 70's and involved in the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever and were re-invented and still big in the 80's. Very under-rated imo.
Kevin Bell (Amir Bayyaan) out front on keys and Kevin Lassister in the rear on keys. Both former members of the KayGees---Kool And The Gang protégés. Kevin is Kool's and Ronald's younger brother and was the KayGees' guitarist
That was so cool the way they were dressed. They definitely kept up with the style back then. They still look good now. Love them. God bless you always.
Increíble, es una de las canciones que más me gustan, escucha los instrumentos de viento, las percusiones, el bajo, los coros, simplemente SENSACIONAL. Mágico 👍♥️🎼🎵
Such a complex and layered song. I’m amazed by how masterful musicians were back then. I love Kool & The Gang so much! Brilliant craftsmanship.

You're amazed? Really? The 70s R&B and Soul music featured some of the best musicians and creators! Music and art should have never been removed from school curriculums and offerings. Outstanding arrangement!
Not one band today can even come close to the top notch musicianship of Kool And The Gang.....

The horn section is amazing ! This song was also featured in the movie "Saturday Night Fever" during the dance contest.
This is how the good groove should be played ... Timeless quality

I choreographed to this in the mid to late 80's. An absolute blast. We captivated audiences and had standing ovations. So much fun! Kool and the gang!
This band is so overlooked in what they contributed to the music of my generation! I totally forgot about this one of theirs!
They were dressed so cool. That was definitely the style back then. I'm 59 and I remember this well. The song is tight. It's really the fire. Love you Kool and the Gang. God bless you always.
Might I add the women of the 70s !;; ❤️ 🔥 💯!!!!

This song will always remind me of the black couple in the dance contest on Saturday night Fever that lost to Tony & Stephanie. 🎉💃🌐🕺🎵🎶🎵🎶😅
This track is a masterpiece all around. The composition, arangement, production and performance. Amazing!
Pure complexity and richness. I love the brass section. Amazing song and band.

It was quality, talent, masterpiece.
Saw them yesterday and was like "whatever." Then they broke this shit out. MIND BLOWN
let us not forget the jazz of kool and the gang.
this song is more funk than jazz.
nathan900130 Listen to the song "Wild and Peaceful " from the group's 1973 album titled "Wild and Peaceful or the 1974 studio version of "Summer Madness " on the "Light of Worlds" album. Or the 1977 live version of "Summer Madness" from the " Love and Understanding " album.
I don't have time to check those yet since i'm working on my school project, but are those you mentioned their jazz hits?

One of the best parts of the song.
Yes, " Kool and The Gang " even FUNKED up Disco
More like (Funk that Disco enjoyed!). You can have the Bee Gees. As far as I'm concerned, this masterpiece is the REAL star of the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack! 🕺⭐🔥
I think I'm gonna overdose on funkiness
The correct word was coke :)
It's not a bad thing. All these decades later I'm still loving this song. Carry on and let the partaaaay continue!!!
Serious nostalgia. I still remember when this song came on during pool scene in the movie Shazam. Hands down Sinbad's best movie from the 90's.
