@@kilobak2297 What I meant to say ahah was that you're right about the first part. She is indeed playing an already arranged song, but she isn't cooperating with anyone or anything, she utilizes a virtual MIDI driver (in her case IAC driver) and has that mapped to various commands in Ableton. That's how she's doing this. She mentioned this in an interview (I can't remember which one exactly).

Absolutely love the composition of your live loop videos. I've seen all your official videos which are perhaps more artistic or I don't know, more mainstream, but damn, these loop vids are by far the best in my opinion and it's only that. I wish it comes across as positive feedback and nothing else. So many times I see artists go mainstream with production and videos, and they lose that magic from their simpler days. You don't need anything but a camera pointed at you and your wide array of talents to shine brighter than a flash. Thank you for your beautiful performance Elise ❤️🙏❤️

Okay, how are you doing this? I've been using Ableton for years and I've never been able to get the live looper to be this smooth. It's like the arrangement is already there? How are you doing this, I'd LOVE to know! Great music btw, your mashups are sick!
I'm having a hard time buying that it's live. The distance her voice sounds from the mic doesn't match how far she really is from the mic in the video. That isn't to say she isn't a great singer/songwriter/cover artist. I come back to these videos because they are heavenly. I just wish she didn't claim it was live. Her Jimmy Kimmel video shows how she sounds live. Still fantastic and better than most artists on the radio today but not as smooth as these recordings.

Okay David, so myself and my music student figured out what's going on with the music. I can't comment on the vocal, but here's what's going on with the music. So she's using the IAC Midi driver which can send midi signals out of Live and back in. So you can turn on and off the looper, and if you create a skeleton of a song with these on and off signals, and practice, practice, practice. You can do this. She's wearing headphones, and I'm sure there's a click there. In the Jimmy Kimmel one, you see her hit a button on Push and I counted 4 beats before she started. I tested this out with my music student and it's an ingenious way to do a live looping performance as multiple layers can be going in and out when you want them. The only thing is, you have to know when everything is happening, and thus, you practice. In the Kimmel videos, she's off a little bit here and there and that can totally be nerves. I'm building a live electronic set with this IAC Midi Driver trick. I can't wait to get it all dialed in and make probably like 6 or 8 skeleton tracks.

Elise is really incredible... i mean it's literally hard to believe that she can move so smoothly from instrument to instrument in such a relaxed way and lay down super cool 1-2 measure drum groves right in time ... so much cooler than pre programmed drums especially if it's canned beats. I agree that the vibe is super cool and would add that the tasty little bass solo near the end was a great touch! Elsie is a great performer and has her own unique look and vibe in her videos. I'm inspired!

First impressions: It looks like you’re an Elise Trouw marionette puppet with all those strings. I did like the old live version from Moroccan Lounge with the “phaser” sound effect. This and Kimmel version seem to be more mellow jazzy version, still great, just different like studio vs piano versions of Awake. Love watching you create the sound layer by layer as you are a musical architect.
