My favorite round of disc golf to date. (Yes, topping the round with the greatest throw in ever). Not just the McBattle had me engaged, I really enjoyed watching Kramer through all forehands and compete with the greatest ever to play. As a forehand only player this gives me hope and gets me excited to go out and play as soon as possible. Great tournament Kramer! You got a new fan
Eagle also played backhand only. It really just goes to show that you don't HAVE to be amazing at both. Yes, certain shot shapes are easier, and it is only an advantage to have both skills, but you can compete at an insane level playing only BH or only FH.
Thanks for bringing awareness to how hard and unsustainable it is to be a disc golf player. The lack of sponsors is really disappointing and I appreciate you telling it how it is
Seriously! 1st comment?! On one of the most iconic disc golf tournament finishes ever! Only wish I could've seen it a month ago, but I guess that's how it goes this time.
Not to get into a pissing match but the course coming up for worlds might take the cake. At least how it was played earlier this year with all the wind and being a fresh new top level course OB everywhere, tight, long, and windy (insert yo mom joke.) This Nokia Course seems like the better course though, more picturesque and interesting terrain, but this is all my opinion through the lens of UA-cam.
Having just completed watch one of the best tournaments I have ever seen. I learned two things; Paul is a critical component to an amazing round, the coverage and production quality displayed by the DGPT over the last 6 hours has convinced me to NEVER pay for any product they produce. Abysmal lack of quality control for a paid product. Amateur hour would be an insult to amateurs. Stop being greedy pricks and DO BETTER!
On this hole in particular if you don’t make the island you get no distance gained and just have to rethrow, and no drop zone. There’s no additional hazard penalty stroke like a typical OB throw.
Everyone always talk about the "Paul and Ricky" battles... THIS BATTLE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN! Simply because these 2 were in the lead the entire event! They were back and forth by 1 or 2 shots the entire event! They threw the exact same lines 90% of the time and they both threw a HISTORICAL 4 ROUND TOURNAMENT beating 3rd place by 16 STROKES!!! The entire field would have needed 2 more rounds while Paul and eagle sat by for them to get even close to -40!!! Like eagle said, they both won because they both played perfect all weekend. But Paul definitely lost this one by himself. He eagle did not miss but 1 time while Paul missed a few. So Paul definitely still played better because had he not missed the 2 putts and the 2 drives on the back 9, he would have been sitting at -45... a historical finish for Paul, but he could have easily taken the win with 2 clean drives and putts
Paul didn't play better though. There were plenty of holes in the 4 rounds where Eagle could have had cleaner drives too. Drives me crazy when people talk like "oh he lost it on the back 9, round 4". Literally every single one of the 216 strokes Paul had were identical in value from Hole 1 day 1 to hole 18 day 4.
Why did Eagle not take a bogey on 16? I did not watch the first rounds so i don't know if hole 16 has special rules that just werent explained this time. But his first shot lands in bounds. Second shot tilt misses the island. third shot hits the island, fourth shot is the putt. Did he not get a penalty for missing the island? Does this hole have a special rule where you just try again without penalty from the same lie til you hit it? Someone please help :D
Ah... I came to ask the same. OB on 2, and then two more shots, makes 5 on most holes. I never saw a hole where OB had no penalty, even when it does play hazzard.
The quality of this coverage (even though this round was better than previous ones) is a good reminder for me to never ever buy a DGN subscription. CCDG is usually phenomenal so I'm not sure what happened to the mixing and editing of this, but somewhere along the line something definitely went wrong. Ultimately it all falls back on Jussi Meresmaa and Spin18 who decided that one of the biggest events in the sport - and certainly the biggest one in Europe - should be kept behind a paywall. Grow the -sport- wallet.
It's a re throw from previous position with no penalty stroke. Most often you gain progress to the point you went OB and take the extra stroke, but some island holes (that aren't par 3 and use a drop zone) use this re throw with no penalty stroke option.
Its a weird hole, theres a couple like it that ive seen, but if you dont make to the indicated zone you dont actually take a stroke penalty but you have to shoot from the same lie until you get there, thats also why kevin took a bogey and not a double bogey
Hole 16 has special rules. There are no penalties for OB other than not the gaining distance. This rule is for every shot on that hole. Even if your tee shot lands OB, you need to re-tee, but you don't get 1 stroke penalty.
Great commentary but terrible footage overall. Missed shots throughout the four days and I was so queasy from the frame adjustments that I had to skip a lot of coverage just to make it through. So disappointing - I feel like I just stepped off a choppy boat ride...where's my Dramamine? Please do better!
I know, right? This dedicated team of people who work so hard, get paid virtually nothing, traveled half way around the world just to produce and deliver this amazing coverage to us, on a timely basis, absolutely FREE, .....gee, they really need to step it up.
Dude, man up lol. This is coverage we get to watch when no one else was there to film. Like seriously just man up and watch it. Complaining about this making you need to vomit because it’s not good enough for you is such a soft boy thing to do lol. F off kid
Yeah let’s disregard all standards of quality in an endless quest to not offend anyone. Standards make things better in a competitive environment, excuses only serve those who cannot compete.
Anyone else having weird frame rate issues? Lots of stuttering throughout. Very poor upload of one of the most important tournaments of our sport. Unacceptable.
Pretty laggy frame rates, artifacts... locked behind pay wall until now. The end was already spoiled... come on DGPT, you can do better for the community.
I appreciate the coverage, but the judder/stutter is terrible. Not sure what happened, but i had to take breaks from watching because it was messin with me.
Great tournament, terrible coverage. DGPT should feel ashamed for paywalling this event and charging 20 euros / dollars (For the first 30 days after the event..) to watch this sort of garbage-production.
He used to thrive on pressure but as the fields get more competitive it seems to get to him but honestl id be perfectly fine placing how he has this year. overall hes still done amazing and is in 2nd place for points which takes alot now days. Hell simon who has 3 wins is placed 12th.
Did your dad teach you how to accept the trophy at an international major? Can you link the video of you accepting your trophy so the rest of us can see how it’s done?
Incredible round between Eagle and Paul. The only negative was the commentators' treatment of Kevin; when they weren't ignoring him (much of the round), they were dissing him. Unprofessional.
The OB rule in disc golf are trash. Paul goes OB on 15 and 17 and is assessed a penalty stroke, Eagle goes OB on 16 with no penalty stroke. What a joke
The McBattle will go down in history as one of the greatest! Dang… I need a McMuffin and a Big Mac!!
And some Mac and Cheese

Almost every time I've watched him on coverage he looks and acts extremely depressed, like he hates his job.
He has an incredible forehand but for eff sake at least get a backhand for upshots.
Eagle also played backhand only. It really just goes to show that you don't HAVE to be amazing at both. Yes, certain shot shapes are easier, and it is only an advantage to have both skills, but you can compete at an insane level playing only BH or only FH.

Had the absolute pleasure of witnessing this live right there at the crowd. You really could feel the tension building
I'm just thankful DGN used the same glitchy drone footage of 18 at the end of every video. What a brave choice 🙄
DGN screams cash grab. What grimy person in the DG community started it?
Eagle and Paul congratulations on the euro open. Amazing golf
Absolutely insane tournament. This battle will go down as an all-time classic
I'm lovin the large crowds!
Amazing round for Eagle. This was my favorite Tourney this year because of the return and domination of Eagle.
One of the best tourneys this year, wooow! Go Eagle 🦅!!! 🙌
I love how you've fluently managed to convert from feet to meters in your commentary. Professional to the max !
It's so great to see major sponsors like Ford and LLBean step up to support the sport.
What a battle! The OB on this course is so brutal. Honestly looks like one of the most difficult courses on tour and these dudes smoked it
Not to get into a pissing match but the course coming up for worlds might take the cake. Absolute disc golf classic
So happy for Eagle 🦅
Great commentary guys!
Deep breath before the tee shot on 17 🙏🏼
How about Nate Sexton taking 10th and securing his free pass to the 2023 USDGC!! Great job Nate. In this field he earned it!!
Past champs doesnt have to qualify...
I LOVE DISC GOLF!
Big Perki Commentary
Us McBeth Fans are crying right now
Love the commentary with Nate and Jeremy... if I had to listen to Terry Miller commentate again I wouldn't have watched the event.

I really enjoy Philos spin on commentary

hahahaha everyone just laughing like wtf even at pauls recovery shot on 13
What's Paul wearing on his feet? Peter Pan Puddle Jumpers? The guy is slipping all over the place. I blame his shoes.
Been watching disc golf for a long time but am a bit confused if you throw it out of bounds is it not stroke in distance how does eagle make par on 16
Island hole without penalty strokes

You don't get penalty for going OB around the island on 16. I think they mentioned special rules in one of the previous round replays.
it's special rules for hole 16. any OB shot is a re-throw (even the tee shot) but there's no additional OB stroke.
HD ? I'm glad I waited instead of paying for this poor footage quality. Great camera work, just bad gear.
We should call this production coverage "Fauxmez"
What's with that one frame of some other basket near the end of the hole 16 preview? Fight club flash-style.
Why did Eagle get par on 16? Why wasn't it a bogey?
The hole plays as hazard, re-throw without extra penalty
Ah... I came to ask the same. OB on 2, and then two more shots, makes 5 on most holes. I never saw a hole where OB had no penalty, even when it does play hazzard.
It is considered "No distance", not hazard, but yeah doesn't have a stroke penalty attached to it. It is a special sanction for certain island holes.

Any know what shoes Kevin Jones is wearing? They look pretty cool 😎
I can't believe they didn't say anything about how much earlier Paul was talking to Jones and said it would come down to 17.
1:28 👍
Whats up with the 90p video quality? The drone flyovers look horrible
How did eagle end up with a par on 16? No penalty stroke?
It's a re throw from previous position with no penalty stroke. Most often you gain progress to the point you went OB and take the extra stroke, but some island holes (that aren't par 3 and use a drop zone) use this re throw with no penalty stroke option.
were chandlers parents Friends and Seinfeld fans
Why do they keep zooming in on Kevin’s feet?
Is that a foot fault at 14:26 ??
if so, they need to change the rule.
It was 100% a foot fault. Play it in super slow mo and you see his mini move
Is one the commentators big jerm? Does he do jomez and this?
Kevin marking his lie on hole 10 was 👌. That deserved the applause, take note people.
How did Eagle get a par in hole 16? He missed the island, where is the penalty
I'm also confused on this. It seems like he should have taken a bogey.
This hole is interesting because if you go OB you rethrow with no penalty stroke. Just happens to be the rule for some holes
Its a weird hole, theres a couple like it that ive seen, but if you dont make to the indicated zone you dont actually take a stroke penalty but you have to shoot from the same lie until you get there, thats also why kevin took a bogey and not a double bogey

Worst idea ever... This is why discgolf is all over the place. A standard set of rules would be nice, you know like OB is well... a penalty.
Paige caddying for Kevin?
amazing

What happened on hole 16? Eagle throws #2 OB, sticks #3, putts #4 = 5 strokes... is there no OB if you miss the island?
No penalty for the missed island, just keep rethrowing until you make it.
A definite foot fault by Paul at 14:26. His mini moves.
Looks like the ground gave way as he slipped / fell
@@RibanRox Indeed, but still a fault.

Hate to see McBeth come up short from unforced errors. Congrats to Eagle, but always rooting for Paul.
Seems to be Paul's new thing...
Am I the only one confused about how Eagle took a par on 16 after his Tilt shot went OB on his second throw?
A missed shot to the island doesn't result in an extra stroke on this hole. It is considered "no distance" and you have to re-throw.
Was thinking the same thing
Shaggy probably cookin up a rightybacky
Pretty laggy frame rates, artifacts... locked behind pay wall until now. The end was already spoiled... come on DGPT, you can do better for the community.
