Hi Nigel, I am Eric from @Germiegraines, and I just discovered your video. I apologize for not responding to your email earlier, but it was not sent to my direct email. :) Thank you for sharing the video showcasing the New Product Award winner of the Garden Press Event 2024. All users are loving the efficiency of the tool, and for the first time, they are pleased to buy a seed growing tray that will last for decades. There is not another product in the world built to last that long while offering easy plant extraction. @MuddyBootz
Hi Nigel, you are a very good interviewer, you ask all the right questions throughout the journey. Very interestimg video anpit new products too. Thank you so much for sharing & taking the time to do this too. 😊
I’ve heard a lot about the event this year but it was nice to actually have a look around. Great to hear more about Alex as well - he’s got quite an adventure ahead! Thanks Nigel.
Fascinating what products are on the market. As Geoff Hamilton did I say make ya own paper pots using a mould. Any vessel from a glass to a bean tin (both ends out forming a cylinder).
Ive got a wooden 2 part former for making pots from newspaper. A bit too much time consuming for me, I prefer to buy tough plastic pots and trays that will last many years if cared for correctly 😀
Hi mate, it was a great event and it was good to meet up with you and fellow UA-camrs there. It was nice to see all the new products that are available. I have serious greenhouse envy 😅. A great video as usual. All the best, Nic
Hi Nigel, hope you don't mind a quick question if possible please, I have been watching your videos regarding adding manure, I know that I need to get on with this and have neglected to top up my three 2.4 metre raised beds yet. Where we live it is difficult to purchase or get hold of loose manure so was thinking about purchasing in bags, not the cheapest way but could you give me any tips please on a good brand I was thinking maybe Westland from our local garden centre or Levington from Wickes and maybe adding 6 bags to the top of each bed then recovering over with tarps before starting to plant end March /April? Many Thanks in Advance Andy
@@andyd3955 Hi Andy, the best (and cheapest) route for you is to purchase a bag of 6X 100% NATURAL FERTILISER. I think it is in orange and white bag. It looks like a fiberous coarse compost and you sprinkle a few handfuls on top of the soil and rake in. Also good to put some in a cotton/fine mesh bag and use as a tea bag in a barrel of water. Makes a great liquid feed. I use the small mesh recyclable veg bags with a draw string from Sainsbury (about 50p)
Morning Nigel, Perfect, many thanks, will save me lugging loads of bags from the garden centre, much obliged as always have a great day and thank you for taking the time to come back to me the tip about the mesh bag is a great idea too ....Cheers Andy
Hi Nigel,we haven’t found a peat free compost that’s any good so far, what’s the John innes? everyone seems to add this,we have used our own compost mixed with commercial &sand to bulk it out,not really happy with the peat free.
Hi Jackie, the J.I. are a few formulas based on loam. The additives in a lot of peat free composts now carry very little nutritional value, so it’s their way of bulking it up. Rumours from a number of compost companies is that peat compost will continue past Dec 2024, leaving suppliers to phase it out gradually. 🤞🏻
Enjoyed watching, looked a great event Nigel.
♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Good news on the compost front.... many of the compost suppliers "suggested". that the Dec. 2024 peat cut off date may be extended 😉🤞
@MuddyBootz I may treat myself to 4 bags next year then Nigel......😁.

So nice to meet up with other gardeners 👍👍, glad you all had a great time, Ali 🌦️🇨🇦
Hi Ali, time went so quickly. Although it is not the biggest of venues I still missed a few traders because time ran out ☹️

Look on line to make ya own paper pots. 🤩

I liked the Germie cells, Nigel. I think they will catch on. It won the Best New Product Award on the day if I am not mistaken.
Yes, a good invention, but I would like to see it a bit larger so that it would completely fill a standard seeded tray
I think The Dipping Tank Co. won the best new product award…. Germii got Highly Commended 👍🏻
@@MuddyBootz Just a thought. I wonder is seed trays are a different size in France?
@@DigwellGreenfingers Time to ask of favourite search engine 🤣
Thanks for the chat Nigel! 😀
You are welcome Alex, a wonderful project you have there 👏👏👏👏
🐝Thanks for the great video 🌻 good info

Hi Nigel. Very interesting exhibitors. You're at the cutting edge of gardening. Great vlog 👍 Elaine 🌱🌱
Hi Elaine, it always nice to see new products. Unfortunately not all of them make it to the big time ☹️
@@MuddyBootz Hi Nigel. Yes you're right. As a gardener you can split the wheat from the chaff. Have a productive weekend. Elaine 🌱 🌱
