Boy am I glad I finally found a Silhouette channel I can understand. I have had my CameoPlus for less than 24 hours and am LOST. I am going to find all your UA-cam videos as Rook Deb Pole said and watch every thing I can find.
Oh my goodness I just bought silhouette studio business addition and need to know how to use it! Eventually, I want to learn how to bring a PDF file into silhouette studio and turn it into an SVG so I can create a rhinestone design around the neckline of my tank top! I am going to go and watch all of your videos. Thank you.❤
The best part that sold me on the software was just being able to COPY & PASTE an image from memory into the software. I could never do that with my old US CUTTER software. I had to just through so many hoops and use 3 different programs just to convert to be able to use. This is all-in-one, great!
Man im going to have to watch this a couple more times while im doing it. This is awesome. I soooo gkad I found you, everything is Cricut.....which I dont have
Hi, I enjoyed watching your video, I'm currently working on a project, and I haven't been able to make it an SVG file. I'll try your method, and I will inform you of the process. Thanks
Hi I really appreciate your video. I just bought a silhouette portrait 3 a week ago and I'm excited to learn how to use it and especially with photos. I have a question when you put the picture on the vinyl did send it to the printer first?
This was amazing! What about tracing a second time but instead of the original photo, trace the previously traced image? Wouldn't this simplify the editing points for vinyl applications?
I don't think it would. The trace feature creates a ton of editing points, regardless of the shape or number of points in the original. In one of my latest videos, I used a circle to demonstrate this. The original had 4 points, the trace had too many to count.
I’m running silhouette studio business on a Mac book pro M3, when I open an image to trace I get a bunch of red lines, when I open a PNG file I also get a bunch of red lines. The software is also really slow on a new Mac book. Not sure what going on any input would be appropriated, my only guess is that processor Apple uses not compatible. I get a lag when placing the trace box also.
There is a known bug. Silhouette is working on it, but they don't have a release date yet. They are suggesting users download a legacy version, but I've had users say they've had better luck installing an older version of Mac OS.
Yes, it does! I've not played around with it much, but I have tried it out. I had a bit of trouble getting the settings right, but I think they've been added in the software.
This is a great video and I followed all of your directions and then my problems began. I have a cricket maker for my cutting machine and normally I do not have a problem bringing things in from Silhouette to Cricut design. This is not working for me. I typically group and then make a compound path. Do you know what else I need to do? Please help me😢 thank you in advance!
Grab some pen adapters, pens, and cardstock. The ones for the cameo 4 will fit in the 5. I'm not sure if the new ones have been released yet. I took a break to get ready for Christmas. But I would suggest not using the cameo brand sketch pens. They don't last very long.
Hello, I have watched a couple of your videos. I am still having issues with the Shihouette Studio software when is comes to saving my project. The software only has 3 options save as V2, V3, or GPS file format. Neither is a SGV file format nor does these file format works with my cutter machine. Any suggestions of what I am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.
The Basic Edition of the software only allows you to save as a Silhouette file. You can import Silhouette files, Jpeg, PNG, and DFX files. If you want to import SVGs, you'll need to upgrade to Designer Edition. If you need to save in different formats, you'll want to upgrade to Business Edition. The upgrades were on sale last time I looked (Silhouette website) Business Edition is $50 when it's on sale, and that's a one-time fee.
I'm new to Cameo & using a new to me Cameo 2. I have the Basic edition of Silhouette Studio and I know that does not include ability to use .svg files. I've tried, unsuccessfully, using this same technique to turn a picture to a .dxf file. Is this even possible or do I need to pay for an upgrade to be able to do this?
Hi. Love your tutorials but still can’t get the chance to try them since my New cameo 4 plus won’t sync with my new MacBook Pro! Can you please help? I believe you are using a MacBook in your tutorials. Was considering buying the new usb Bluetooth dongle but don’t know which one to buy as most aren’t Mac compatible, at least for sale on Amazon. As an Official Silhouette Instructor, I am hoping you can help me with this frustrating situation. Thank yo for you time and assistance! -Dave S.
I'm on a Windows system. I don't know how much help I'm going to be. They should be able to pair without any modification, but the dongles in the Cameos are not great. Is the Bluetooth button blue when you're trying to connect?
@@silhouettesuccess Use SILHOUETTE STUDIO to Turn a Picture into an SVG!! I am not interested in the people, but in an SVG. Did not find the information to get it after the procedure.
@nobodyisperfect1564 the traced image is a cut file. I probably should have chosen my words better. This was one of my first videos, so I was a disaster. It's technically a silhouette file at that point. You can save that as an svg if you have business edition.
Watch this to learn all about the transform panel! ua-cam.com/video/7Dc5y49uw6M/v-deo.html

Well done! I am looking forward to trying this! Thank you!
Thank you! This is one of my favorites. I'm working on motivational jars, next. 😍
I had no idea you could do this! Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching!
I liked them both. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. I want to make vinyl stickers from my photos and add text. This was helpful to understand

I liked the vinyl the best. I need to watch agar how to change png to a cut file.

I'm always pausing tutorials and doing the thing at the same time. 😅 It's the easiest way for me to learn.
Explained so simple. Excellent!
Thank you! 😊

Have you joined the FB group? You can post the pic there and get help if you get stuck!
Wow how big is that laptop screen? It looks huge from this angle. Starting to use files to cut on laser F1.

Nope. That's cut out of plain vinyl!
I liked the cut image better.
Absolutely helpful and easy to follow. Thank you

When I’m using my old 2012 MacBook Pro I have no issues, it’s wired.
I am thinking of buying a cameo 5. Does the embossing work well with it? Thanks.
Yes, it does! I've not played around with it much, but I have tried it out. I had a bit of trouble getting the settings right, but I think they've been added in the software.
Hi can you use this method for engraving?
Yes, absolutely

if you save the first or second image to svg file can you use it to engrave on wood?
That should work! What are you using to engrave?
Im just now getting a cameo 5. What do i all need to sketch?

You need Business Edition in order to save your work as anything other than a Silhouette file. You can import a dfx with basic.
I followed along and now I want to save it, how do I save my image as PNG or SVG to engrave in cricut please.
You need business edition to export as a PNG or SVG.

??? Where is the SVG ??? 🔍
I didn't save the svg. It was just a random photo of people I don't know.

@@silhouettesuccess THX, I have not a business edition.
Way too much, "Then I do this." and not nearly enough, "This is WHY I do this."
I appreciate the constructive criticism. This was one of my first videos. I think I have improved some since then.
