Thank you for the most concise yet comprehensive explanation of these important concepts of physics. Could you please be so kind to also explain how sometimes we have a scenario where we have diffused reflections under a specular or direct reflection? For example when photographing a gloss painted metal surface and applying the rule of equal angles we are able to cut off the direct reflections by eliminating that component of light that is oscillating in the same plane of the surface that it hits by using a depolarizer on the lens (this with the recording medium sits within the family of reflectance angles to capture that oscillation of light). However, eliminating that component of light will still result in diffused reflection that are beneath the specular reflection. My question is: where are these oscillations responsible for the diffused reflections coming from? If we are talking about a glossy surface such as gloss paint on metal like in a car can we assume this is a microscopically smooth surface that yields an image forming reflection of the light source? Provided we do not use cross-polarization at both ends of the light source and the recording medium how do we experience diffused reflections under direct reflections if the surface in question is microscopically smooth therefore all angles of incidence are equal to the angles of reflectance? Your help in explaining this dilemma would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

3:38 what if you looked at the paper in such a way that the reflected ray of light was caught by your eye?

Love your work. It’s missing a couple things to be hyper realistic. Introduce some stitching. Especially around the hood. The shine like you mentioned. Would be worth doing some reading on light, speculation, and diffusion and how they play a roll with different materials. If you can fake some sort of fuzz. Not really sure how you can make editable fuzz. Maybe tiny flecks of cotton candy? I’ll leave the edible part to you. And the white of the zipper is too thick. Hope this helps. Your work really is fantastic.
