The haka's that the All Blacks do have nothing to do with praying to God. It's mostly used as a method of uniting and synchronizing the team as one unit.
all blacks in my opinion have the most and strongest of pride...thts y we are a strong team and put up a good fight...dont go dising our haka just coz no other country has a haka filed with so much emotion as ours. this new haka is awesome if only it showed a better angle =]
I definitely agree...Prayers are good. I'm an American/Pacific Islander and I still think the Haka looks violent and probably promotes violence. You think God is intimidated by the Haka? Whatever the case, it's their sole choice if they all agree to pray and be glad to be playing a game. If they take this game too seriously, someone is going start teasing or instigating a fight.

I dunno much bout NZ traditions, but could anyone tell me if they do the Haka only in rugby or they do it also in other sports? I mean, for example, would they do it also in an international football, cricket or basketball match?? I cant imagine New Zealand's national football team doing the Haka before a qualify match for the FIFA World Cup against Australia or whoever. I dont think FIFA would allow it, but would b so cool to c the Haka against Brazil, Italy, Argentina, Spain, France, England

Perhaps he supports the side that prays harder or more often. Pretty soon you will have all teams spending their time praying and not playing. In this scenario a team of Under 11s could beat the world champions. Not very likely. Hey it's a new proof that God does not exist.

I've seen a Maori haka performed right in front of me at a New Zealand Exhibition. It's loud and startling and gives me goosebumps.
