It's actually about children who are left behind while their parents (or one parent) leave to work in an other country. In Europe Romanians are known to be cheap workers who come to industrial countries like the UK or Germany.

This song has a strong message, the band Is great, the vocals are great! In an interview the vocalist talked about the fear he had that the song colud be the first romanian entry not to qualify to the final. Obviously they did and the message was heard! This Is my winner of this year!
Love that song. Chorus is really memorable and what a beautiful language?! Sometimes I wish countries should sing more in their native language. Why have they stopped running subtitles on live TV broadcasts? I believe they did that a number of years ago, or maybe they still do it in some countries?!

U cant exactly raise a child without being there. Clearly such parents have the right idea, just executed poorly because the lack of parental figures does affect the child. Even if they have everything they ever want because the parents decide to leave to support said child financially.
Romania always brings the staging, mannequins, cannons, suitcases,holograms, nude dancers, a see through piano, or street cans as drums. They always do their best.
Beautiful!!!!!! It was such a great performance, and his voice is unique!! That's the best example that you don't need a huge show and a lot of action on stage to be absolutely awesome and amazing!!!

2015 is a vintage year, and this song is one of the reasons. It's the year I listen to the most, so many fabulous songs!! And everything worked great that year. 2016 was also good, but 2015 has that little bit extra. Romania was wonderful and was on my playlist for a long time, in it's English as well as Romanian version. For me that's the best song that ever came from Romania. Normally they send eurotrash songs which I don't care for. This was different, simply pure and strong. Wonderful.

This was a beautiful song and I loved it very much and It was great that their message was heard. It’s about the children that unfortunately gets left behind as their parents leave their country to work elsewhere. Hence the suitcases on the stage and the “Don’t leave your children behind.” Even the vocals were great and the song just had such an amazing atmosphere. In fact, the music video had a part in the beginning where it gives a bit of the story and the boy was there. Btw, the little boy’s so cute!!

in fact it was not phenomen only for Romania, but before crisis in Syria, many East European countries adults moved to work abroad in western or northern Europe, leaving behind their kids with their grandparents, or other relatives...that way they grown up without parents...although their parents are alive, just very far away...

while i appreciate your take on what the song means & represents, it's actually referencing how many romanian families are split as parents have to go elsewhere to work & send back to the family, leaving their children with relations while they are gone. the music video better represents this. it was being played in the background. Voltaj is a highly respected philanthropic group in Romania.

There's a long backstory to the video -- it's about the kids being left behind when parents emigrate away seeking work and income.
