  • The PANTHER PQ50L thermal riflescope from HikMicro, boasting 35mk thermal sensitivity, 12μm imaging sensor, and 50fps full frame, is the new big cat on the market and as a company they are certainly out to get their claws into the market with this one. Mark Ripley investigates in this Shooting Show Short.

would like to have seen you use the rangefinder function to fully show all the package but still good fun. Thanks

I must say I’m very impressed with that scope considering I’ve always used pulsar thermal. The clarity and detail is second to none and nice shooting too mark with those 2 foxes, Great review too. 👍

I expect a good video when I see you, Mark, in it. You didn't disappoint. Wish I could afford all the great kit you show off. Could see the need to be careful around the sheep. The farmer wouldn't be happy if a shot went astray.

I'll never be able to afford one in a million years, but it's brilliant to see it in action!

Hi Mark, I was curious, what ranges were these taken at?

Nice vid and footage 👍 clarity is very good out of the units from Hik. Be great to see the 1 shot zero element as a firmware update onto sligtly older units such as the Hik micro thunder 👍👀👍

Shame you didn't actually use the laser rangefinder considering thats the whole point of this scope. Otherwise this video could just as well have been for any of the HIK scopes.....

How have you got sound they don't record sound and for those who asked the rangefinder a pain till you get used to it a quick press takes a photo you have to keep button in for about 4 seconds and keep eye on top corner to see reading

Fantastic video. I'm debating whether to get the PH50L or PQ50L. Looks like the PQ is definitely a nice scope.

Did you decide? I’m looking at PH50L because greater base magnification , I think better for long shots than PQ

Nice one Mark, so you were happy shooting both these foxes with the HIKMICRO Panther on 1x digi mag (2.6x base mag)?
That's the same as Bruce and his buddy did recently in the last of our videos reviewing the HIKMICRO TQ50C (rabbit control with 22LR), such an awesome clear image isn't it?
Errr we don't actually see you use the LRF function, did you forget or just know from experience these foxes were well within range of your flat-shooting centrefire rifle?
...and does the built-in LRF centre measure within the [ ] square brackets we can see just above the crosshairs?
Bruce and I are even more keen to review this awesome scope now... 🤤😎
Keep up the good work, cheers. Russ
