      Regis/Meredith always asks for the contestant’s final answer regardless of what question they’re on. It just gets edited out for broadcast.

      Not necessarily. If a contestant takes a bit to answer, Regis would still ask final answer on the sub 1000 questions, even if it was right.

      Regis was giving a hint at around 11:10 that flour is not the correct answer because frittata is an Italian dish and flour is Mexican. If I was him, I would have definitely gone with eggs. That was a dead giveaway, I can't believe he didn't catch it.

      @@glitchedblood Half-right. For the first five questions, the music bed never played in studio, it was added in post. This is because the first five questions are usually quickly done and anything prolonging the sequence would need to be cut down. It’s much easier for editors to simply not have music playing.

      @@glitchedbloodI think most versions they tend to choose to not play the BGM in-studio because they edit in the music to make it clearer, and if there’s 2 playing at once it could jumble it up, or if the studio speakers invert the audio, it could cancel out the music entirely.

The music for the first five questions isn't played because they edit those down a lot, and the music is much more complex and would sound awful when edited. When listening carefully you can notice the 2000 and above songs are jumping around but they were written by the Strachan's to do that seamlessly.

      i mean, im 34, i didn't go to college, but I'm not completely clueless. Im an american and yeah, these are some obscure questions. Like you gotta know some real old school shit to get a lot of these. who the hell born after 1986 remembers most nursery rhymes? little jack horner? I've probably heard that nursery rhyme once or twice in my life.

    The sound effect when they get the question wrong for a $0 win sounds like an OOPS. The rest of the sound effects for incorrect answers later in the game sound like you are in bigger trouble!

    In the UK version, all 8 £0 winners answered question 5 incorrectly. One of those did so on the 300th edition, which was broadcast live.

    That presidential primary question is a dumb question. The Iowa caucus comes before the New Hampshire primary and serves the same purpose (nominating presidential candidates), only under a different format.

    The original British show launched in 98 (wow!) with Chris tarrant.
    Followed by Australia, USA and Russia in 99 amongst others.
    Pretty much the whole world has a version by now. Even as late as 2018 they started a Mauritian version.

    I think the "blue state" question was poorly worded, confusing, and possibly deceptive. A double entendre crossword clue usually ends with a question mark to denote this. The phrase "red state" may not have even been in the crossword puzzle. Just saying.

      The llama on Tax Free Week was Stan Wu, and syndicated winner Kevin Smith was in the ring that night (meaning he didn't make it out of Fastest Finger; thus allowing him to tryout for the daytime version with Meredith Vieira; during his million-dollar question, he mentioned Stan's question).

    While impossible, I'll try to one day find the contestant who begged the producers to not show them being a llama. I narrowed it down to Michael Kriegbaum and I think Pat Tarver. Maybe they are both llamas. Either way, I just wanna know which of those two are the phantom llama, after finding on the now defunct ATGS news group
