I have 4 of the Wyze cams, I’m going to need a couple of these.
Can it brighten upon detection? I want them to power my garage lights at maybe 70% and go to 100% when it detects motion
I've thrown electricity sockets though over the sealing and I'm powering 3 pan cams, and 4 wyze cam v2, seeing this solution before it would have saved me a lot of money...
The cable from the socket to the Cam looks pretty short; are longer ones available?
Can Wyze please add support for multiple accessories such as the Wyze spotlight and the lamp socket should be able to be used together. Even if you were only able to use the lamp socket for power and then not use it for any automations
Just replaced a second socket thinking the first was just a dud after not working properly after about a week working with no issues.
Installed second one with a 10 watt bulb (no built in sensors, just a simple light bulb with a rating lower than the max quoted) and within 2 weeks of using the replacement, poof! now that one has gone. All you hear is a relay clicking with the switch turned on and off like the first one installed. Camera power works fine.
Had the wiring checked and everything is working how it should be, so no wiring issues.
Work is still needed on this socket!.
Will the lamp socket work with the new wyze cam og & wyze cam telephoto combo?
I already have 3 v3 cams. I can use one of these instead of buying the starter kit, correct?
Just got the socket today!
What is the size of the socket ? I have a enclosed wall coach light and it has limited space.
I preordered a number of sockets, I wasn’t aware that u had to have a V3 for the socket to work. I assume that the light socket could be screwed into a socket with a regular bulb and I should be able to control the light…
1) So I presume this will work with other product that use USB?
2) What is the sensitivity of the socket ?
3) I wonder if it works with those out door leds?
So you can only use this with the v3? Not any camera with a USB hookup?
could a splitter be used to power a second or 3rd v3
Can you use the V3 pan camera with this socket?
I need to connect 2 cams one close to the lamp socket and one far away from the socket can I buy 2 lamp sockets and use the longer cable that came in the cam?
These things must have flown off the shelves. When are you getting more in stock?
Camera placement above or below the lamp bulb?
Can you use the v3 cam pan with this?
@1:00 Will it mount magnetically to my vinyl siding ✊🏾
What happens when a Cam V2 is used? I'm not being stubborn about upgrading to a V3, I just need a pan cam which right now is only a V2 cam. As long as it gives power to the camera and power to the Wyze bulb I will be happy. I do not any features you have built with this socket to work with a V3 and lights. Is there a power limit on this socket that prevents me from using a pan camera on this USB port on the socket?
Does it come in 220 volts ?
Can I power my pan v3 with this?
i got the lamp socket and my v3 will not work with the socket i have no controll of my outside light. ive reinstalled and nothing
Could you put a wyze lamp socket into a wyze lamp socket?
Great now make them in candlebrella size too.
So, the bundle that includes the lamp socket + wyzecam v3 is currently $48.99. However, you can buy a standalone wyzecam v3 ($29.99) and a standalone lamp socket ($10.99) for $40.99, which is $8 cheaper. Does this make sense? No, it does not. ALSO, if you buy a standalone wyzecam v3, you get way more stuff, such as these:
"Indoor USB Power Adapter x2
6 Feet Outdoor Rated USB Cable x2"
Check the product description to see exactly what you're getting. I wouldn't get the bundle if I were you.
So I mistakenly bought 2 individual sockets not realizing I need the V3. Can I order a couple of V3’s and make the add-on sockets work or do you have to have the starter bundle first?
Hi there! Your Wyze Lamp Sockets alone should come with the special USB cable cord, so you should have no issues connecting your add-on Cam v3 cameras.
Is there an extension cable I can use for this? the supplied one isn't long enough.
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. While we don’t offer an extension USB cable for Wyze Lamp Socket at this time, it's been a popular request! Our product team is always looking for ways to improve our current products and to know what our fans would like to see next.

I need more length for the wires, is there an extention? Or can I use a usb and micro usb cable to connect to light socket for longer cable?
Given that Wyze Lamp Socket comes with a dedicated cable to connect to a Cam v3, we suggest using the cable that comes with your Lamp Socket. While we currently don’t have an extended cable available, it’s been a popular request. I have 2 lamps wired to 1 light switch, can I have multiple lamp sockets and cameras being powered on to one light switch?
Thanks for reaching out! As long as your Wyze Lamp Sockets are used in different light fixtures, there shouldn't be an issue with this. 🙂
Need the light socket to work independently
"... or else my wife won't be too happy with me." 🤣
Problems is ....you are limited by the design of the lighting fixture you are using the docket in. It may or may not work . But overall all a great effort.
Does this have any anti-hacking?
Yea, set up for me has not been this easy. I've tried multiple ways of setting this up & the socket will not work. I've found no information regarding the socket & V3 cams that have the RTSP firmware. The socket gets power, powers the V3 camera & the light will work (power on (unscrewing/screwing in the lightbulb)), however within the Wyze app there is no option for controlling/configuring the socket itself. Only the camera is able to be controlled/settings modified. There is no lightbulb indicator next to the IR settings on the apps UI. Tapping the accessories setting for the camera results in an "Uh oh, check wifi" message even though in the setup process it says I have a great connection (mere feet from the router).
Get used to the following "support" from fellow "expert" users:
It's your wi-fi
it's your network
it's your ISP
it might be that your walls are too thick
try moving the device closer to the router.
try turning it off and then on again
and , of course the always popular... "what did you expect for $35??
Three questions. Will Wyze adopt the Matter standard? Will Wyze adopt HomeKit? Will the Wyze app ever include the ability to also be viewed in landscape?
@@tomalexander877 Ye, only when viewing live video. But for example, Settings, no.
We're a part of the Matter consortium and look forward to what that can hopefully bring in the future as it scales out, including HomeKit! No promises quite yet, but we're advocating for as much interoperability and compatibility with our existing products as we can.
The Wyze app may need some floorboards ripped up in order to add support for Landscape mode. This is on our long-term radar, and we hope to bring support some day. :)
@@wyze I appreciate you getting back to us, though I'm disappointed that landscape is a long term thing. Still love wyze though. What you guys do, bringing good quality products without the corporate greed makes me smile. 👍👍
Just bought one. It won 't work or connect to my V3 in the app. Keeps saying "uh-oh Something is wrong..." in the app when trying to select it in the Accessories section. I've uninstalled
einstalled it and the camera and the power 3 times but no love. 😔 So it only functions to pass through power to the V3 for me. Also, the camera extension cord is pretty short so you will need to have the camera very close to the light source.
Im having the same problem. Any luck?
Because the cord was so short I bought a longer cord. Do you think that’s the problem?
I got one connected to a v3 and it works. Adding more sockets isn’t working.
We're sorry you can't get those to connect! For this one, we'd recommend working with our support team because they're better equipped to help resolve these kinds of issues. You can contact them through go.wyze.com/3SFksG9. Is there anything else we can help you with today?
I'm having trouble connecting my Socket to my internet. I have AT&T Fiber 5GHz and I keep seeing during installation process to connect to 2.4GHz network. Will the Wyze Socket work with my internet?
This is such a fantastic idea I was wanting to put a camera out on the front porch but didn’t know how to run wire so this is a great solution
My biggest problem is the dongle on the camera it is short ASF someone can come by and disconnect your camera....... Make the dongle at least 3ft-5ft problem solved
6:05 So, this doesn't apply if I have a Wyze Switch installed, correct?
Hi there! Although you can use the Wyze Switch to control other Wyze devices, turning off the switch that controls the electric current going to the Lamp Socket will still be like flipping a normal switch off and turning off the connected camera.
Thank you for the clarification. I'm still a little confused, though. Why will the Wyze socket not work with the Wyze switch off, but the Wyze bulb I currently have installed will turn on with the Wyze switch off? I appreciate any further clarification you can give.
Please fix CamPlus.
What are the purposes for smart bulbs along with simple sensors. I am the the only one here who felt like the wheel is being reinvented?
@Alex Burke This socket primarily brings power to the V3 camera you might mount next to an existing outdoor wall sconce
I think you miss a oportunity to make this product even better, i have this but now my cameara broke but i can dont turn off my light bulb really stuped idea, i dont need the camera but wanan use the socket but i cannot omgggg
Mmm. But the U.K uses so many different light fitting connections. Never understood that in this day and age why the U.K has not decided to try and confirm that all light fittings will be, say screw in bulbs and all new buildings will be say screw in bulbs only for your property. Industrial equipment may be different due to the power needed.
Wyze Cam 3 = 29.99, Lamp Socket = 10.99. (40.98). Wyze Cam 3 and Lamp Socket Bundle = 49.99
Make it compatible with the new OG
Thanks so much for your suggestion! We'll make sure to pass this feedback along to our team. Our product team is always looking for ways to improve our current products and to know what our fans would like to see next.

Can the socket work with the pan cam v3?
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. Wyze Cam Pan 3 is not compatible with the Lamp Socket. Wyze Lamp Socket is only compatible with Wyze Cam v3.
Dam you broke the camera when you smacked it against the table. OD
So basically you’re saying that the Camera is doing all the work and the socket is just to turn on the light? That sounds like a rip off deal because the socket should be capable of being stand-alone. What if i don’t want the camera outside and only a socket to control dusk to dawn settings where the light comes on? It seems tge wyze socket isn’t capable of doing that. I do appreciate your honesty however of mentioning that and maybe wyze should ensure that is written in bold print.
Sold out :(
great job 📢
Why is the Wyzecam necessary? What if I want to convert a lamp to a smart lamp without grouping or camera? Why is that not an option? That's just weird...
@@MTGApollo well, if you're looking to use specialty bulbs like edison bulbs, smart bulbs are not a solution. But I'm actually more worried about what happens if I decide to disconnect my Wyze cam at some point. Will I be left with a non functional socket? That's kind of weird.
@@noamh.1628 then a smart light switch , or even better a smart relay like Shelly 1 would be best if you don't want to mess with the bulbs themselves.
😮
its so ugly having wires coming out bottom of the lamp
Fact:
"That's very EXPENSIVE for a LAMP SOCKET, as you can buy a simple one, that also can connect TWO cameras with 1/4 the price, period."
Have a great day to y'all!
Please share how as i’m interested. I recently bought a dusk to dawn socket for only $6.50 which is cheaper than this and i’m not forced to buy a camera for the socket to work.
Nice
NEED A BIOMETRIC DOORLOCK WITH BUILT-IN KEYPAD
This video is a bit of a mess. I still don't know what the socket ACTUALLY DOES. Is it merely a variation on a smart outlet specifically for a v3 camera--that also requires a v3 camera to function? Any standard socket outlet with a regular USB power brick plugged into it , along with any smart bulb, and any camera, would do the same thing. What am I missing? I assume Wyze bulbs are already groupable--and if not directly in the Wyze app, they certainly would be anyway via Google Home or Alexa. And if the socket actually IS "smart" somehow, why are you also using Wyze bulbs? And all of this before I've ever even looked at whatever the price point is for any of this. It's all just coming across as weirdly convoluted to me, and I feel like I know less now after watching the video than I did beforehand.
It basically just makes your outdoor light smart, as well as the ability to power a v3. As far as I know it doesn't require the cameta
Geeez...more spaghetti to hook up to the meatballs..cords, cords..everywhere more cords..'n clips, 'n sticky tabs, 'n so on..crikies
..sorry, pass👎🏼too limiting for location choices..I'll stick to my wireless set up
Glad you reiterated the need for the V3 Cam. Now can you make the socket black.
I appreciated this as well. I almost pre-ordered just the socket thinking I could just use one of my v2 cams, but chose to get the bundle because the v3 has the colour night vision. Glad I did. I also wish they would come in black. My front porch light housing is black.
Yes! Make it BLACK!!
Just paint the socket black for a $3 can of spray paint?
