I know the first reshoot was after leaks popped out and saw a random band of Portland bound misfits only one of which was a little person walking as the "7 Dwarfs" as scary as it sounds doubling the cost of the movie probably saved their asses.
Disney really needs to fire all these "progressive" VPs who try to push agendas. "Oh you like ice cream do you? you grew up with it, it's delicious, what's your favorite flavor? Chocolate? Cool i got you covered" ... Now introducing a plant based broccoli and tofu flavored dessert paste ICE CREAM. What are you complaining about? When Pro says that Mufasa was the one movie Disney had zero cncerns over before the trailer, then dismisses it at a hudnred percent not earning a profit for this year, I mean technically YES, because of when it cmes out, it will be 2025 befre a fair amount of the money cmes in it for it, but it is still a 2024 film and will be n this year's charts. And yes, I know there was backlash but in Pros first video regarding it, the argument was made there was no real issue and still it got sme heat.
HOnestlyh at this point it seems like Mufasa has a better shot of storming the box office than Moana 2. Except that Universal gave up the fight and are letting Disney have Thanksgiving t themselves. Just saying, they KNOW that Thanksgiving is when Disney movies come out, yet they still gave both Wicked films those release dates. They even gave How t Train Your Dragn the release date for Elio, again smething that Disney always claims, the Friday before or that IS Juneteenth. How t Train Your Dragn als had a much earlier in the year release before it was moved to that date. I mean at least in THAT case, it is obvious who wins, whereas the Mufas versus Snic thing is still debatable especiablly in light of the Inside OUt 2 being a smash hit scenario.

Becoming a generic Alvin and the Chipmunks CGI clone isn't going to save this movie, just make it fall off the radar fast. At least the original DEI outrage 'six dirty hippies and one dwarf' would have driven 'hate watching' and mocking reviews. A half-animated CGI remake will please no one, and defeats the entire point of a live-action remake in the first place. I predict this movie will land with a thud, and have massively low viewership. They have not saved anything. The best choice would have been to not try on this particular movie, and the third best option would probably be the CGI crap, but with CGI, you have to go cheap to make any money, and by going with it last, after all the other movie ideas they filmed and scrapped, they will never sell enough tickets to pay for the other two movies we will never see.
Rachel Zegler should just go away...... for about 10 years. I am at the point that I just can't stand her. The way she tried to destroy Jeremy Renner's career so she could roll in on his "Hawkeye" character in the Avengers was downright evil.
In 10 years she'd be too old. Now is the time where she has to build her career in order to still have one once she's hit the wall. And now is the time where she destroyed her career by embracing politics and showing us her ugly character.

I am a first party claims adjuster. I had a co-worker issue payment to somebody for $22k for some damage to their floors. Unfortunately, the policy had an exclusion listed that excluded water damage from broken plumbing, appliances, etc.
This co-worker, although had been quite stellar up to this point, had made a mistake that cost the company $22K. He was fired and he understood why he was fired.
My question is, how can someone make decisions that ultimately cost this company half a billion dollars and still retain their position? I'm no entertainment attorney, but that seems like negligence at the highest level.
Iger is running the show with an ego bigger than the company. When a board meant to oversee a CEO but won't as in this case as he seems to tell them what to do as well as having a seat on it (conflict of interest), you've got a dictatorship. Shareholders had the chance to improve the board via 2 new members including one who'd worked at Disney for decades but Iger/current board spent company money to publicly fight large shareholders with the majority going with status quo. The current board owns few to no Disney shares. So no one's defending Disney as a company. The only scenario left is complete failure and asset sell off ending this chapter of it's history.
The short answer is that someone must be financially backing this rubbish. The other part is that it has not only been allowed, but endorsed. Just follow the money.
@@jonhall3151 well, usually when one follows the money, they find where it is going. But in these cases, the money just disappears.
Personally, I think that Disney has very little or no checks & balances. I think that they probably have exorbitant catering bills and they all stay at 5 star hotels when they're on location. But I think the bulk of the money goes to people who like to appoint themselves executive producer so they get a big chunk of change without having done anything. That used to be a rather narrow scope, but with Disney it looks like it has expanded exponentially in the last decade.

The Dwarf thing in the original they didn’t live in a cave! They were good miners because they were short! That was a good thing!
I was about 3 years old when I first saw Snow White. Even later as a child, I never thought of the dwarves as humans because I didn't know the word and I didn't think the drawings looked like humans. I thought of them as something made up. They all had massive noses and Dopey's huge ears... I can't imagine any way that I would find a live action version appealing when I picture the dwarves as actual people. There is an innocence that shines through the cartoon dwarves that cannot be achieved with humans, even creepy CGI dwarves.
Even as a child, you understood that the movie was a fairy tale and not real life. It's too bad that today's wolk left is too emotionally immature to understand that.
I always understood they were fantasy dwarves, even when I was a kid. The woke though can't seem to differentiate between fantasy characters and real people.

They could simply make the BROTHERS GRIMM version of the story, where Snow White gets "saved" by the dwarves stumbling while carrying her crystal coffin ... which then makes her spit out the piece of poisoned apple that got stuck in her throat ... which makes her wake up. Only then she gets to "interact/MARRY" the prince (who didnt "violate" her with a kiss before).
They kinda did that in Snow White: A Tale Of Terror.
I liked the part where the Huntsman killed Snowbrown with an exploding headshot, ripped her spine out, looked at the camera and said, “It’s morbin’ time!” I got chills.
Honestly sounds like a better movie imo.

I’m sure they haven’t taken it out, but apparently one thing that they did take out was some sword fighting scene at the end where snow White supposed to fight the queen right and from what I can find out Zegler pitched an absolute stink over it. She went insane According to her, the sword fighting scene was supposed to be her redemption arc and make people love her first of all that has sailed second of all snow White you’ve already ruined her and if they would’ve kept that that would’ve made things worse third of all, Zigler truly thinks that she’s gonna be the next Adriana Caselotti that ain’t gonna happen. OK that ain’t gonna happen.

$400 million production budget + $150 million in distribution and advertising = $550 million. That move needs to make $1.3 billion in ticket sales to break even, not counting financing costs.
And that's, uhh... that's not going to happen.
Figure what 200 mil worldwide? Netting Disney 100 mil in revenue, for a 450 mil loss.

Right? Zegler has no comprehension of or appreciation for the source material. Snow White was a feat of history by being a full-length film of hand-illustrated animation in 1937…. This was a time after WWI and The Great Depression. People began looking to movies for a break from a bleak reality. Snow White was mesmerizing, hilarious, and imaginative to the audiences of 1937. It was a true fairytale and gave the hopeless romantic a love story to dream about. Rachel Zegler has absolutely no idea what she is talking about and her stale, robotic, contentious, far-left programming is showing. I would be surprised if she has even seen the original movie.
For Disney, it does not matter it every movie they make cost ten times more than they make from it, It's all about the message.
I was going to make the same joke about R. Zegler aging in and out of each scene.... Great minds think alike!
Hey Iger! I’ll go see this movie in the theater no less than ten times (I think others would too)… if your re-shoots did this:
-Used actual real dwarves with the original character names
-Rachel Zegler’s skin is lightened with cgi
-Snow White is hopelessly in love with an extremely masculine white guy
-You fade to black at the end of the film with Trump 2024 appearing on screen
-End credits scene of KK getting fired

I LOVE this! I despise everything about Disney and I HOPE they continue to spend a FORTUNE on flop after flop. The sooner Disney loses all their money and dies, the better it will be for all those who are craving actual GOOD entertainment. All this "loss" is giving the share holders EXACTLY what they wanted when they voted to keep Bob Iger!
I sure love my cameos and big budgets but I also get the argument about lower budgets. There's room for both. But if you're gonna go big with the budget, you gotta justify it with quality and prep. No Way Home had a massive budget but they knew the concept they had was a gold mine. Same with Deadpool 3. I don't think it's a one size fits all with lowering budgets, they just gotta be more responsible with them.
So now it's time for test audience!

I don't think there's hippie-looking characters were supposed to be originally the Seven Dwarfs cuz there's eight of them, but what looks like a rush job of the CG work for the actual dwarves that they showed these me to believe that originally they might have had them cut out of the story altogether. After fans started getting upset they did a rush job to introduce them in hence with the reshoots to make it work better possibly I could be wrong

Yeah, the lousy CGI publicity photo with the real dwarfs pretty much confirmed that the rumors were true. You could be onto something. Perhaps the 7 hippies getting together and marching to the castle with Snow White were just a sort of cameo reference to the dwarfs, and they weren’t originally integral to this entire story. I hope someone tells the whole story someday. Or leaks the unused footage.
This still needs to be cancelled. It's the biggest "Eff you" to Walt Disney yet, and will damage the company years after Iger's gone. Zeigler should also be cancelled like how she got Gina Carano wrongfully cancelled.

Snowwhite is simply not interesting enough for a high budget movie. It has already a bunch of low budgets adaptions and there is nothing in the source material that screams "we can spent a lot of money to create something amazing".
Seriously where do you spend that money? A castle? Well in europe you find a lot of castles. An old cottage should also be not a problem. A forest is also nothing special. How do you waste potentially a 100M+ dollar budget on it.
Snowwhite should be just a 10M dollar Disney+ special nothing more.
Two years? Remember, for Lord of the Rings they spent about 15 months shooting. And that was for THREE major films.

@@carloshenriquezimmer7543 - I understand that got nearly 20 hours of usable footage, but they had to cut it down to ten hours for release in cinemas. I would REALLY like it if they eventually released the rest of the footage.
Remember, Disney makes most of its money at the parks and with licencing, so its not enough to not watch its crap you have to not visit or buy its crap to hurt them.

The average Disney movie, especially the divisive ones, make about 500 mln. Therefore if the movie is going to cost more then 250 mln including marketing, either don't proceed or cut the losses and bin it as a tax write off. There's no way in hell this movie will ever make its original money back, let alone the reshoot money. But somehow Disney has a sunk cost fallacy problem. And I am loving it as I LOVE watching Disney lose money.

Rachel Zegler, Brie Larson, Robert De Niro: all actors whose movies I will not watch ... which kinda sucks, because I'd wanted to watch "Scott Pilgram v. The World" and a couple other movies, to support other actors, but I won't, because I refuse to watch movies with those people in them.
Brie Larson was in a pretty good movie around 2015 called The Glass Castle.

You know, another way of looking at this is they are deliberately looting the company, and paid their friends triple hoping for a payback later.
It took 7 months to film “Gone With the Wind” in 1939. It took 4 months to film “The Ten Commandments” plus 14 months post production. Filing for “The Sound of Music” started in March, 1964 and the film was released 1 year later.
The Ten Commandments cost $13,000,000 to make in 1956. That’s about $149 million in today’s money. It had a huge cast of big stars, huge stars in their days. I counted 9 whose names I remember from my childhood.
These were three big movies of the past. They were long, with intermissions, and made huge profits. And now Disney can’t make a decent film without running into all kinds of problems, and spending much more money.

I'm a HUGE trade unionist, but I have to say the problem with Hollywood's massive overspending is due to US unions as they are run ar$e backwards. Simplified: European Unions are run from the bottom up. problems are dealt with Shop Stewards first and then moved up to the next rung in the hierarchy, when they can't deal with it and so on until you get to the leadership. The leadership's role is general administration and dealing with national/political problems. Look at the recent Writers/actors strikes. The deal made to stop it helped the top 5% of union members, as well as the leadership, but is going to completely f*ck over everyone else. THIS would never happen with a European styled union as the grievances of the lowest rung would be dealt with first and then they deal with all the other rung's needs one at a time. It's also why so many US movies and shows are filmed in Europe. Dealing with the unions here is faster, easier and cheaper (in the long run) as our Union structure is about fixing the problem and not the leadership thinking "how much money can we make"

I'm actually not opposed to having a Latina play Snow White, but Zegler has proven herself to be toxic and divisive. Plus, Disney wants to completely reimagine the beloved classic story, removing all elements of romance and turning Snow White into a feminist girlboss. People don't want that. We want the adaptation of the classic tale we grew up with. The fairy tale with a romantic subplot. Changing the meaning of "who is the fairest of them all" is the thing that a lot of people are upset about.
And the double meaning of 'fair' won't work when translated to many other languages. Disney used to make a lot of money internationally, but they seem bent on losing all possible markets.
Making movies is just a hobby at Disney all that counts is selling platinum hypelightspeed fastpasses to the rich.

I can almost guarantee with almost 100% accuracy. I can practically predict this and if I’m wrong, I’ll admit it later, but for right now I am predicting that Rachel will continue to run her mouth to flap her jaws to say whatever the flop she wants to say, and even her most loyal water carriers are gonna have to either get with the program or just sit back and look like morons because we all know by now, she is by and yes, I said violin. No, I don’t care that. I use that word because it’s accurate.

I hope that Disney enjoys throwing more money at a $200 million diversity project that will be lucky to break even at the b.o. I can't imagine that anyone will want to see this dumpster fire.
Even if it does do OK in theaters, it'll be just like Solo. When you have to pay twice, or in this case, thrice for a movie, there's no chance the movie will make back anything. They may as well just stream it and take the lose as a write-off.
On the positive side, it’s going to take a huge box office for Disney to even break even on this, which is not likely.

In the past, and still true except for Disney, if in 'Hollywood' movie company bosses have a string of losing big films, those bosses lose their jobs and sometimes the company itself.
But Iger's got the board bought and paid for and it seems shareholders don't care. At this point the company is doing everything in its power to fail as no one is prepared to act in its best interests. They all deserve for it to tank and I think that's the best thing for it. Everything it owns could have a chance if sold to those who care about the IPs and their capability of making money if in the right hands.
I’m sure the point is the loss. It can be written off in taxes and they get to keep their hands on the IP rather than it going public domain. 🤷♂️

Why wasn't Gal Gadot cast as snow white?
She's a little old for a young princess role, but it's noticeable that she's still much more beautiful than Rachel Zegler, which kind of makes the main conceit of the story ("Who's the fairest of them all?") silly.
They should just ditch Rachel entirely and reshoot with an actress who respects the original.
Also leave the seven non-dwarf actors & actresses for maybe the first 15 minutes, explaining that their human form is an illusion they use when traveling out in public.
The rest of the movie can show their "true" dwarf form using CG.
It isn't the seven actors faults Disney sucks at making film nowadays.
Imagine getting a part in a huge budget Disney movie & telling your family & friends, only to have everything you filmed thrown away.
