I rarely played the races seriously. Usually just went to cruise mode and built up a bunch of speed to see the hilarious result of slamming into the traffic cars. For some reason if you hit one of the big uhauls or produce trucks at a high speed they would go flying 50 feet in the air but the smaller cars didn't go as far lol. The limitations of the games of the era made some of the collisions especially funny in this game. Also spent many times trying to get to the top of that one building where you could drive up to the top of the sloped roof if you built enough speed up and had a fast enough car. Then jump to the roof of the building across the street, and finally, land directly on top of the cars below. Great times with this one as well as the first. Unfortunately never was able to play 3 (didn't have an Xbox then, only PC). Will always remember this game 😆
Daaaaamn that's a beast! I had a no-name (Mitac, actually) with an AMD K6 at 233MHz, 40MB RAM and 8MB of shared Video RAM xD The only way to run it at playable fps (over 10-15) was at 640x480, minimum settings
@@orti1283 The game even came with the computer back then ^_^ was not a gaming pc or something but they just packed in lots of microsoft software and games. Also got Crimson Skies wich was really fun to play
The developers of this game went on to create the Midnight Club series, and those games follow a similar structure to Midtown Madness. Edit: 9:11 THAT FLYING COP CAR THO LMAO
I played Midtown Madness 1 and 2 a ton. The funny thing is I never did the races. I only played cruise mode. I would use the cheat to unlock all the vehicles then just mess around in cruise. I remember trying Midtown Madness 3 on Xbox and not liking it. I think the problem was by the time MM3 came out we had Grand Theft Auto III so just driving around in MM wasn't as exciting anymore.
One of my most played games of my childhood. I was still running windows 98.
I still run windows 98
So much nostalgia! I remember when the PC I had back then could barely even run the game, even at its lowest settings xD
I used to let this game load and run to the grocery store :D
Mine was that slow
5:21 that was one dedicated cop
pigs can fly!
@@TheySchlendrianCops are dogs, not pigs
One of the best driving games on pc, ever! Boy have I played this one a lot next to Need For Speed 3 and 4.
yes, NFS 2 porche was my favourite too.
The kind of nostalgia that made me cry. I used to play only this for months
Настоящая игра детства.. У меня до сих пор остались воспоминания о ней..

You could drop those trucks off the bridge if you hit them at the right angle, they would just disappear into the sea x.x
I find it cool that old games were not overloaded with details
I just drove the bus around using my mouse thinking I was the shit when I was 11
Childhood memories 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I could have sworn i saw pedestrians as a child
i think there were pedestrians in the first game
No they were in the second too, you can enable them

Had a Pentium 4 with 1.7ghz
256mb Sd-ram and a geforce 2 Mx-400 with 64mb memory xD

Fucking love the series; especially the 3rd one on the OG Xbox!!
Maybe it's good with midnight club series
one of my favorite games
Nostalgic!!
9:13 wth? Jajaja
I remember when these graphics were concidered good.
crazy to think gta 6 will run on the same game engine
Aww man I remember I tried playing midtown madness 2, and for some reason it wouldn’t work 😕 so I never got to play it sadly.
Holy nostalgia
