He may not be center spotlight anymore, but he clearly doesn't mind that. He's probably one of the happiest celebrities in the music industry and I think that is partially because he retained himself instead becoming the image the label envisioned for him. He's doing what he wants. Few will achieve that.

He may not be as popular anymore, but I would definitely not consider him a "one hit wonder".
He made a lot of quality music, quality production, nice signature voice. There's something "magical" about his sound. It produces an emotion that is lacking in other popular artists.
I saw him live at the House of Blues in Chicago, and it amazed me how every song in his set was remixed / adapted for a live setting. He had an amazing guitar player, a drummer, bass / background keyboard player, lead keyboard player that also did background vocals.
It was a nice journey, not just mindlessly playing a background instrumental track and singing on top, or doing a "dj set" like many EDM artists do. Very few Electronica artists can pull off a truly "live" event.
The guy is way underrated for his musicianship and creativity.

      Biblical explanation of the Gospel:
God doesn’t want anybody in hell, but you must understand why
we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go
there. He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but
rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam
sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we ALL have sinned. (Romans 3:23)
The law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23). Since we have all sinned, we all deserve hell.
Revelation 21:8 says that all liars will go to hell. Yes, even if you have lied once in your life, you are sentenced to hell - that's how
high God's standards are of moral perfection because God is holy and righteous, there is not one sin in Him.
For someone to be justified before holy God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ
      - for He lived a sinless life, died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day.
None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all
have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us
are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is
guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10). Our carnal mind is hostile to God; it does not submit
to God's moral law and it never will (Romans 8:7). We hate the thought of God for the same reason a criminal
hates a policeman - we know we have sinned against God and are guilty of it and we don't want to be damned.
No good works will ever save you. You can't earn salvation by good works, because God will judge us for our sin.
Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life and He died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16)
We aren’t saved by our good works, but only by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -
not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins
(past, present, future) to be forgiven only IF we repent and trust in Him.
This is how you can get saved from sin and hell - repent of your sins and trust in Jesus Christ. Get to know Him
      by reading God's Word.
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” (Luke 11:13)
''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15)
''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19)
Repentance is a turning away from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8).
Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin.
While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.
If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6)
(John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
If you have repented and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually.
When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance
until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14)
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36)
''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7)
If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will desire righteousnes -
to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God.
You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace
revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son.
''Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'' (2 Corinthians 5:17)
''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'' (Eph 2:10)
You will have a testimony - of what your life had been before and how has it changed now when you have surrendered it to Lord Jesus Christ.
As a declaration and affirmation of your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptised in water because He commanded us to do so.
In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.''
''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19)
''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41)
''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body,
but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21)
''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4)
''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God,
who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12)
Please get right with God and get to know Jesus Christ personally today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left!
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32)
Get to know Christ through God's Word - Bible. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you!
Jeremiah 29:13 - ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''

Owl City is an artist I genuinely like. I remember listening to him since 2009 and he's one of the only artists I still enjoy to this day. I don't really care about his popularity- I like him for his music.
While the ablum may not have done that well commercially, All Things Bright and Beautiful is the album I listen to the most. As an aspiring animator and film director I find his music so beautiful and inspiring and he's my ultimate go-to when I want to "think dreamy things".

candiigurl7893 You took the words right out of my mouth. It honestly never occured to me to even look at the popularity of his albums - of course, I knew Fireflies did well, but it never factored into my love for his work. For me, Adam's music was always a type of oasis, a place on the cusp of dreams and yet loosely rooted in reality that I could visit and thoroughly enjoy whenever I wanted. It was safe - homely. I just wish he knew the huge role he's played in my life, and how much his music has changed me...
(Oh, and I agree wholeheartedly. All Things Bright and Beautiful is in my opinion the peak of his work, although I must say I hold a special fondness for Ocean Eyes, as it was the first of his albums I ever heard or owned...)

Short answer: (I learned this in music career class) Record companies often have one or two big acts that make them tons of money. Like Beyoncé or Taylor Swift. With a small fraction of the money those bigger artists make, record companies loan this money to the smaller artists to pay for studio time and musicians (mixers, producers, background singers, etc.) They basically throw these small acts at the wall and see if they stick. The expectation is that these artists make back what they’ve been given and more. If they don’t, they’re dropped from the label. If they do, they’re given more money and the cycle continues unless they make it big. And often times, in the pop genre, unless they make it big, the plug can be pulled at anytime.

DakotaTheGreat No. this is 100% false. Owl City has always been exclusively Adam. You are probably thinking of Swimming With Dolphins, which was a band he had with Austin Tofte and was created around the same time as Owl City. You could also be thinking of Breanne Duren, who isn’t a part of the band but lends her vocals on many Owl City songs.
It is also possible that you have confused Owl City with Panic! At the Disco, which has a story similar to what you described.

Owl City is, and has been for almost six years, my go-to music when I'm depressed. It kind of removes all the stress and anger and lets my mind relax. I honestly don't think he's written a song I dislike? A few I'm not terribly fond of, but every single one of them has merits and I can't think of one I genuinely don't like or always skip. He's also one of only two artists I've actually bought music from since 2010. Fireflies, Cinematic, House Wren, Shine Your Way, and Back Home are probably my top five, with Vanilla Twilight and Peppermint Winter tied for sixth.

Oh fam, no need to be sorry. It's absolutely fine. I just thought I should clarify to you about this. 😃
So Adam basically writes lyrics, creates melodies (he's a multi instrumentalist btw), sings and produces his tracks all by himself. If you've seen his concerts, the additional members are the ones who only accompany him on the tours so that they could cover up playing the additional instruments while he performs and plays 1-2 instruments by himself like guitar or piano etc, they're not involved in his music production.
And like Owl City, he has if not hundreds then damn sure over 50 other musical projects, a few most famous of them being Sky Sailing, Port Blue, Swimming With Dolphins (a collaborative project which backed out from later on), Insect Airport, Color Therapy, etc. They're all phenomenal, just go through them once and you'll fall in love with them. And firstly I'd love to recommend you to listen to all of his songs from Sky Sailing. It's a freaking masterpiece, his best ever acoustic project yet, so emotional yet so meaningful. My most tracks from it are A Little Opera Goes A Long Way, Captains Of The Sky, Brielle, Alaska, I Live Alone, Flowers Of The Field, all of them. 😍
Also, he released a series of 11 differently themed scores in 2016 (1 score each month from February to December) based on some iconic historical events. They're all free to download on his website adamyoungscores.com. He's a magician at creating beautiful music. Do check them out if you're into film scores. You'll love them all.

I love the surreal feeling you get with his music, they give you a feeling as if you're getting whisked away into a wondrous place of his imagination. And I can only say that is true for a few artists out there, no matter how popular they are, it's a feeling they can never replicate.

Hes still got a die hard fanbase. I listened to firefly as a kid and then learned he had more songs and fell in love with them.

I actually like adams music more now than I did originally when it all came out. It’s a seasoned aged beauty and genre that really hasn’t even been repeated. The guy is masterful at creating imagery and a beautiful world of positive emotion with his music. I am delighted to be able to share his music with my Kids now that I’m older since it’s clean and catchy. In a way I feel there’s a youthful innocence to it that draws people in.

Adam Young is from the town i've lived in for 16 years now. It's really amazing that my brothers went to highschool with him!! I'm amazed, truly, that he's become so successful it makes me cry. His songs are heart-touching and i'm glad he's gone so far. Still listening and supporting him from small town Owatonna, Minnesota!!!

It’s sad when people only like Owl City for Fireflies. All of his songs are just as good!

I’m traveling over 300 miles to go see Owl City in less than a month, so even though Owl City may not be as mainstream as it once was, I love Adam and Owl City. Always have, probably always will. Even if Adam decides later to no longer create music, I’m just glad so many amazing songs exist because of him and millions of people like me will forever enjoy them and the positivity that surrounds them.

Dude you should try listening to Adam Young's other projects like Port Blue, Sky Sailing, etc. They're just as awesome as his main project(Owl City).

You know, it is really refreshing to see an artist like him. He spent some time in the spotlight and enjoyed it, but didn't let it go to his head. When he fell out of the spot light, it was not because of any scandal, but simply because of his own doing. He's still loved and still makes music and loves what he does, but he's not worried about keeping all eyes on him. His so, "My Everything," Is my favorite and I think it tells about exactly why he hasen't had any scandal around him. He's following Jesus and says is his song,
    "Hallelujah
    My almighty God divine
    Hallelujah
I am yours and you are mine"
He's a light in the dark. Thank God for people like him.
    God Bless

Lol. As a child I was sooo fascinated by his song titles. Strawberry avalanche, vanilla twilight, alligator sky, rainbow veins, saltwater room. 😍😍😍😍😍
