I am so glad I found your video, I've been looking to start offering dry pedicures, and could not decide between a tattoo/dental chair or the traditional pedicure chair. Thank you for explaining as well.
This was a very informative video, Hope! I’m currently trying to decide between the Healthy Air Hepa system or an efile with a vacuum. I would love to see a manicure video of you working on a client☺️
Thank you soooo much for sharing your set up. I have been looking at this chair for about a month now, and I think I am sold🙂 I love working in smaller areas, so I think you have a great set up!
Here's the link to the chair with all the measurements: www.dirsalonfurniture.com/medical-spa-equipment/medical-spa-bed-chair/medical-spa-chair You can use code 'health' at checkout to let them know I sent you 🙂 And here's my manicure table: www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/upper-square-kamen-sit-down-stand-up-ergonomic-computer-desk-standing-desk-w006427681.html
I don't have mobile services, so I can't really speak to that. Check out Not a Pod here on youtube. I believe she does home visits and may have a video of how she sets them up.
Can you share your certifications you have. This is something I would love to do more of instead of just nails. I have done MediNails Advanced Nail Technician.
Congrats on the ANT! I don't have many of the popular certifications out there. Most of my training came from completing a 2000 hour apprenticeship in lieu of going to nail school. During that time, I was trained on all things waterless, e-file pedicures!
@@quicknailz sorry for the late response! So in the state of Washington, they allow you to do an apprenticeship towards licensure instead of going to nail school. You'd have to check with your state to see if that is something available there, and then find a salon that offers an apprenticeship.
Hi, I love my client chair for all of the reasons you have stated. I do worry about weight load and stress on the mechanics when raising the chair. Do you ever worry about raising the chair?
Thanks for watching! I haven't had any issues with lifting clients in my chair. The weight capacity of this one is 400lbs, so I feel confident lifting most clients. For some, instead of lifting them all the way up, I'll lift up and tilt back, so they're not going as high.
Hi! I wanted to know if there was a reason you use a husky cabinet instead of a different storage cabinet? I've never seen it before! Thinking of getting one! 😁
The salon I rent at has some industrial vibes and my esthetician neighbor has this cabinet. I thought it would be a good storage solution! No real fancy reason other than that ☺
Question, does the clients heel hang over the end. Allow full access to the heels? Or do you have to hold the feet up to reach the underneath- accessing the heels. Hard to describe what I am saying.
I totally know what you mean! For most, yes. If the client is very short, say 5'1" or less, the heels do stay on the leg portion. It's not an issue for the majority of clients, though.
The manicure table? It's from Wayfair. Everything is linked in the description, but here it is: www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/upper-square-kamen-sit-down-stand-up-ergonomic-computer-desk-standing-desk-w006427681.html
That's a great question. Yes, I'm in the states. My professional license is technically as Manicurist, and I work within that scope. I'm legally allowed to work on hands up to the elbow and feet up to the knee, and I can use an electric file in my state. Each state has different laws. Foot Care Nurses also exist here, but they would be considered medical professionals, whereas I am not. It's always super interesting to hear about the different requirements and titles in other places!
@@HealthtoBeautyNails yes it's great to see how things are in different places. I guess if I was in the states I'd be a Foot care nurse and over in the UK you'd be a Pedicurist. Really enjoying your videos. I'm also one that loves Gehwol products, that's how your channel popped up, I was looking for a particular Gehwol product review 😉 x x
Sometimes with shorter clients, their feet don't fully hang off the leg piece. They will sometimes scoot down to make it easier or I'll just lift their leg a little bit to get under the heel. The very bottom of the leg piece is also removable which I know a lot of techs like and will completely take it off, so that would also solve the issue. For most clients, though, it's totally fine.
I know this type of equipment is definitely an investment. I was able to find my chair lightly used from a local tattoo shop, so definitely check out local marketplaces! And there are some other types of vacuum e-files on the market at lower price points, as well. Either way, if you're doing a lot of pedicures, having the right set up is vital and absolutely worth saving up for! ❤
Wish I had this 20 years ago and saved myself both shoulder , back and neck pain as well as using pain meds and surgeries
I’m sorry you’ve had pain. This is why I try to do my best to have an ergonomic setup!

Wow, thank you about talking about the e-file. I'm tempted trying e-file with built in suction. I have Salon Air HEPA filter.
It's a really nice file! It helps a ton to cut down on dust.
