"This brief miniature is inspired by the 4th century Catholic Prayer of the same name, which speaks of the immaculate conception of The Virgin Mary. Religion aside, I wanted to portray the contrasting notions of sin and salvation: The first section represents temptation and frivolity, while the second stands as a simple but sincere plea for redemption. The overall atmosphere of the slower section can be characterised by the serene prayer Tota pulchra es." - composer Koh Cheng Jin
