Only three choices are saber emiya and herc for whatever you need or want. If you're already competent as a fgo player they will just be an extra copy for damage and that's it. They really should have added Gilgamesh as he would have been worth it.
While I wouldn't ever recommend a new player skip a 5 star- it's the obvious choice- I will at least back him on herc being great. He was my starter GSR servant and he helped carry me through the game. Even though he's still at NP1, I still use him for challenging content thanks to that amazing bond ce. He's pulled victory from certain defeat for me so many times. Great SR servant.

Heracles was my first gold Servant not named Mash, and to this day he continues to be the savior of my team in any quest. He's well worth it if you need him! Somehow I don't have Artoria after 7 years, so this is an easy pick for me.
1. Arthuria, not just her skills and versatility you would glad to have her because how rare she is, even today. She is also the best scaling potency “Buster AoE” saber in the game. *If you have double Koyan buster team, with MLB scope, she can 3 turns loop with no need mystic CD skill. 2. Herc, he is one of the top 4* ST Berserker in the game. But as Zerk class, he fragile so keep this in mind. One big problem is, He need lot……of investment, team comp, and at least np2+ to work well in later game (tbh he need at least 3-4 to hit sweet spot) *He can carry for a long while, at the time goes on you may get better zerk along the way by then. 3. Emiya, even you really like him, he should “not” be pick by any reason. He is one of the most complicated serv to use for new player. bad scaling damage and np gain, lot of investment and team comp. *one good thing about him is, he is quite tanky compared to many 4* archer. but trust me, even np4 his np damage, still hit like a noodle, just look cool and gen lot of cri stars.
only sadly, her damage is absolute dogshit. Mine is lvl90, NP2, 10/10/10 (charge append maxed) and hoo boy does she hit like a wet noodle. Sadly, i don't have a scope, but i'm running a lvl 100 MLB Aerial drive on her, which should give her some decent oomph. Of course double-koya and Oberon. I don't know what i'm doing wrong with her, i sincerely don't. But pretty much every single of my other farmers completely and UTTERLY outclass her. Against Lancers she may barely edge out a narrow usability. I feels like summer Jeanne 2.0 and that's not a good feel. (For buster that'd be Ivan and Arjuna alter; for Arts it's Percival and for Quick its Dantes) What i'm doing: First round: use all her skills+obv. koya skills / second round: use charges from Koya, use charisma again / third round: swap in Oberon, hit the rest of the skills. If the second round is too tough, i use her Buster-skill starting second round, but it's always a tough question because she's either lacking damage in first or second round usually. And third, if the boss is too beefy.. she's generally lacking damage tbh. Like seriously, if i'm doing something wrong, feel free to correct me and teach me the way. I want this girl to be good, but so far she's only let me down. Heck, even my NP1 Ivan otudamages her against Lancers of all things occasionally. (Guess if they're chaotic or lawful)

You have better than I, i dont have Oberon. I my use case, mlb scope 2 koyan, with np2. 1st turn i just click use charisma+ busterx2 from 2 koyan. 2nd round (the annoying one) click her buster+ 30% np, 1 koyan 50%. 3rd round, 1 koyan 50% (all saber cd is on time), click all 3 saber skills. if you want more dmg you can switch to shakespare for more 40% buster buff or merlin if you have him. make sure to 1 buff cri star from koyan on saber. in case if they dont die from np alone, her buster cri atk is 200k+ per hit But most case, for average player, her np1 with double koyan, are more than enough get through basic farming need for lancer node, not all 90++ node dont get me wrong. I use her np1 for almost 4 yrs, got her np 2-3 just this year (she spook me hard, really) still at the end of the day, AoE NP is still use for farming or trash mob round.

Buster-farming got hyped up so strongly, maybe i had way too lofty hopes for Artoria and was doubly annoyed when she "let me down". That being said, even on Np 2, her damage is quite lackluster. But at the end it comes down to using your favorite Servants. There's no real right and wrong on how to play the game.
Artoria is the main 5* to spook me so i already have np6. Was looking forward to that free USO. But if we still get rare mana prisms still might pick her. Really wish they let us pick Gilgamesh though.

Herc has been clutch to me countless times in story mode, I usually put him as the 6th position and he gets even stronger when you get him to bond 10, only have him in NP1, but still gonna probably pick OG Saber, although that medusa CE though has really really good artwork 😆
I am conflicted honestly i could np2 my saber but from a collection standpoint i have never been spooked by herc or emiya so it is mad tempting to get one of them but also that beautiful saber CE is also very tempting do idk what i'll end up doing
believe me, there are gonna be plenty of people with NP5 Saber that will pick her regardless, simply because of that gorgeous CE art of hers. she's only NP2 for me but she's still permanent, unlike these special limited craft essences. that is why Medusa is my choice
I already have Saber (NP2), Emiya (NP5) and Heracles (NP3). I'll probably take another Heracles. Or maybe i'll get the 5 rare prism. That might be the most mileage i get out of this.

They should have thrown in Gilgamesh to spice thing up. Also, I don’t have that much faith that someone that has an NP5 Saibah wouldn’t have faker or Heracles. I’d still give you a 7/10 for trying to convince people to not pick Saibah though.

Gilgamesh wasn't one of the Seven True Servants summoned for the 5th Grail War, he's an Incarnate leftover from the 4th and Hassan of the Cursed Arm is only sometimes summoned while Kojiro is always summoned even if he is sort of a fake in this incarnation.
(If this copy is the 2nd copy. it will only count as summoned 1 copy in the progress) Does that mean if I get another artoria copy in the future, I can't NP2 her? The wording is so weird
Everyone that doesnt have an NP5 Artoria should pick her. It's that simple. Herc is a great servant, but a well developed account has little need for them and a new player can just reroll until they get a free Herc, since he's one of the possible 4-stars. Hell, i recommend rerolling until you have Herc and another bonus 4-star from the tutorial summon, this is a game you'll possibly be committing years of your life to, having a strong start really pays off long term. As for Herc helping clear the story as a new player, he is very helpful, but you can just as easily breeze through part 1 by just following a whale and borrowing an NP5 lvl 120 servant of your choice if you're in a rush. That said, I recommend just taking your time and enjoying the game with your own servants. You only get to play the story content once and going at it at your own pace and your own roster that you took the time and effort to invest in will make the experience that much more memorable for you.
I use Herc as a panic button still. He does his job incredibly well and i'd rather take NP4 Herc over NP3 Artoria to be honest. In the end, it's up to the player who they prefer. I just have.. sour sentiments towards Artoria, stemming from attempting my first buster-setups with Koya and Oberon. (Her damage was ludicrous... ly bad)

Why would you ever think NP2 Waver is worth it? For just an additional 10% defense down on NP? Even NP2 Tamamo has more value for the extra 500 heal. If the choice is between NP2 Saber and NP2 Waver, then Saber is the clear winner.

Artoria is my pick because she's the only 5 star, she's the only one I lack since all the others are at the very least at NP3 and she has a ton of rank up/interludes meaning more SQ. However I gotta say that part of the cast of FSN was done dirty as hell and we should have never arrived at this campaign and be faced with such a simple choice. Artoria is fine. Gilgamesh is also fine. Herakles is also fine I guess, although it's freaking Herakles, even if Berserker is his weakest class (I still have issues seeing his Berserker being weaker than his Assassin), he's the most famous hero in the world. Him being a 5 star wouldn't be weird at all even if it's his weakest class, but I guess it's fine. Hassan normally would be fine since he's not supposed to be some top tier, however I have serious issues in seeing Serenity or other assassins like Jekyll or Jing Ke as 3 stars and Cursed Arm below, so he should also be a 3 star. Kojiro even if summoned in the wrong class should still be a 3 star, like it's Musashi's rival, if Izo is a 3 star so should Kojiro since I'm fairly sure Kojiro is above Izo. Cu should be at least a 4 star, more likely a 5 star, the guy is the Irish Herk and Lancer is his stronger class alongside Berserker, that excuse they gave of having many versions that downgraded him is absurd when there's 1001 Artorias around that don't go any lower than 4 star. The disrespect for him is absurd, but it's ironic that his kit aged like fine wine. Medea is another that got disrespected like hell. She's presented as a powerful mage that with preparation can be a beast, she's not a slouch in combat, but even if she doesn't excel at it, she more than makes up for her support power. She should be at least a 4 star with strong support skills and NP. It's even more absurd that Medea lily is a 4 star when regular Medea should be far more powerful. Medusa is another case, it's freaking Medusa rocking freaking Pegasus, you have to be living under a rock to not know about them, two big names rolled into another one that should have been a 4 star. Emiya, well, even if he's my favorite of the bunch, the guy should a 3 star. Let's face it, the guy is a nobody next to the others, he should be what Cu is, a 3 star that brings a kit that lets him compete with bigger names because that's what he does in FSN.
I approv. if my herc was NP4 and I didn't have saber(or had her at NP1), I'd just pick up my first herc. good boi deserves it. Unfortunately, I have NP12 herc. somehow. soooooo. I dunno if Saber is the best, but she IS the only 5 star, which makes her much harder to get than the others through luck. If I skip her, it could be an eternity before I get her, so I'll grab her for free while I'm here.
Commericals should never delete a comment med texting wtf UA-cam you suck, and you tried it twice UA-cam. Leaning Saber, but both have merits. On a new Account Herc is an excellent investment. He's the best survival/Anchor character. You do have to get him to bond 10, but it's worth it. That said he's a 4 star so your more likely to get him, but I've been playing NA since launch, and my main has only gotten him through a 4 star ticket. Artoria is one of the best farmers in the Buster Saber AOE niche. She'll outclass most Sabers you get early on, and her only competition early on is likely to be Lily, Fergus, and Jason. Significantly weaker options.
Honestly none of them have any real use for hard farming or super cqs. Emiya is a mess with how low his damage can be If you don't have him np 5 and even then double vitch castoria drops damage or full buster off nodes can end that easy. Hercules is stall king but he's more so a good safety net so you don't need to use revive seals. Artoria is only the best of the options as she has some farming uses but the fsn servants aside cu haven't really aged so well. Plus they still haven't fixed medeas np to do damage for a 3 star caster who could be strong.
I really wish this promo would have at least gold equivalents of the low tier choices so you could save on grails for a favorite. As it is, it's just another saber promo (not judging the other 2 golds, but as good as they are you really need to go out of your way to make them work).
I am glad you did acknowledge that Emiya is, in fact, a strong Servant, but he needs to have investment put into him. Even if you don't Level 120+Append him like I do, he does still need either a good comp or the best Command Codes and CEs. That being said, I'm pretty sure he's still also a fan favorite up to now.
Yeah, I already have NP7 Level 120 Full Append Artoria on one account. I am getting Emiya again on the other account though, because it'll be more for a second Append even after I already have him Level 120 and have the Extra Attack Append. (I also have NP2 Artoria on that account already also). Also, I mean, it's the "Can you keep up with me?" moment.
I'm making Artoria NP4 with this. No other option needed for me. BTW people who have NP5 Artoria might still need another copy if they are taking her to 120 and maxing out her appends. Those extra 90 points enable that.

Short answer usually yes, long answer if you don't have Herakles then possibly no but Herakles requires a lot of time investment for a new player to bring him to bond 10 and make him truly shine with the tri-guts CE so Saber still might be better. The other consideration is coins for Saber, Herakles, and EMIYA
If you've already got a strong AOE Saber and don't have Herc, then sure, I'd personally recommend Herc for gameplay. However... no, he will not be an "easy mode to skip straight to the Lost Belts" for new players. Simply because Part 1 on its own isn't even enough to get him to Bond 10 for his Bond CE. Without the Bond CE, sure, he's a strong Servant, and he could BBB through the first 5 Singularities, but Camelot is a hard wall for BBB Zerkers who are not Bond CE Herc. Maybe the double BP bonus from this event and the teapots will help things, but I still don't see a new player's Herc being Bond 10 by Camelot. And saying that those with NP5 Saber shouldn't pick Saber is not quite correct. If they want to Level 120 Saber with full Appends for waifu reasons, then they need that 6th copy for the coins. Also, some people will pick the silver or bronze servants for those CEs that they can't get otherwise. And it's a valid choice.
I mean, yeah it’s pretty much just the Artoria selector. Unfortunately the original Fate cast were really used to pad out the early lineup of servants. One 5* and two 4*s. The rarity element is pretty big. 9 times out of 10 the answer here is Artoria. But Heracles is possible as the rare exception. Good to ask the question though.

Gilgamesh wasn't one of the Seven True Servants summoned for the 5th Grail War, he's an Incarnate leftover from the 4th and Hassan of the Cursed Arm is only sometimes summoned while Kojiro is always summoned even if he is sort of a fake in this incarnation.

As much as I love Saber, Herc is fantastic. Especially once you get his bond level 10 craft essence.
Bond 10 Herc is MVP on all those grail quests. Especially after you clear LB 5 Olympus and get the skill upgrade that allows stacking of the guts
easy saber pick, you'll have to wait until bond 10 for herc to matter, and frankly he really is not that useful anymore if you can get a decent roster

Everyone that doesnt have an NP5 Artoria should pick her. It's that simple.
Herc is a great servant, but a well developed account has little need for them and a new player can just reroll until they get a free Herc, since he's one of the possible 4-stars. Hell, i recommend rerolling until you have Herc and another bonus 4-star from the tutorial summon, this is a game you'll possibly be committing years of your life to, having a strong start really pays off long term.
As for Herc helping clear the story as a new player, he is very helpful, but you can just as easily breeze through part 1 by just following a whale and borrowing an NP5 lvl 120 servant of your choice if you're in a rush.
That said, I recommend just taking your time and enjoying the game with your own servants. You only get to play the story content once and going at it at your own pace and your own roster that you took the time and effort to invest in will make the experience that much more memorable for you.
I use Herc as a panic button still. He does his job incredibly well and i'd rather take NP4 Herc over NP3 Artoria to be honest.
In the end, it's up to the player who they prefer. I just have.. sour sentiments towards Artoria, stemming from attempting my first buster-setups with Koya and Oberon. (Her damage was ludicrous... ly bad)

Why would you ever think NP2 Waver is worth it? For just an additional 10% defense down on NP? Even NP2 Tamamo has more value for the extra 500 heal. If the choice is between NP2 Saber and NP2 Waver, then Saber is the clear winner.
Better off just getting a new servant instead of going for an NP2 from the free 5 star.

Artoria is my pick because she's the only 5 star, she's the only one I lack since all the others are at the very least at NP3 and she has a ton of rank up/interludes meaning more SQ.
However I gotta say that part of the cast of FSN was done dirty as hell and we should have never arrived at this campaign and be faced with such a simple choice.
Artoria is fine.
Gilgamesh is also fine.
Herakles is also fine I guess, although it's freaking Herakles, even if Berserker is his weakest class (I still have issues seeing his Berserker being weaker than his Assassin), he's the most famous hero in the world. Him being a 5 star wouldn't be weird at all even if it's his weakest class, but I guess it's fine.
Hassan normally would be fine since he's not supposed to be some top tier, however I have serious issues in seeing Serenity or other assassins like Jekyll or Jing Ke as 3 stars and Cursed Arm below, so he should also be a 3 star.
Kojiro even if summoned in the wrong class should still be a 3 star, like it's Musashi's rival, if Izo is a 3 star so should Kojiro since I'm fairly sure Kojiro is above Izo.
Cu should be at least a 4 star, more likely a 5 star, the guy is the Irish Herk and Lancer is his stronger class alongside Berserker, that excuse they gave of having many versions that downgraded him is absurd when there's 1001 Artorias around that don't go any lower than 4 star. The disrespect for him is absurd, but it's ironic that his kit aged like fine wine.
Medea is another that got disrespected like hell. She's presented as a powerful mage that with preparation can be a beast, she's not a slouch in combat, but even if she doesn't excel at it, she more than makes up for her support power. She should be at least a 4 star with strong support skills and NP. It's even more absurd that Medea lily is a 4 star when regular Medea should be far more powerful.
Medusa is another case, it's freaking Medusa rocking freaking Pegasus, you have to be living under a rock to not know about them, two big names rolled into another one that should have been a 4 star.
Emiya, well, even if he's my favorite of the bunch, the guy should a 3 star. Let's face it, the guy is a nobody next to the others, he should be what Cu is, a 3 star that brings a kit that lets him compete with bigger names because that's what he does in FSN.

Kinda funny they still have to add 3* and even a 1* in the selection pool, the reason is understandable, but still funny nonetheless.
I dunno if Saber is the best, but she IS the only 5 star, which makes her much harder to get than the others through luck. If I skip her, it could be an eternity before I get her, so I'll grab her for free while I'm here.

Leaning Saber, but both have merits.
On a new Account Herc is an excellent investment. He's the best survival/Anchor character. You do have to get him to bond 10, but it's worth it. That said he's a 4 star so your more likely to get him, but I've been playing NA since launch, and my main has only gotten him through a 4 star ticket.
Artoria is one of the best farmers in the Buster Saber AOE niche. She'll outclass most Sabers you get early on, and her only competition early on is likely to be Lily, Fergus, and Jason. Significantly weaker options.
Im actually gone for NP5 Emiya on JP.
But what if you've maxed out NP5 for everyone here 😂

Honestly none of them have any real use for hard farming or super cqs.
Emiya is a mess with how low his damage can be If you don't have him np 5 and even then double vitch castoria drops damage or full buster off nodes can end that easy.
Hercules is stall king but he's more so a good safety net so you don't need to use revive seals.
Artoria is only the best of the options as she has some farming uses but the fsn servants aside cu haven't really aged so well.
Plus they still haven't fixed medeas np to do damage for a 3 star caster who could be strong.
Seems like they got tired of all those cu solo videos people kept posting 😂
I really wish this promo would have at least gold equivalents of the low tier choices so you could save on grails for a favorite. As it is, it's just another saber promo (not judging the other 2 golds, but as good as they are you really need to go out of your way to make them work).

I am glad you did acknowledge that Emiya is, in fact, a strong Servant, but he needs to have investment put into him. Even if you don't Level 120+Append him like I do, he does still need either a good comp or the best Command Codes and CEs.
That being said, I'm pretty sure he's still also a fan favorite up to now.

Yeah, I already have NP7 Level 120 Full Append Artoria on one account.
I am getting Emiya again on the other account though, because it'll be more for a second Append even after I already have him Level 120 and have the Extra Attack Append. (I also have NP2 Artoria on that account already also). Also, I mean, it's the "Can you keep up with me?" moment.
I already have Herc and Emiya at np5 as well as their bond ce, meanwhile the Arturia I have is np 1, the choice is obvious for me

BTW people who have NP5 Artoria might still need another copy if they are taking her to 120 and maxing out her appends. Those extra 90 points enable that.

I'm picking Saber cause for 6 years, I still don't have her, I'm collecting Saber-face servants, I'm collecting the type-moon servants and I want her to have a reunion with my KoRT.
Short answer usually yes, long answer if you don't have Herakles then possibly no but Herakles requires a lot of time investment for a new player to bring him to bond 10 and make him truly shine with the tri-guts CE so Saber still might be better. The other consideration is coins for Saber, Herakles, and EMIYA

If you've already got a strong AOE Saber and don't have Herc, then sure, I'd personally recommend Herc for gameplay. However... no, he will not be an "easy mode to skip straight to the Lost Belts" for new players. Simply because Part 1 on its own isn't even enough to get him to Bond 10 for his Bond CE. Without the Bond CE, sure, he's a strong Servant, and he could BBB through the first 5 Singularities, but Camelot is a hard wall for BBB Zerkers who are not Bond CE Herc. Maybe the double BP bonus from this event and the teapots will help things, but I still don't see a new player's Herc being Bond 10 by Camelot.
And saying that those with NP5 Saber shouldn't pick Saber is not quite correct. If they want to Level 120 Saber with full Appends for waifu reasons, then they need that 6th copy for the coins.
Also, some people will pick the silver or bronze servants for those CEs that they can't get otherwise. And it's a valid choice.
I mean, yeah it’s pretty much just the Artoria selector. Unfortunately the original Fate cast were really used to pad out the early lineup of servants. One 5* and two 4*s. The rarity element is pretty big.
9 times out of 10 the answer here is Artoria. But Heracles is possible as the rare exception.
