You know... L. Frank Baum already wrote the story of Dorothy's return to Oz, and it actually included some new characters than just the people she met on her first trip, including the real ruler of Oz, Princess Ozma.
@@MaskedMan66 Couldn't tell you. They were well known in the community for doing 'sequel' children's shows that were original content but based on known properties. Probably something to do with licensing. It was a long time ago.
