Sturdy Endeavor Shedinja is a pretty funny strat in Hackmons. I think this guy thought Sturdy worked like Focus Sash? I have no clue why he was talking like he knew the mechanics when he clearly didn't LOL.

@@croakie307 i don't really play hackmons, but i wanted to make the fastest pokemon in existence, so in balanced hackmons, i made a regileki with focus sash, sandstorm, and sand rush, and for moves i gave it agility, bolt beak, flame charge, and fishious rend. I named it light speed.
I'm concerned not because of Sturdy Shedinja is still allowed, but because somehow Sheer Cold was used in hackmons
It's pure hackmons so there's no limits or anything, in balanced hackmons they ban anything like No Guard Sheer Cold.

Sturdy Shedinja is still allowed only because it's so easy to counter. All you need is a will-o-wisp user and any Sturdinjas are done for.

He didn't understand that endeavor brings the target down to the hp the user has, and shedinja has only 1hp, ao it would always bring his pokemon down to 1hp-

he was probably looking at the percentages, as shedinjas hp is always 100% or 0%. he thought that because shedinja was 100%, endeavour wouldn't do anything. that isnt how it works, tho.

@@miltank4384 because most of the time that’s how it plays out. Pokémon has full health > gets one shot > sturdy > Pokémon has one health > Pokémon doesn’t have full health > sturdy can’t activate.

@@Pixel3572, Yeah, so, use a status move. Anything that causes residual damage will do just fine. Toxic is the most common. Sandstorm, leech seed, they are all viable options. Sturdy Shedninja is tough, but not impossible.
For those curious how you beat shedinja in Hackmons, there are many ways. Rough skin/rocky helmet, any form of residual damage like sand or status or leech seed, hazards, moves like whirlpool or magma storm, mold breaker (especially potent if combined with pursuit), probably some more that I'm forgetting. Shedinja can safeguard against one of these methods of countering it via it's item, but only one, and some of them are foolproof. Most commonly shedinja runs HDB in gen 8, protective pads in gen 7, and safety goggles or lum berry in gen 6, but it can change items to help adapt to metagame trends.

@@santiagovieira385 fairy is not super effective against Girafferig. Its a normal/psychic type. Normal is weak to fighting but psychic resists, so Wonder Guard activates. Psychic is weak to ghost, bug and dark, but Normal is immune to ghost. So the only 2 weaknesses are indeed Bug and Dark

@@yourself2.08 those moves don't exist yet because this is Gen 6 Pure Hackmons. Even then, Mold Breaker would be better because you ignore Sturdy Shedinja + all the shitty Wonder Guard sets floating around. Being locked into one move (that only has 8 PP) compared to being able to ignore abilities with all your moves is just less optimal honestly.

Will say depending on when they last saw it used that isn't a terrible line of thinking, albeit out dated. It was like that in gen 4. Changed to what it is now in gen 5

Until any DoT effect shows up. Even despite that, it remains funny to watch. Being on the receiving end? Probably not so much.
@@clem-lv2rw one time i went on gen 7 balanced hackmons with just one sturdy shedinja. my opponent probably didn’t have any status moves and forfeited after one pokemon was down.
I’m still new to competitive battling but I do know how sturdy works (normally on like graveler or something) and I do know Shedinja normally has wonder guard but I don’t understand how it did no damage at all in the video. Or how when he switches girafarig it keeps the substitute and stat boosts
Shedinja only has 1 HP, so it will be in full health no matter what.

Simple moves like will-o-whisp or toxic could have solved the issue, but some players think that pokemon is only about damaging moves and don't include a single status move in any of their pokémons in their teams

Tbf, if you're playing the mainline games, you don't need anything other than damaging moves.
So I get where they're coming from
@@supergolfgod1416 you can use a faster pokémon and use taunt before the opponent can setup safeguard. You can even use stealth rock just in case shedinja doesn't have a HeavyDutyBoots. Also, Tyranitar with Sand stream can bypass safeguard.
Imagine going into Hackmons without a plan to kill sturdy Shedinja

For those who don't know, here us how you beat this strat
1. Sandstorm/blizzards (any rock or ice type move will work, just dynamax)
2. Toxic/burn
3. Taunt them until they struggle
4. Make sure to use spikes or stealth rock (if they have more or switch it out)

I love the fact nobody realize that you need to use a multi hit move on shedinja. it has sturdy, not wonderguard anymore so any multi move will do. but not alot of people have a multi hitting move in theyre arsenal
I only played through Gen 4 but love these vids. Can someone explain this to me. I thought Sturdy was an ability and so was Wonder Guard for shedinja. Can you have two? I get how Endeavor works but then 1. Why did he need to Shell Smash at the beginning and 2. How did shedinja not die to Pinsir. I feel like if sturdy stays active that shedinja can literally never die.
This battle was in pure hackmons, so you can give any ability and moves to shedinja. You cannot have 2 abilities at once, the shedinja in the video only had sturdy. The way sturdy works from gen 5 onwards is that if the bearer is at full HP and takes a hit that would K.O them, it survives on 1 HP it also grants immunity to OHKO moves like you see shedinja immune to sheer cold in the video. Due to the fact that shedninja's max HP is one and lives on 1 HP from sturdy, it can take any hit. He used shell smash at the beginning simply to raise stats so shedinja can hit harder and be faster, it wasn't really necessary due to endeavour + extreme speed. If Sturdy stays active shedinja can still die from passive damage, meaning damage from things like weather, status, Leech seed, confusion etc, and a Pokemon with the ability Mold breaker, teravolt or turboblaze can bypass sturdy and kill shedinja because those abilities' effect is to bypass other abilities when dealing damage.

He thinks that it works like this:
Shedninja: 100%
Endeavor would put my mons at 100% HP
How it actually works:
Shedninja: 1 HP
Endeavor puts his mons at 1 HP
Yeah it's because showdown displays HP in percentages and 1 HP is 100% for shedinja because that's its max HP. The opponent may have played few or no actual Pokemon games where you see the HP as numbers, and the opponent's HP is just a bar with no number.
Imagine playing hackmons and complaining about hax..

Mold Breaker, Turboblaze, Teravolt, Neutralizing Gas, Mummy, Wandering Spirit, Innards Out, Aftermath, Rough Skin, Rocky Helmet, Moves That Ignore Abilities (E.g. Moongeist Beam, Photon Geyser and many more), Gastro Acid, Skill Swap, Entrainment, Simple Beam, Worry Seed, Leech Seed, Core Enforcer, Destiny Bond, Flame Burst (if used in doubles against ally), Poison, Burn, Hail, Sandstorm, Confusion, Entry Hazards + Moves That Switch the Target Out (E.g. Roar, Whirlwind, Dragon Tail) and Binding moves (E.g Fire Spin, Whirlpool and many more) ignore or remove Sturdy making Shedinja USELESS.

I use shedinja for endeavour and have gastro acid to stop him from being mold broken. But the most op pokemon for me is contrary regigigas, he has moves like v create, superpower, dragon accent and gastro acid to stop wonder guard pokemon and wonder guard electrode, as he is the fastest electric type in gen 6 therefore he usually gets a gastro acid off, then he has topsy-turvy to prevent baton passes, rapid spin for shedinja and toxic to stop stall

One does not simply try hackmons without knowing about sturdinja, the most basic hackmon of them all.
