Thank you! Just started the new generator to be sure my mom has her O2 when we lose power here in NE Ohio. This video was great help. Sure appreciate your time and post. Be well.
I’m planning on getting me the champion gen but I am going to get the 2500 watts so I make sure it can run my 5000 btu a/c in my camper if I need it. But I am getting the dual fuel champion. I have a propane outlet on the back of my camper so run a line to generator.
I could only get 300 ml (0.3 qts) of engine oil in this unit. Manual says 400 ml. Unit perfect level, oil up to the last two threads. After the first 5 hours of little to no load operation, drained the oil and there was a lot of metal glitters. Going to do another oil change in 5 hours, even though the manual says second oil change at 50 hours, I think it's way too much with this much metal glitter in the oil.
Great video !!I just got one and have a question do you have let it run 5 hours before using or can you use it during the 5 hours break in period ? thanks
You could definitely use it, I don't think I would run it higher than 50-60% of its Watt output, I had it run for that 5hr period and plugged in various thinks to vary the load on it. I wouldn't run it all out but some load wouldn't be harmful
I have this exact generator, and it will run my roof top a/c on the camper. The trick is to start a/c on fan Only until generator catches up. Then low cool and so on.
I think someone else had commented that before or I saw that in someone else’s video… the in rush amps of the compressor on our camper still trips the breaker! But I have a device that parallels two of these together and that runs it great!
Great Video, good coverage. I love my Champion 2000 watt duel fuel inverter generator! I personally would use a better quality of synthetic engine oil, then to trust Walmart brand oil, if that's what you meant? I spent about 8.00 on a quart of Honda 10w30 oil, I feel it's the best! Running it for the 100 hours it's recommend for the generator you should use the best oil, that's a long time for a oil change.
@@danray9744 better than a cheap oil, and better quality. Just look at Honda generators, they last a long time. There is nothing wrong with Rotella oil, but you should go by the manufacturer with the weight.
@@mrbrad41471 I don't use full synthetic oil for any older engines there seals will harden up over time and leak oil. As a mechanic I have seen valves get noisier with the use of synthetic. I prefer a blend of synthetic oil and regular oil, it doesn't seem to have any issues. Harder to find though. If you have a engine made for it I guess it will be ok.
@@mrspin3315 Thanks for the advice! I will go to Lowes or Home Depo and get the Honda 10w30 oil. I just purchased this generator and haven't broken in yet. I will use the supplied oil. After breakin is complete i will change with honda oil.
The reason it safe for Electronics it has a AVR Circuit that Keeps the Voltage Stable , its not Dirty Electric that Harms electronics its Voltage Spikes & Surges From that Generators can cause , Any Good Quality Generator NON Inverter with a AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator ) is Safe for electronics , Never Use A Generator That uses a Capacitor to Control the Voltage they can Surge and Spike when loaded and unloaded .
@@danray9744 home depot's website claims it has avr....champions webpage says the opposite. I emailed champion and they said it should be safe anyways for reasons i dont exactly remember. It doesn't matter. I found out i can run a pc backup from APC that has AVR built in. Everything is good.....

Great video. I just picked 1 up from Tractor Supply for $419.00. You answered all the questions I had so thanks.
Thank you so much for this video! I was able to start our generator on my own without my husband! Yay!
I’m so happy to hear that!!
Very nice video ,,,Well explained Thank you for posting video.....Take care buddy..

Thanks for the video I just bought the same generator and want to set it up right. 👍
Hope U went for the free Champion T-shirt that I saw in the pack. It is a nice T-shirt. Love my Champion 2000 that I use for power outages.
Great video. Saved me a lot of time

Honda Oil is Nothing Special Just Overpriced , SHELL ROTELLA 10w30 in warmer weather HD SAE30 is the BEST to use

What about Mobile 1 Full Synthetic 5W30 oil??

Is the reason its safe for electronics because it produces pure sine wave alternating current? Does it produce pure sine or stepped ac current?
