Largely informative and entertaining lecture. I don't quite understand though why the adds of the two luxury brands given as examples are so terribly and distastefully kitch. Obviously, the music is dramatic and emotive but the visual content is very unimaginative and not original in its very abundant dreamy imagery and all. Furthermore, using wild animals for adds is unethical.
It seems like most luxury brand are kitch by design, showing of your wealth or luxury is not done by old money. It is new money or poor people who want to experience, feel or dream to be rich.
