  • GILBERT, Arizona -- Newly released body camera shows the distraught father of 7-year-old JJ Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan months before their disappearance.
Charles Vallow, the former husband of Lori Vallow Daybell called the Gilbert Arizona Police Department in January 2019 after being unable to speak to his two kids for a couple of days. It's when police arrived that Charles told an officer about his wife's concerning beliefs.
"She's not here," Charles said in the video. "She lost her reality."
Charles told officers Lori considered herself a translated being and a God who spoke with an ancient prophet and Jesus daily. He said her strange beliefs were several years in the making but got increasingly worse.
"I love her to death, this is killing me officer," Charles said.
Even more concerning to Charles was Lori told him Nick Schneider took over his body and she would have to allegedly kill him. Charles said Lori told him "I can murder you now with my powers."
Charles told officers he called them fearing not only his safety but the safety of JJ and Tylee. He said earlier that day while on a business trip in Houston Texas Lori called him, telling him to take the kids.
When he landed at the airport Charles found his truck gone and Lori said she threw out all of his clothes. She also allegedly emptied their joint bank account that day. With the truck were also his keys to get into their home.
Body camera footage shows Charles, as well as officers, kicking in the door of the home. The video near and inside the home was blurred by police.
When the police came they had an order to have Lori picked up by officers for a mental health exam. They said typically they don't serve those orders during the night time and only came to check on the kids.
"The only reason why we're here is some of the statements that you made towards our dispatcher, that you provided to them ... he (an officer) made the discussion to conduct the welfare check to make sure your children are safe," an officer said.
Without any crime being committed police left the home.
The next morning Lori visited with officers to file a report against Charles Vallow. She then checked herself in for the mental health exam and was medically cleared.
Months later Lori's brother Alex Cox shot and killed Charles at a home in Chandler Arizona on July 11, 2019. By the end of September 2019, JJ and Tylee disappeared.

this is the problem with cops well one of the problems, they don't listen or take things seriously.Women who are abused are a joke to them they show up and act like buddies with the abuser and turn on the woman, and when children are in danger and you tell them over and over they don't do anything. They act as if it's a joke or waste of there time. Those children and other children could have been saved if cops, cps, and the justice system cared or made it a priority.A change is way overdue.

Pen or Sword which is greater: Never depend on anyone else to save you! You are so right and that goes for doctors, policeman, and others..... like you said be Proactive and save yourself if you can.
Charles had too many people going against him for monastery purposes, the police should have known right away that she was nuts from what Charles told them she said! 🙀🥺

I'm speechless at how no one listened to Charles. He was very respectful n articulate to the officer. Im crying at knowing how this has played out till this time! God bless you Charles. May your spirit be at peace n may you guide the authorities to find your children at whatever status they are... Alive or dead so Lori can be held responsible for the evil she has caused.

Exactly! Police should have better training or take IQ tests, if they get lower than 105 they're designated parking duty. Let intelligent and intuitive police officers handle real issues/crimes..... I do understand hindsight but even so, they failed Charles Vallow and JJ & Tylee :(

Taxpayers are paying for a royal mess. ALL police systems in the nation need to be privatized - a voluntary charitable system of payment - this way taxpayers are not paying to be neglected, beaten, beaten to death, or needlessly shot, not to mention all the bogus traffic tickets. You can bet if you take the police services off the taxpayer welfare system - they would have to work in a way to serve - and a lot of the bully factor and badass attitudes would soon go away.
They should thoroughly investigate any threat to kill anyone.

What pisses me off is he is telling Chandler police that he is totally freaked out about his wife's behavior. They're taking his words like a grain of salt and nothing to worry about. Because Charles is so soft-spoken and stable they are acting like it's no big deal, nothing to become alarmed about. Like cleaning out his business bank account, canceling his flight, and taking his vehicle, locking him out of the house and no one is nowhere to be found. And they're just having Charles walking around the house trying to get in. it should be the police that are trying to get him in and checking all the doors and windows. The freak. Part is this will be where Charles ends up being murdered. And the Chandler Police Department racked it up as self-defense because that is what Laurie's brother told them. The cops are not being supportive and are so LAZY. GO GET SOME DOUGHNUTS 🍩 AND A NICE EXPENSIVE HOT COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!☕️

That’s the typical behavior of power hungry narcissist cops. They’re in control, they have power over everyone and everything and they get off on it! They hear stories from druggies and lunatics all day every day and it has to be enough to drive them crazy. At some point they become hardened and the lowlife citizens are nothing more than a pain in their rear.

Ur absolutely right. However I will say that I was in a very similar situation. Begged officers to help, but bc there was no proof & only "he said/ she said", there was nothing they could do. It sucked so badly, but I understood why they couldn't do anything without proof. It took me having to fight for my life, then my ex admitting to the judge, what he did, b4 we finally were granted our lifelong injunction. After that was in place, the police would immediately respond & the last few times, went out of their way, to ensure my babies & I were safe, bc they knew the injunction was in place. When my ex told them on the phone that they couldn't stop him from killing us, they intervened the best they could. It's a crappy situation all around, & I def had my fair share of encounters with cops that simply dismissed me, but once the injunction was in place, they handled everything way differently.
It's very easy to look at things, with the advantage of hindsight always being 20/20, but bc there's so many men & women that cry wolf, simply to punish their partner / ex, the cops have to make decisions about what they know they can do, vs what they can't, bc they've got to make sure they don't infringe on somebody's rights, unless they're certain a crime has been committed, or they risk law suits🙁

Ya, $35k buys a lot of lip gloss! From information supplied, by all appearances Lori plays the victim role, everyone rushes to her aid. Summer asked Alex to go over to the house because Charles might get aggressive. Alex, tazed husband #3, kills #4 Charles. Tylee is protective for Lori, Melanie is protective of Lori. Lori's mother is protective of Lori. Now Chad is protecting Lori aka enablers !!. The pattern repeats itself in Melanie !!!
Given facts presented, ( Joe Ryan, Charles Vallow, Tammy, Tylee, JJ, & yes even the police officers) … Alex, Chad, Brandon, Ian, & JJ's grandparents, and even the other offspring of ALL of them, were and are victims of Lori's! I do not fault the cops the night Charles was talking to them, because their hands are tied, they are not legal counsul. Now I do fault the officers the day of the shooting however! If that was any one of the rest of us, we would have been in the back of the squad car! Now we know why Lori had to book out of AZ for fear of her mental exam.

Is Gilbert pd the ones who had a chat with Lori (and Melanie and Tylee..) to "mentally evaluate" her..?
(That dumbass officer sounded like the exact one who became Alex Cox's buddy after he shot Charles 4 times in the chest "in self defense". And I thought THAT was Chandler pd...I'm confused.)
I know Gilbert and Chandler are involved. Doesn't matter, I suppose. They both failed the victims.

@@davidohara7669 not sure about that but I can guarantee you their is something with us on this world that’s something other than human not gonna say if it’s a spirit or what because I’m not sure it could be some kind of alien or maybe humans that have advanced cloaking technology but one day I was asleep in my bed and I woke up abruptly and opened my eyes and when I did their was a shadow standing next to my bed and it was leaning over my bed looking down at me it resembled an old lady with a black cloak on I couldn’t see the face because it was shadowy but the arms looked like an elderly woman’s arms. Anyways as I opened my eyes and saw this thing looking at me I instantly reacted and swung my arm to hit whatever it was in the face and it grabbed my arm as I swung it and it held my arm but not with physical flesh but more with will power energy that stopped my muscles from being able to flex at full capacity as if it was draining the energy from my arm although all that happend within about 3 secs and then it let go of my arm and flew out of my room and down the hall as fast as a shadow flees from the light you can believe me or not but the next time you get an Erie feeling that something is watching you that’s because is it you just can’t see it because whatever it is doesn’t want you to see it I only saw it by accident I was having some strange dreams also so whatever it is it affects how we dream and tries to manipulate our lives through our dreams.

@@maryharger2388 Well, we can rule out aliens because of the lack of an anal probe left behind. Also we can rule out delusion, hallucination, dreaming and trickery because obviously you, unlike the rest of us, are not susceptible to any of these things. If only you had captured some of it in a bottle, then we could just call Ghost Busters. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Thankfully you have that in your bottle.
