So glad you included Martha, she gets overlooked so often and she was a great companion! Her goodbye was heartbreaking but I was also very proud of her.
donna's departure was just gut wrenching when you realise that she finally felt important and useful but instead those memories were tucked away and it meant her death if she tried to access it. so tragic.
And then he goes back with a lotto ticket for her, but can't give it to her, so he gives it to her grandad, who starts crying. That scene gets me in the feels every time. Also when he realises it's the grandad who is the reason he dies, and gets angry and guilty at the same time.
Tegan, after the Daleks slaughter nearly everyone else in the story. "When I became a stewardess, my Aunt Vanessa said ''If you don't enjoy it, give it up.' It stopped being fun, Doctor." Words to live by.
The one that did made me cry was Amy and Rory’s exit, when Amy got Killed By the Weeping Angel I was floods of tears, one of the best Companion departures of all time in my opinion 🤧😭
One of the saddest goodbyes was when the Doctor (Tennent) visits Donna's wedding and wilf see him and waves goodbye, the acting is absolutely top notch and so sad...😢😢
Jamie and Zoe. Zoe went back to the Wheel In Space, and relative safety, but Jamie... Dear god. Dropped off back into the middle of the horrifying hell that was the battle of Culloden.
I fell out of watching Dr Who during the Capaldi years, life got in the way, but when I finally got round to watching his last series, while only in it for a series, Bill Potts' ending I felt was so gut wrenching. All of these are, but her ending is up there with Amy and Rory's on the emotional level.
Martha's was my favourite from NuWho. Not the most emotional but I appreciate that she chose to leave the Doctor as opposed to the others. If only they'd have dropped the unrequited love aspect of it all.
Sarah Jane technically said goodbye to the doctor 7 times 1) hand of fear 2) the five doctors (although not seen) 3)school reunion 4)journeys end 5)wedding of Sarah Jane smith (SJA) 6) end of time 7) death of the doctor Overall I’d say the school reunion departure was my favourite as it had the true emotion from both characters after all those years they were able to say goodbye to each other properly. Rest easy lis. We never forgot you
Never liked Adric (don't think many fans did!), but his death was actually really sad especially him holding his dead brother's belt. Shame Tegan's departure wasn't included as I think it was very emotional.
Even though she wasn’t a companion I still feel for the 10th when he lost madame de pompadour, the way he loved her and went to get her set for adventures…only to come back to her widow and a letter as he watched her funeral coach leave the chalais 😔 it made me so sad for him as he never got to even say a goodbye 😔
1. Rose Tyler- her first departure is the most beautiful and emotional scene in all of Doctor who 2. Susan- that speech is iconic and so is Susan 3. Martha- doing the hardest thing and walking away from the man she loves 4. Amy pond & rory- perfect send off, so emotional 5. Sarah Jane first time- sad but left the door open 6. Jo grant- Bitter sweet departure 7. Tegan- one of the only companions to walk away 8. Donna noble- emotionally sad, and powerful 9. Bill- shame she died so early on to her run but it was perfect in the end 10. Clara- perfect conclusion
My ranking of Departures: 1. Clara's Death 2. Rivers Departure 3. Bill's & nardole Departure 4. Amy & rory departure 5. Martha Departure 6. Ryan & graham departure 7. Donna Departure 8. Rose Departure
Mel leaving should be included. At the time, it was the first proper goodbye scene since Sarah Jane. It’s a great speech. “Funny old business, Time.” Think about me when you’re living your life one day after another…his days like crazy paving.”
5:43 this hear suggests the angel bid a hasty retreat the moment River and The Doctor looked down at the grave, realizing exactly whose friends it just killed by sending them into the past and that it had better not stay, lest it wish to feel The Doctor's wrath.
Adric is one of the most underrated companions in DW, and his death was horribly tragic and emotional; I still cannot watch that scene without crying. I know a lot of people didn't like him at the time, however I honestly feel like he was a character with a lot of potential. Plus given the fact that Adric was 15 when he died makes it even more gut-wrenching.
Not strictly a farewell scene but it's a poignant tribute to Nicholas Courtney when Matt Smith rings his retirement home to be informed the Brigadeer has passed away. A loving tribute to a great actor.
I watched sarah jane adventures before doctor who and I didn't even know that they were connected and then I watched some present doctor who and I just loved the show it is number 1 in the world for me . Elizabeth slave's death still upsets me to this day
Ok so something hardly anyone talks about, why do you never see the older versions of the cybermen in the newer episodes? It seems like they would run into one of the older versions, right?
For me Donna's was the worst. She not only leaves but she has to forget everything and between David Tennant and Bernard Cribbins make it a truely heartbreaking ending
Martha should be so much higher, unlike Rose she wasn't smart or useful cause she was the Dr's companions but because she was practically a Dr too. Not to mention she had a great personality and felt the most human of the companions and she was so compete as a character.
@@mrdr0161 1 Donna 2/ Amy and Rory 3/ Rose 4/ Martha the rest was ok and to put Jo in the list OMG she was a trouble seeker I was glad when she left I know it was just how it was writers wrote her but still even Clara she over stayed and over shadowed the doctor so I had no problem when she left
RiverSong is not a companion. Zoe and Jamie far too low Sarah Jane departure was not that memorable. Great companion, but the departure was nothing special where is Romana at Warrior Gate, where she defies the Time Lords by not coming back
Here's something I never understood. Since Donna is half Timelord, she should be able to regenerate, at least a few times. So, even with her memory locked away, did that ever still happen? I always felt the old lady Timelord from The End of Time could've been Donna from the future, but it's never really been explained

Amy's and Rory's end always makes me cry. 'Bout did here too if they went even a second longer with it. It's the music, I swear it is.
It was hard to say 'goodbye' to Rose because she was the first companion to us who began to watch by the new era.
Tegan, after the Daleks slaughter nearly everyone else in the story. "When I became a stewardess, my Aunt Vanessa said ''If you don't enjoy it, give it up.' It stopped being fun, Doctor." Words to live by.

- Donna Noble deserved number 1.
- River should've been higher.
- Where's my girl Bill at?
Don't @ me.
One of the saddest goodbyes was when the Doctor (Tennent) visits Donna's wedding and wilf see him and waves goodbye, the acting is absolutely top notch and so sad...😢😢
Rose and bills made me cry. But the worst exit for a character for me even tho he’s not a companion was Danny pink. Makes me ball every single time
The title alone made me cry. Rory & Amy's departure should have been higher on the list. The rest is spot on
Jamie and Zoe. Zoe went back to the Wheel In Space, and relative safety, but Jamie... Dear god. Dropped off back into the middle of the horrifying hell that was the battle of Culloden.
Me: ''Donna's departure breaks my hearts.''
Other: ''After so many years?''
Me: ''Always.''
Same!
Martha is underrated as hell. So glad she was included.
I fell out of watching Dr Who during the Capaldi years, life got in the way, but when I finally got round to watching his last series, while only in it for a series, Bill Potts' ending I felt was so gut wrenching. THANK YOU for including Adric.
Where are Ian and Barbara ?
Barbara and ian's departure was quite sweet. Peri's was pretty dramatic too
It was dramatic and shocking but then they ruined it by saying it was all a lie and it never happened. They should have left it as it was.
@@matriculus2 yeh that did spoil it, especially adding that she married brian blessed’s character and became a queen or some sht, ridiculous lol

Adric was a good kid. He deserved better.
Astrid was a heroine.
Donna Noble deserved number 1. Don’t even start with me.
I absolutely agree!
I will start! Rose deserves no1 no question asked
Y'all are wrong. Tegan should've been number 1.
Never liked Adric (don't think many fans did!), but his death was actually really sad especially him holding his dead brother's belt. Shame Tegan's departure wasn't included as I think it was very emotional.

True. That episode always breaks my heart too.
As a Doctor Who fan, i love your top ten Doctor who content
Same with me.
Donna's was the saddest

Roses departure is way to dramatic and overrated
You’ve never seen classic who
modern era only I see, you have 26 years and 7 doctors to catch up on, its nice to see watch mojo acknowledging classic who, it rarely does!!
Mel leaving should be included. At the time, it was the first proper goodbye scene since Sarah Jane. It’s a great speech. “Funny old business, Time.” Think about me when you’re living your life one day after another…his days like crazy paving.”

Still missing Amy and Rory... 😥
Come along Ponds. Amy and Rory are always going to be the toughest for me

I really hope these Doctor Who themed top 10s keep coming, they are so entertaining to watch and fantastic.
jenna coleman as clara oswald is for me the best
Same!
R.I.P Elisabeth Sladen.
TOP 10 SARAH JANE ADVENTURES EPISODES!
The goodbye from the 10th doctor and Sarah Jane in the wedding of Sarah Jane smith part 2 should have been number one
'Til now I can't get through Donna's departure.
I was so happy to bid rid of the mindless impatient and bossy bore
I watched sarah jane adventures before doctor who and I didn't even know that they were connected and then I watched some present doctor who and I just loved the show it is number 1 in the world for me . Elizabeth slave's death still upsets me to this day
I’m not crying..I’m not crying….
Saddest is a toss up with rose Donna and river.
Ok so something hardly anyone talks about, why do you never see the older versions of the cybermen in the newer episodes? It seems like they would run into one of the older versions, right?
My favourite companions were Martha, Sarah Jane and Donna Noble
No no no no no! There is no more heart breaking departure than Donna Noble. Death is finite, Donna’s end was a tragedy
David Tentant is the best doctor there is.
Agreed!
It's Tennant but I agree :)
No, Sylvester McCoy is
@@jellybabiesarecool4657 Unfortunately I never got the chance to watch any of classic who 😥
No, definitely Hartnell
Sarah Jane Smith, Rose, Donna, Clara and Bills departures hit hard
Martha didn't "help" the Doctor to save Earth. She saved Earth.
Rose and Donna departures will always be heartbreaking 🥺
Rose was my companion I saw on the show and every time I watch her departure in Doomsday, it makes me cry all the time.
You should do:
Top 10 times the Doctor was saved by a Companion
that would be fun, and there are quite a few
1. River Song
2. Amy and Rory
3. Sarah Jane
4. Tegan
5. Jamie and Zoe
6. Jo
7. Susan
8. Bill
9. Donna
10. Adric
My top 2.......Wiping Donna's memories, and Sarah Jane's farewell. My 2 favorite companions OF ALL TIME!
The best departures are Rose and Donna, followed by river and clara.
Oh dear Doctor, you could've saved Adric.
Fantastic list. Well done.
How’s Clara not even on this list
before I saw number 2 was about to say love him or hate him Adric's exit better be on this list.
Donna's departure was so sad! She was awesome! One of the best companion.💜👍
But Rory and Amy were AMAZING and when they left😭😭😭😭😭💜
For me Donna's was the worst. She not only leaves but she has to forget everything and between David Tennant and Bernard Cribbins make it a truely heartbreaking ending
I'm still dirty about what they did to Donna
I always liked Leela and Romana's departures too
4:40 You gotta be Kiddn(joke I made about the show)
Great list, although the exclusion of Tegan and Victoria's exits is worrying.
River is more than a companion. She is the Doctor's second wife. Hello sweetie. ❤️
Well, second for that cycle. No telling how many families The Doctor's truly had over their now unknown lifetime
My favourite character
amy pond
Martha should be so much higher, unlike Rose she wasn't smart or useful cause she was the Dr's companions but because she was practically a Dr too. Not to mention she had a great personality and felt the most human of the companions and she was so compete as a character.
Susan should have been higher. Donna was more sad than Adric.
This is such a Fantastic show
We need susan and the doctors daughter to meet in a series
I would like to see the top 10 classic dvds that should be on special editions.
Sarah have never left the series. She's the best companion ever.
How is River at number 9? she is such an amazing character and as the video said - such a great story line, she needs to be higher
River should be first and then Amy should be second
You forgot Clara. Run you clever boy and remember me
Clara didn't make the list 😔 i think Donna and Rose made cry the hardest!
To this day the Doctor is yet to come back to Suasn.
@Jason Mistretta ah yes of course
actually they saw each other again in the 5 doctors, and they have seen each other several times on big finish with 8th
@Jason Mistretta big finish is very much cannon
@@julieeverett7442 it's Canon that a lot of people can't even get to listen to. It's sad
Rose should have been first
Rose is everyone's fav
rose is overrated. i like her but the tenrose plot arc got annoying after a while.
That’s a huge disrespect to Sarah Jane Smith.
she really shouldn't. 4 was high enough as it was.
I would have put tegans or peris on here, probably over Martha's or rivers tbh.
I remember when Donna (Catherine Tate) left the show
Rose Tyler.
River should be 1
Or very close - so many good top ones to pick from. But I love River as a character
no though it was heartbreaking, worse if you the read the book, River burnt to death in front of him!
Rose 🌹
I think Donna should have been number one 😝
Rose is the best obviously. Then donna
Meh. Rose’s was overly dramatic and really not intresting. Sorry i just really hate Rose for some reason
Adric was a great companion to the end.
Donna is #1 the rest doesn't matter and Adric is not # 2 for sure you got it all wrong like always
Tell me how opinions can be wrong
@@mrdr0161 1 Donna 2/ Amy and Rory 3/ Rose 4/ Martha the rest was ok and to put Jo in the list OMG she was a trouble seeker I was glad when she left
I know it was just how it was writers wrote her but still even Clara she over stayed and over shadowed the doctor so I had no problem when she left
🌹
I don't think Adric should be number 2
This was the first time a real companion had been killed off. And Adric who the showrunners ruined got a good story finally.
RiverSong is not a companion.
Zoe and Jamie far too low
Sarah Jane departure was not that memorable. Great companion, but the departure was nothing special
where is Romana at Warrior Gate, where she defies the Time Lords by not coming back
Wow and damn
First
Here's something I never understood. Since Donna is half Timelord, she should be able to regenerate, at least a few times.
So, even with her memory locked away, did that ever still happen?
I always felt the old lady Timelord from The End of Time could've been Donna from the future, but it's never really been explained
I think she had just time lord mind, not genes and regeneration energy.
@@stargazer_jay12 Yes, and the meta crisis doctor wasn't able to regenerate either.
no donna only has a timelord brain, not timelord dna, unlike River who actually had timelord dna
Maybe she can. Maybe she will. But if she regenerates, it's a new woman who saunters off.
Adaric is just the worst. He couldn't even die without being a smart arse.
