How to create custom vintage typpgraphy text design in Adobe Illustrator CC..
In today's Adobe Illustrator tutorial I'm going to show you how to create a custom typography design. I am going to show you tools such as the type tool, how to download and install fonts from Adobe Cloud, use the Pathfinder, Pen Tool and how to add shadows to your text.
Note* This is my personal way of working and by no means the best nor the only way to create illustrations. If you don't understand certain parts of the video, let me know in the comments below and I'll glady help you out!

I struggled at the part where vintage was black and then you either right clicked to send to back. That is confusing as your video doesn't have sound at that point so not sure how to proceed with the steps from there. Check it at 4:41
in the part that when you moved the shadow, there is a black stroke remaining on the text, in which I do not have

I use a lot of “temporary” text logos for my projects, so I’ve started saving editable illustrator styles for this purpose. I think you could do a lot of this style just using the appearance panel. You can’t get the same result of course, the inner shadows is one that I find very hard to create. Great video.

i think it would be helpful if u defined what "unnecessary parts" was, for the shadow. I had alittle hard time figuring out which parts of the word I was making were the parts to delete.
Does this process only work for Rounded fonts as Opposed to Blocked Fonts with Corners? I tried with a blocked Square font and when Blending the 2 Black Outlines it created a stepped shadow (looked like stairs) rather than smooth. Managed to get around this by slighty rounding the font for now...
Great question, but I believe the process is similar for almost any font. I will give it a try and maybe create another video tutorial on it!
This happens because with this technique (or the related technique with the transform effect) you create a gazillion intermedia objects. It is impossible to smooth this. So this technique is only useful when you want to export to pixels, but not when you need vector shapes (e.g. for plotting). In order to create smooth block shadows, you can use the 3D effect. Loving these custom text/typography tutorials.. I have always wanted to learn to do them, so I've taken it upon myself to brush up more on my Illustrator skills. I followed along and was successful in creating my own version. I used a closer font to the Corner Store one you used.. Mine was Painter, and it still came out great. I fiddled with the settings and designed mine differently. Am pleased with the results. Thanks again :)

hello, why can you change the point size of the "i" and the size of the "V" etc... and I can't do it, I can only move the letters

You just have to go to your adobe application. This should be installed on your computer already! :)
