    Such an in depth review of this case! Thought it might interest you that my dad actually worked this case as an undercover officer and played a big part in rescuing slater! Very interesting to hear it from an inside POV and also through a podcast knowing my dads the one helping!

      @Andrew Phillips How would you have put it into words?

    • @Jess-jt4zf
      @Jess-jt4zf 4 роки тому +7

      @Andrew Phillips ... Actually after looking through your account and seeing your playlists I doubt I even want to know how *you* would have liked it worded.
      Andrew Philips' playlists include such classics as "Super Big Beautiful Women", "Hairy, sweaty women *and girls* ", "Hairy armpits are sexy", used panty reviews, etc. but what concerns me the most are the amount of videos of underaged girls dancing, having sleepovers, teenage girls in their underwear, children dancing half-naked, touching eachother sexually, etc. titled under "Other interests". Yikes.
      I don't know what your deal is but I'm afraid I might be aware of the possibilities.
      If your point is to show any anti-SW sentiments though... You are obviously far from a person who possesses the integrity and virtue needed to hold such opinions (especially if based on judgment). I doubt anybody could have the capacity for such cognitive dissonance.
      And if it's the other extreme - that you would have better liked a more explicit, mature or vulgar description in relation to a murder victim's intimate life... That wouldn't be any better. Crass, inappropriate and tasteless *at best* . Especially, when having in mind, your documented "interests" it would just make your situation and charecter *even* more creepy and concerning.

    This was a very well done podcast - I am horrified to say that I have never heard of these cases - I remember when murders etc were headline UK news and then they become so frequent it stopped being national news. What a world we live in - so sad and so scary. In my defence I have just heard when this murder and kidnapping took place, I wasn’t living in UK 🇬🇧

    This episode, should come with a disclaimer..... Water works ahead, proceed with caution! Your narration was so good, I began to even feel sorry for Michael! Anyone who can evoke this kind of response from his listeners, has truly attained mastery over them. In the end, it was Stephanie's tenacity that brought me to tears.

    show suggestion: John Ackroyd Oregon serial killer. There are a handful of unsolved murders in the (remote) area in which he operated. He was a highway worker who lived in between towns at a junctiion on Hwy 20 where he often hunted. Long lonely stretches of road of which he knew well.
    Tons of actual interviews available. started in the 70s. While incarcerated he most recently got convicted of murdering his lovely stepdaughter Rashandra Pickle thankfully. He has since died.
    Your treatment of the information and presentation of the facts would be amazing.

    I would never call the cops and get them Involved in the kidnapping if one ever happened with say 1 of my kids I would just pay the money and get my kid back Then i'd call the cops Not risking my kid's life Because every single time the cops are involved and the person doesn't get the money the kid is killed Or they even catch the guy and he doesn't tell them where the kid is and that kid just dies as well I have rarely seen a kidnapping happened and then the police catch the person and get the kids back alive It's usually because one of the kids end up escaping

      Men chose to be coal miners because it was the best option they had, even though it was almost universally deadly in the long run unless you quit early before the coal dust settled in your lungs. Sex work, by comparison, is probably safer, and chosen for similar reasons: it pays better than the options that person has in their current circumstances, and the risk of NOT doing it seems to be greater than the risk of doing it.
      If you can't understand it, you're probably not in a position where you've needed to consider it.

  • @quickchris10

    Is it true that it is the "same sentence for one or two murders" in England, and that you can't have a debt if you wanted to join the army. So weird that Julie would rather be a sex worker than ask her g-parents for money. I wonder if the g-parents were hiding something.

    • @messrsandersonco5985
      @messrsandersonco5985 Рік тому +1

      Gênerally speaking, this is true because life sentences run concurrently, not consecutively. Sadly, this isn't fair to the victims. For example, Sam's got 10 years for each blackmail incident, total 20 years but he was already condemned for Julie Darts murder, so he didn't serve any time for blackmail. Other things are considered when sentencing - previous crimes, remorse, and whether the defendant pleaded guilty or not. Where the totality of his crimes matter, including his conduct while in prison, is when he wants to apply for parole. For all these reasons, Sam's was denied parole in April 2022!
