the stun gun gameplay loop you spoke on just isnt that simple. stun gun only cancels specializations and slows movement, you still can aim freely. its not quite that simple and thought and planning is required. its a skill issue on your part in my opinion
Defo not skill issue and you wanna know how I know? Because these same lights ratting on me in pubs could not compete in world tour or any environment where performance matters. Thats why they all swarm bankit. This entire statement is just flat out wrong.
@@2011manchu if they cant compete anywhere else then shouldn’t you be able to take care of them easily? and back in s1-2 stun literally slowed your aim, now its uninterrupted so its very much easier to just shoot them while stunned

this entire comments section is an ode to how long people have been begging for variety in maps or game modes, accessibility/ q.o.l / customization and embark and nexon wont listen. i love this game and ik there are people that work hard on it, but nothing excuses the mismanagement and straight up neglect embark has for its community. tbh it makes sense if its comprised of old OG dice devs, the battlefield series was also terribly balanced lol
Yep. That's what happens when something is a novelty, but ultimately JUST a novelty. The gameplay loop wasn't engaging enough to go a second time around.
@@lochnesserl8654 But those games had a lot more than a novelty. Fortnite's building system and sandbox gameplay was enough to actually keep things new for a lot of players for awhile, and Apex's movement ensured a high skill ceiling and interesting, varied fights, which was helped in no small part by the excellent gunfeel.
All my frustrations make so much sense now. Can we even hope for improvement in season 4? Like, there is only so much Embark can do and the direction is so screwed anyway - I was bloody angry when they added CS:GO (Terminal Attack lol), but when they made it ranked I felt like my soul was brutally pulled from me. The Finals is like the only shooter I played in years and to see it screw up like that is just so sad...
I would not say they screwed up terribly. Have they made some mistakes? Sure. Are they catastrophic enough that it makes the game unfun/unplayable? Not in the slightest?
@@2011manchu yea, I still play it, but there still is that sour taste gathering in the background. Game died because its of long game times constant fast paced action into a 30 minute game to lose at the end, destroys motivation and retention, cashout was bad, TA was and still is bad, so ranked has always been bad, so nothing really engaging to keep retention and then lead into shitty balance and destruction, the skill gap between casuals and skilled players became to great for the casuals to play, and then the sizeable cheating problem, almost everything that could make an fps shooter die has happened
@@cloudboy08 content creators do not dictate a games life, no matter what a content creator says, they been saying apex was dead/dying/falling off for years, and its still just averages hundreds of thousands of players on steam alone while 4 other platforms exist, epic games/ps network, xbox, and origin. if gameplay is good people will play it, games are like food, it doesn't matter what anyone says, if you like it you like it, and if you are a fan of the genre the chances are higher that you will try it for yourself and if you enjoy it you will stay. the finals had over a million players, the gameplay wasn't it, so they left, not because of creators, but because their overall experience wasn't fun.
For classes, i have more issue with heavy...its the hardest to deal with imo, lights are no issue. Just won tournament as a duo against 2 lights n 1 medium. Can't even remember last time i died from a stun gun invis combo. Just my xp
I quit season one solely bases on balance, i was a heavy main and they just kept handing out nerf after nerf so I switched to light to be a rat with invis and stun and I immediately just went insane
yeah that's just a skill issue i'm sorry. heavy was ridiculously overpowered in S1 and it still remains overpowered when coordinating with a team to this day.
@@kodabear3358 light is good in pubs while solo queuing for sure, but once you play ranked cashout with a squad, it becomes very apparent that light is not a very safe pick, and the best squads always run double heavy med, or double med heavy. @@samhyatt4863 can't speak to how the current balancing is so all of what you're saying might be true idk I dont play anymore but what I can say is I absolutely destroyed in the 48 player comp mode with light for absolutely no reason, heavy definitely gave way more team play/util but I could secure endless elims with light when I shouldn't have been able to
This game was really fun for me in season 1 and after some tunings in season 2 was also fun. The game got very repetitive and boring but I truly disliked the light class. Especially now, it’s just triple lights spamming dash and just spraying you to death. Medium always felt like it was good but if you got into a 1v1 with a heavy, you lose. Vice versa with a light.
Played it for a few days and enjoyed it quite a bit until i tried to play it on controller. Full 360° automatic tracking of opponents made me instantly uninstall.

Yeah just too saturated right now. I’m really sick of the team fortress 2 or overwatch games anyways I want to play as my own character. Picking the cookie cutter builds is old for me now.
I feel like this game has a lot of potential and buzz around it currently. Destiny is down bad right now. The barrier to entry is so high though and there’s not a lot of good UA-cam content it that’s not 8 months old. I wanted to watch some movement guides to get up to speed and there’s not much. I downloaded it last week and went through the tutorial. I’ll probably try to get the hang of things then hop on more when the new season starts .
While I do acknowledge that the game demands a bit more from the player than most other arena shooters, I don't agree that the barrier of entry is so high that average players or noobs can't have fun.
@2011manchu actually speaking from experience he has an idea. I have had several friends try this game but they got sweated on immediately by triple stacks and i can’t imagine that leaving a good impression on anyone especially when first impressions are so important. I didn’t have this issue since i started when the game had clear division between sweats and casuals but now with the ranked situation that has worsened alot which is why i believe that s4 will provide much better experience for new players
Honestly wouldn't be mad if they just removed the stun gun and invis. I've never enjoyed invis in pvp because of how it promotes ratting and kills the nuance of positioning. I do enjoy light for the movement speed and grapple. As for content I really only care for the gameplay in any FPS's. Skins/new content are appreciated but engaging gameplay is number 1. Finals has that for me, D2 did for a while. OW2 has it sometimes (patch dependent).
I'd be fine with invis removal as long as you kept vanish bomb. Honestly as much as I hate invis, vanish bomb is kinda needed if for nothing else than an emergency oh shit button.
@@sparquisdesade Yeah and the vanish bomb is more intentional with usage. I wouldn't say it's needed though. Sometimes dying to positioning mistakes is ok.

@2011manchu Well, my first comment answers that question for a lot of them. There are tons in the video. We'll just go with the title of the video itself. That's just your incorrect opinion. If you’re playing against a team of all lights, who know what they’re doing, you may as well just close application
It’s alive and well, just in a quiet season (which is SUPER long) it’s because Sweden, where the devs are, take a mandatory month break from work. Season four should bring it back
Based on the music and everything with ranked cashout back i already believe so
i hope it also optimizes the game cuz season 3 broke my performance and beat it to death
There is no competitive incentive, and casuals get out qualitied by paid cosmetics.
So unless you plan on having no game library but this , this game is Uber fun but no reason to stay for more than 5 matches.
Season 3 is weak compared to the others but it’s unfair to judge it as such
the stun gun gameplay loop you spoke on just isnt that simple. stun gun only cancels specializations and slows movement, you still can aim freely. its not quite that simple and thought and planning is required. its a skill issue on your part in my opinion
Defo not skill issue and you wanna know how I know? Because these same lights ratting on me in pubs could not compete in world tour or any environment where performance matters. Thats why they all swarm bankit. "Stun gun only cancels specializations and slows movement" this does not help your argument at all and you cant even aim freely because when you ADS, your reticle and optic is jerking all over the place. This entire statement is just flat out wrong.
@@2011manchu if they cant compete anywhere else then shouldn’t you be able to take care of them easily? and back in s1-2 stun literally slowed your aim, now its uninterrupted so its very much easier to just shoot them while stunned
@@moothu_ Like I stated in the video, I could take care of them rather easily and I usually don't break a sweat farming the lobby, does not mean I find it fun to engage with.
@2011manchu To complain about a little stun gun when there's heavies 140 hitscanning RPG's the millisecond a fight starts, along with triple defib Model teams rezzing each other infinitely while 2 tapping you just screams "out of touch." You must only play the casual modes. The big dogs play in World Tour, and they are ALL on Model or AK/Defib/Heal Beam & Heavy/RPG/Hammer or SA12
@@Killjoy.Z not out of touch at all, if you watched the video I only stated that all I play is bankit, world tour is just a watered down version of old ranked cash out that's less competitive. The fact you even mention big dogs is crazy considering that the top players on the leaderboard nowadays were getting gatekept shitless back when the actual good players and teams were playing.
Stun gun is only good against bad players and people who don’t stick with their team(also bad players)
I constantly kill lights after being stunned.
I think you can blame random nerfs and buffs for that.
this entire comments section is an ode to how long people have been begging for variety in maps or game modes, accessibility/ q.o.l / customization and embark and nexon wont listen. i love this game and ik there are people that work hard on it, but nothing excuses the mismanagement and straight up neglect embark has for its community. tbh it makes sense if its comprised of old OG dice devs, the battlefield series was also terribly balanced lol
I primarily play world tour and terminal attack. I played a pub/ casual match for the first time in a while and wow what a not fun time.
Yep. That's what happens when something is a novelty, but ultimately JUST a novelty. The gameplay loop wasn't engaging enough to go a second time around.
You can say the same thing about Br's but look at where Fortnite and Apex are at now
@@lochnesserl8654 But those games had a lot more than a novelty. Fortnite's building system and sandbox gameplay was enough to actually keep things new for a lot of players for awhile, and Apex's movement ensured a high skill ceiling and interesting, varied fights, which was helped in no small part by the excellent gunfeel.
@@brandondennis7527 this game is loads more engaging than apex and fortnite what are you on about lmao
The fact that ppl play valorant/csgo over this is beyond me. Your gf/bfs will leave you for a much more exciting finals player.
I also never liked sweaty FPS and I have this feeling that The Finals is slowly detracting from gameplay focused on map orientation, gadgets and clever planning. I main melee for this reason, beacuse it rewards this kind of play and when SysHorizon came out it was a travesty for me, that map is just soooo many spacious hallways, I have genuine hate for it

Dome shield is unusable now
Game died because its of long game times constant fast paced action into a 30 minute game to lose at the end, destroys motivation and retention, cashout was bad, TA was and still is bad, so ranked has always been bad, so nothing really engaging to keep retention and then lead into shitty balance and destruction, the skill gap between casuals and skilled players became to great for the casuals to play, and then the sizeable cheating problem, almost everything that could make an fps shooter die has happened
Not dead
“Game died” because every money hungry “content creator” called it so for views and nobody wants to try a “dead” game
Just my xp
The game can be good if it didn't have melee weapons and shields and heals
I quit season one solely bases on balance, i was a heavy main and they just kept handing out nerf after nerf so I switched to light to be a rat with invis and stun and I immediately just went insane
Heavy is still better
yeah that's just a skill issue i'm sorry. heavy was ridiculously overpowered in S1 and it still remains overpowered when coordinating with a team to this day.
@@samhyatt4863 dont see how it was a skill issue when I could just switch to playing light and destroy everyone with 0 skill or time on that character
@@kodabear3358 light is good in pubs while solo queuing for sure, but once you play ranked cashout with a squad, it becomes very apparent that light is not a very safe pick, and the best squads always run double heavy med, or double med heavy. LMH can work if your light has very good positional awareness, but that's about it.
If you go above silver in WT you won’t see anything else except medium and heavy. Lights are just the Pub-stompers of the finals
3:01 😂😂 😂 I’m going keep stuning people to and they never going nerf it 🤣🤣😁😁😁
Played it for a few days and enjoyed it quite a bit until i tried to play it on controller. Full 360° automatic tracking of opponents made me instantly uninstall.
Unless you are using a melee weapon the aim assist is kinda negligible
The maps are way to big for such a small amount of players.. if they doubled the amount of ppl on each team it would have been a wayyyy better game imo. I hate running around forever and not seeing anyone until i get to the objective basically
then you are really bad at knowing where to be and go, i dont go 20 seconds before i see someone... ever

if they were smart they would just limit one class per player in the team...
It would kill variety
@@2011manchu maybe, atm it's boring and not a lot of ppl are playing, if it had a bit of stability for each game who knows how it would play

Heavy randoms for me are either the worst ones or the best ones
W takes
What the hell are you talking about it isnt forgotten about at all...
I’m gonna make content soon!
@2011manchu actually speaking from experience he has an idea. I have had several friends try this game but they got sweated on immediately by triple stacks and i can’t imagine that leaving a good impression on anyone especially when first impressions are so important. I didn’t have this issue since i started when the game had clear division between sweats and casuals but now with the ranked situation that has worsened alot which is why i believe that s4 will provide much better experience for new players
i recommend watching shawk, hes the only youtuber i watch and i have a splendid time
22:28 to 22:50 is the truth.

Brother if you think lights are op then you're just trash at the game
If you say willzyzz with a zip code in their name
Sometimes dying to positioning mistakes is ok.
invis has been heavily nerfed over time and it's extremely easy to see invis lights right now. I genuinely think invis is in a great state right now and isn't unfun to play against
@@samhyatt4863 Invis in any fps has never been fun for me to play against. Positioning and timing engages are important fps skills and invis literally takes all the pressure off of thinking on the fly. Just hang out near your target until they do something, then shoot them for free. Extremely boring.
@@Mr_Eyes but my point is with the recent changes, that's barely even true anymore. I have zero trouble spotting invis light players running up to me because there's a loud audio que and you can see them clearly when moving. sure if they come up behind you and delete you then you'll feel like you couldn't have done anything, but that would be the case with any class, so i don't see the argument here. I say this as someone with over 600 hours in the game, lol.
Lack of content all gadgets and weapons are easy to earn..randoms are terrible to play ranked..ranked game modes are goofy and too long..turret is too op healing beam is too op for coordinated teams turns into running simulator..nobody is buying a battlepass or skins for a mostly dead game..has some redeeming factors but all my friends stopped playing as well..ranked is grindy even if youre good no rewards for ranked
gunplay felt rewarding but everything else felt so mickey mouse to me
Howso?
@@Mr-R.R.Stun Gun, Invis, Sonar Grenades, Stacking healing beams / shields etc.
The game has alot of cheesy strats that could be toned down, without being useless.
I just got bored
my main problem with the game is the gunplay, some guns like the AK have insane recoil and its so hard to aim with it
That's definitely a skill issue, you get alot better once you get use to it
The visual recoil could use some work, but the AK is very easy to pick up.

@@SuperTurboPOP It's honestly a lot better now imo. They have a few skins that even add voice modulization. You also got a cell shaded anime skin an a gundamn skin with matching bow weapon which is kinda rad. I was a lil off put at first but then was realized naw that actually hella fits the idea of being in VR.
They also started releasing reactive skins for some guns. Like right now for AK/mp5/flamethrower you got a magma/lava skin that as you fire it goes from lookin like black n red cooled down lava to fire hot with embers flying off the weapon
weapon customization as in attachments? or skins and stuff because i feel like the gun customization is pretty well off
Im indifferent to the idea of weapons not having this intricate gunsmith system that every arena shooter does. If anything, its probably better for the balance in general.
Most points you made in this video are just your incorrect opinion. All you content creators have your blinders on when it comes to this game. The finals was never sustainable for creators. The initial crowd ARE Gaming's casuals. They moved on to the next shiny thing, Palworld, then Helldivers. You didn't even see the player base until then. This game has the potential to become popular but that usually doesn't happen overnight.
@@-KIMISAFOX you can say my opinion is incorrect as much as you like but the market speaks for itself and it's not like I approached this with any kind of hate as I still enjoy the game. Most of what I stated is objective truth and the performance of the game reflects that. But I'll bite, what "opinion" is incorrect?
@2011manchu Well, my first comment answers that question for a lot of them. There are tons in the video. We'll just go with the title of the video itself. That's just your incorrect opinion. The majority of the FPS community has never even heard of the finals & certainly hasnt forgotten about it. Take your blinders off or go stream fortnite. Videos like this have nothing but a negative impact on developers & gamers. Maybe if you want to doom post (that's what this video is) focus on games that are failing. Concord is a good one for you. That's a newer live service game with 80 players online right now.
@@-KIMISAFOX Concord was a dead game walking since the beginning, I dont kick people while they are already down, kind of ironic that you are claiming that I doom post but you are in favor of beating a dead horse. When this game released, it had millions of players playing it. Most of the FPS gamers knew about the game in some capacity even if they didn't play it. I dont have blinders on at all, im just telling the truth of why it failed to retain the incredible popularity it had at the beginning. You can be in denial all you want, but the stats speak for itself. Even though I didn't intend for this to he super negative, I would argue that it's a good thing. Let's go back to the times in which studios published FEATURE complete games and encourage developers to give people what they want. This doesn't hurt the gamers as the consumers always win in the heat of competition. You're just a mindless glazer who doesn't know what they are saying lol
@2011manchu I'm not claiming that you doom post thats evident; this is the first and only video of yours I've watched. I'm just commenting on a Doom post/Clickbait video. I'll repeat myself since you didn't comprehend my first comment. No one had any idea of the actual playerbase until the game awards crowd (casual gamers) went to the next shiny thing(palworld). It's hilarious that you think you speak for FPS gamers. Go make a what happened to Palworld video even though the game is doing great with healthy player base and dedicated developers. Instead of trying to justify your subjective shitpost.
@@-KIMISAFOX Palword and the finals are two different games with different service models. I dont have to justify anything, the stats speaks for itself. There will always be a next shiny thing, that's just the culture.
